Deloused in the Comatorium
The Mars VoltaI'm not sure that I totally get it, but I think I like it. I could see listening to this one again.
I'm not sure that I totally get it, but I think I like it. I could see listening to this one again.
Standard Zeppelin. Lots of good very long songs. Double album that probably could have been an amazing single album.
Just full of great songs. Only drags a little on the last two.
Some good songs. You can tell they are incredibly good musicians but the sound just isn't quite for me.
Drags a little in the middle but great start and finish.
Much better than I expected. That guy can really really sing.
Rolling in the deep is still amazing. A little hard to take someone like you seriously after the gummy bears. The world needs more cure covers besides love song.
18 minutes for one song is a bit indulgent! The songs were fine but really nothing special.
Pretty dang good. Lots of recognizable singles. The album tracks sound great too.
I like a lot of Dylan's work, but this album is too much of the stuff I'm not as interested in.
First half of the album was just not my thing. Last couple songs were definitely better and more melodic.
Great punk. Not a ton of variation but really enjoyable stuff.
Not as good as the albums that would follow, but you can see where things will go.
Good concept album. Everything was very listenable, and Work It is a smash hit.
Meh. Just didn't really register with me at all.
That is just a staggering number of hits on a single album. What an achievement.
Can't beat early U2. Some great hits and the rest of the album is pretty darn good.
Pretty great. I'm familiar with Bob Marley from the Legend album, but this was a great trip through more of his work. The whole album is full of very good work.
Fairly repetitive. I'm sure it would be great in a club, but for me it wasn't great listening.
Good Bowie, but he's definitely done much better than this. Hard to say any one song really stands out against the rest of his catalog.
Well... That was thrash metal. It's not all bad, but maybe just didn't totally click for me.
I'm not sure that I totally get it, but I think I like it. I could see listening to this one again.
Interesting music, but just feels like ambiance. Not really for me
That's a great album. A couple very recognizable ones in the mix with other very good songs. It's hard to miss when you have peak David Bowie writing for you.
Can't help but love the Beastie Boys. They never take things too seriously and always sound like they are having a good time. Great album with lots of good songs.
You know, it may not be exactly my thing, but I can see why people like it. Much better than I was expecting.
8 songs, all of them good. Nothing wasted on this album. Tuesday's Gone and Free Bird are great as always. This album is always good for a listen.
Massive JC Superstar vibes from the lead singer, which turned out to make more sense once I realized it was the same guy. Good album. Nothing stands out but all of it was very enjoyable.
I've listened to Trout Mask Replica before, and this is significantly better. That is too say at least there's a few songs that are halfway decent. Still nothing great.
I mean... Ok? It just felt like basic 60s vamping. Not bad, but not great.
No lie, that guy rocks pretty hard from behind a piano.
Short and sweet. Good songs. All very CCR-y
New order never disappoints. Another great one.
It's really almost all covers, and nothing special there. I guess they are influential, but that's really the end of it.
They really did just throw everything at the wall here to see what sticks. And the crazy thing is that almost everything sticks. Even the silly throwaway songs are good. And the great songs are great. Except for Revolution 9. That song is just stupid and nobody should have to listen to it.
River of Orchids was fine. I'd Like That and Easter Theatre are both really good. Other good ones: Frivolous tonight Your dictionary All in all much better than I thought it would be. Would definitely listen again.
Not bad. A little silly to have songs about boll weevils and bed bugs, but there was some decent stuff on here. Not sure this is exactly an all timer, but it has some value.
It's Bob Dylan. Everything is pretty baked in with him at this point. This album is good, but there are definitely others of his I like better. Shelter from the Storm is particularly good, but nothing on here matches his best work.
Definitely a early solo Morrissey vibe here. Not sure if that is good or bad. Even had a secret song at the end to lock in the 90s feeling. Not bad. Not great.
It's good, but One is the only real standout song to me. To Live Is To Die is also good. Everything else is really just OK.
It's decent. I never really liked the Wu Tang clan nearly as much as other 90s rap.
Starts off with three bangers and never really lets up. Fantastic album.
Man, I don't know. I was waiting for it to get going and it never really did. Just felt like all the most meh parts of Radiohead.
It wasn't anything special, but I can see how it was foundational for what came next. Definitely can appreciate someone who can fit 14 songs in 32 minutes. Nothing felt boring at least. It does feel like these songs were covered better by other artists.
This album is just perfect, and nothing will ever rock as hard as When the Levee Breaks.
Lots of fun jazzy sounds. No major hits but all great stuff. A really good listen.
Really good. Not one song feels like a hit, but everything was good start to finish.
Good, but never really locked into anything special at any point.
It was... fine? I just can't see much reason for this to be included on this list. It sounded like every other smooth jazz song from the 80s.
That was pretty good. Lots of good funky stuff. Some of the songs were a bit long, but they didn't get boring. Pretty sure Fleetwood Mac ripped off Beetles in the Bog when they wrote Tusk.
I mean... these are obviously talented musicians, but this was pretty awful. There is a reason nobody uses two drummers. In their defense it did get slightly more musical in the last 4 songs, but it was still a pretty painful listen. I knew it was bad when an Applebee's ad came on and I was happy for the break.
I don't know. I can tell it's a guy baring his soul, but I don't think the results are all that special.
Pretty good. I like that standards style from the 50s. Her voice isn't as good as when she was younger, but still pretty great.
Definitely the weakest of their first 4 albums. Still some good stuff though.
It has its moments, but this is just too freaking long. A 20-minute opening track pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the album. Desperately needed to be whittled down.
Good, but I feel like his voice just doesn't stand out enough to make this amazing
It was fine I guess. Maybe this just isn't my cup of tea. More of a Maynard Ferguson trumpet guy.
Pretty solid. Good collection of different genres in one album.
Rolling Stones are pretty great, and this is one of the better albums.
Good. Nothing special, but you can hear the early 90s sounds that would come out of this album.
Really enjoyed that. Probably my favorite album I've heard on this list so far that I wasn't already aware of. I'm definitely interested in hearing more of her stuff.
Meh. I don't think I'll ever be convinced a 20-minute long track is necessary.
Has its good points. A little long, but some of the songs were pretty enjoyable.
Never quite reacted the heights of the first track during the remainder of the album, but still a good listen.
Has its moments for sure, but not as consistently good as the albums leading up to it.
Monumental achievement. Such a huge leap forward from where they started. Nowhere Man is still amazing.
Well... It's Jimi.
Definitely more dated (and paranoid!) than Thriller despite being more recent. Lots of good songs, and Smooth Criminal is an all-timer. Just isn't quite as consistently good as his earlier stuff.
Besides Groove is in the Heart there just isn't much there.
You can hear how foundational this album was even if it doesn't necessarily hold up that well. Chuck D is still great. Flava Flav is kinda annoying.
Definitely more musical than some other Miles Davis music I've heard here.
Feels a little like echo and the bunnymen meets INXS
Not a long album, but pretty much everything on it is top notch.
I was only familiar with Epic before this. A pretty good album even if nothing else stands out. You can hear the beginnings of late-90s nu-metal. Faith No More probably did it better than any of them though.
A little too twee. There was one song I already recognized but nothing else was striking
You can definitely hear the Beatles influence. I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I somehow missed it when it came out.
It's a 5, but the title track nearly takes it down to a 4. Everything here is great but that friggin last song.
Doesn't feel like anything special. I guess I somehow missed these guys back in the 90s
Perfectly fine. California Dreamin' and Monday Monday are clearly the standouts. Everything else is kinda filler.
