...The Dandy Warhols Come Down
The Dandy Warholssolid album!!! this came on a day where the suns out and this perfectly encapsulated that feeling of seeing the sun for the first time in a long time :)
solid album!!! this came on a day where the suns out and this perfectly encapsulated that feeling of seeing the sun for the first time in a long time :)
some songs were misses for me but the ones I liked, I really liked!!! will be revisiting this album in the future, it might grow more on me. stars all seem to weep is my favorite!!!
it was not bad. I can obviously understand how this is a classic of its time.
I really love the opener, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart. The drum backing is so interesting!! I like the lyrics through this album too, I'm not too familiar with Wilco's music but it's giving that good indie sleeze vibe. Jesus, Etc is the most popular song on this album and I can see why. The instrumentals hit you immediately. Kinda weird hearing Jesus so much in a song tho but that's just me.
No Compassion is a fucking banger. Tina Weymouth's bass playing is a huge inspo for me ‼️ She knew what each song needed
Wow I fucking love REM. I wasn't expecting it honestly. I could never connect with REM when I tried in the past. But this album is really good. I didn't realize 'Everybody Hurts' is on this album and I got kinda emotional when it came on. It's a song that really does sound so sad, but if you listen to what's being said, its hopeful and comforting. I forgot how important that song was for me so this was a nice reminder :') Helped me reconnect with that part of my past. REM has a huge influence on Thom Yorke' s work and I can absolutely see how, especially with early Radiohead. An album that's better when you read along with the lyrics. P.S. I really liked that they kept the laugh in Sidewinder, that's really cute! :)
love this type of music, good for a rainy day. fave is All Cried Out
meh
This music makes me feel like I'm in a carpeted basement with 30 other people and I'm sipping on a Coors Light. Gigantic has a really cool bassline, I wasn't surprised to learn that the bassist, Kim Deal, wrote it!! Also liked River Euphrates. Only ever listened to a few songs but I appreciate their unique sound.
not rly my thing but this is a legendary trio. I liked those memories of you and the pain of loving you
classic chill rap, I don't have a favorite but I enjoyed listening
Now this is the kinda music ppl in the 70s did drugs to. Captain Beefheart's Wikipedia page is an interesting read, he was an eccentric guy and a musical innovator. You can hear the early beginnings of punk rock mixed in with blues/jazz. It's such a cool and unique sound, I think this opened the door for a lot of experimental stuff coming in the years after. I'm Glad ❤️❤️❤️ Electricity💜💜 Zigzag Wanderer 💜💜
I'm gonna be honest, it's not what I was expecting. But I fucks with it. Also there was Spanish and a maraca?? who in Steely Dan is a latinaaaaa?? Do it again 💜💜 Only a fool would say that 💜💜
did not like the fact it's a live album. not 4 me.
my faves are dragon queen, shame and fortune, and little shadow. love this era of music sm
Three, M, Seventeen Seconds I'd play some of these songs in my evil lair if I had one and I was also a vampire
the old white folks in the pubs turn the fuck UP when this comes on
Promised you a miracle, king is white and so is the crowd
Joni Mitchell has been on my 'artists I need to listen to' backlog for awhile now. I was glad to see this album on here and she did not disappoint!! Her music is the type that you need to feel. Not something I'd listen to regularly (especially since it's harder to stream cause no Spotify) but I really respect her craft. I love her unique style of singing, Her voice is so fluid and light and strong at the same time. Kinda requires a few listens to really feel it, ngl these are some horse girl tunes. I'm here for it though!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
Man these are some long songs, I don't mind too much since it was mostly instrumental. I liked strange feeling and sing a song for you.
Iron Man doesn't seem like an easy song to cover so I really respect that they tried it and it actually sounds pretty decent!!! Some bangers on this album for sure. Step On Me ❤️❤️❤️ Choke 💜💜 Lovefool 💜💜
solid funk album!!
*GUY WITH A GUITAR ALERT* Listening to this in bed made me feel like Leonard Cohen is singing me bedtime stories(compliment). Faves: famous blue raincoat. 6/10
This album reminded me of those animal books you could order thru the commercials, zoobooks?? idk about this one dawg...
2 songs.... all Jazz... Objectively I don't think this is bad, I only just recently started dipping my toes into jazz music and I Iike some of it. But this just wasn't it for me. I'm personally biased against songs longer than 7 minutes. There's nothing for me to really grab at, I can see how this would be nice to listen to on hold with your insurance company but I can't do it!!! ⭐⭐1/2
solid album!!! this came on a day where the suns out and this perfectly encapsulated that feeling of seeing the sun for the first time in a long time :)
some songs were misses for me but the ones I liked, I really liked!!! will be revisiting this album in the future, it might grow more on me. stars all seem to weep is my favorite!!!
LOL I mean it's Nirvana, baby!!!! What do you expect!!!! Come As You Are makes me wanna play the drums SO BAD That meme "something in my ass" kinda ruined something in the way for me but I still love it
gonna have to revisit this one maybe, just didn't click with me!
had some jamz on here!! I heard some of these before but never knew the artist. the synths make me nostalgic for a time I never experienced(height of the 80s)
Take Me Out is a certified banger. I miss when music sounded like this
this fucks!!! the way method man raps is super interesting, and unique. my favorites are: Tical, Bring The Pain, All I Need
somehow, someday, when the stars go blue
Friction, Prove it, and Torn Curtain were my faves
take away the vocals and this could literally be in a sonic or street fighting game
i <3 damon albarn!!!! my faves were history song, northern whale. the bunting song
FUCKING CLASSIC. Some of the best covers on here. "In the Pines" always gives me chills
good album can't deny that Jesus walks, New workout plan, all falls down
I'm a simple girl. I see portishead and I like. the rest of the songs kinda sound like I'm in a tunnel made of aluminum and there's someone outside hitting the walls
No More Trouble, Midnight Ravers!!
Take Care, Silver Soul. Solid indie album.
to answer Barry b Bensons question. No.
I knew only one song by this artist prior to listening to this album. It's his first album and he's got a very long discography. It's cool to really see how his sound has changed with the times. This was a good album, didn't really wow me. Dead Finks Don't Talk is my favorite off this album
if my life was a hallmark movie, i want my girl Norah Jones on the soundtrack 💯💯💯
did not slay
let me drown, black hole sun, half pretty easy listening.
love woke me up this morning, the first time ever i saw your face(this one was on Glee xoxo), Mother Nature, Do Your Thing
One of the best for a reason.
I love all the songs on this album but I think Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires is my favorite <3 I wasn't expecting to see so many 1 star reviews on this but I guess you have to be smart and hot to understand :/
Two Buffalo Gals go around the outside.... is that where Eminem got that line from holy shit?? I don't have much to say about this one 🤷♀️
One of my favorite Radiohead albums!!! I love all the songs but my faves are Wolf at the Door, Myxamotosis, Where I end and you begin, sail to the moon, and Punch Up!!!
SOY UN BECK FAN 🤪🤪 devils haircut, hot wax, where it's at
surfacing, spit it out, liberate. not something I'd listen to casually tbh but a very energizing album.
