A Girl Called Dusty
Dusty SpringfieldMaybe it’s a generational thing, but this one wasn’t my favorite. She definitely has a beautiful, soulful voice, but all the songs sound the same to me.

Feels like summer
Obviously the cover of hurt is amazing, but I hadn’t heard his cover of bridge over troubled water and it’s incredible. The whole album is hauntingly beautiful.

Much different sound than the one song (where is my mind?) I knew from them before listening to this album. It took me a little bit to get into this one, but I really liked it. Starts out heavy and then slows down towards the end.
Of course I love this. Grew up listening to many of these songs on the classic rock radio station my dad played in the kitchen at his restaurant. Teared up a little on songs like Vienna and She’s Always a Woman. Loved it.
While this evokes feelings of nostalgia, I can’t really stand Billy Corgan’s singing and honestly a lot of the songs sound the same. Reminds me of my annoying older sister pretending she was an edgy teenager in the 90s. Also, it’s unnecessarily long. Tonight, Tonight rips though.
Really pretty album. I appreciate this type of music, but not quite my style. Love the bird theme though, especially “Too Many Birds.” Album art and name is cool too.
I like it. Good summer driving music. I wish more bands were still making music like this.
Ehhh. I get that these guys are legends but I much prefer Simon’s solo stuff.
I don’t like this at all. I was optimistic at first but this album is annoying and unpleasant in my opinion. Honestly, how did this one even make the list?
No thanks… not for me.
It was ok, but not my favorite.
Not for me
Of course I’m aware of this album, but this is the first time I’ve listened. I like it, but honestly don’t understand the hype around Eazy-E.
I loved this album when I was younger (9 or so) - my older sister would play the tape on her sound system in her room. It hits different now that I’m a woman in my late 30s. Crazy to think she was in her early 20s when this came out. Great.
This style of music is just ok to me. I think some other bands did it better - but good background music.
Such a cool album. The fact that he played at prisons is incredible. I know he was a complicated man, but I appreciate Johnny Cash’s story and I’m grateful for his music.
Some of my favorite Beatles songs are on this album - Blackbird has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. Only one skip, otherwise a flawless album.
Loved it.
I love OutKast - bought this cd when it came out when I was in high school. I don’t like this album as much as aquemini or atliens, but still a good listen.
This will be a one time listen for me. I get that this is very much the music of the time, but I didn’t like it. The singers voice seemed like it would be better suited for a softer folk sound.
Good listen. Who doesn’t like sledgehammer?
I’m still pissed at them for forcing that album on us a few years ago (you couldn’t even delete it and it wasted space on my iPhone). This one has a few hits though.
I remember watching the Jeremy music video on MTV when I was waaaay too young. The school shooting imagery kinda fucked me up … and now look at where we are in America. Great nostalgic album, but I never cared much for Eddie’s singing. I wish Seattle was still known for music like this.
Love it. Wish I could find new bands with a similar sound.
I can’t think of another voice as pure and devastating as Nina Simone’s. I didn’t quite get it when I was younger, but it has resonated with me as I’ve gotten older. Beautiful.
I liked this way more than I was expecting. I never listened to the Cure because I assumed it was just crybaby cut-yourself-music, but it is so much more than that. I love the production of this album and the 80s feel. I stand corrected!
Funny, the cover art suggests that this album would be different than it is - I was totally not expecting this sound but I loved it. Perfect album for the mood I’m in today.
Excellent and sad. Love the covers.
This grew on me. Liked it more than I expected. The drums were awesome in the first song.
I just had the smiths album before this one and the two of them together was a bit too much Morrissey for me. I get it, but also don’t? What’s the main appeal? But then again he has a magnetic quality to his voice. What’s happening to me …
Don’t like it very much. I like loud music but the sound wasn’t pleasant
Beautiful. Cranes in the sky is a masterpiece.
I had never listened to frank zappa before. The sound is much different than what I was expecting but I freaking love it.
Goddamn. How was Fleetwood Mac this fucking good all the time. I prefer Christine McVie’s singing and loved that she kicked off and ended the album. Happy I listened today.
I recognize some of these songs from when I was younger (from movies and commercials). Not sure I would have thought to listen to it and not sure I will again. Not bad, just very much music of the time.
AC/DC reminds me of my friend, Max. He has a tattoo that says “live free or die,” drinks a case of beer a night, and works on old cars in his spare time. He made me laugh a lot, but I don’t see him as much as I used to. Listening to this album today made me happy. Cheers, Maxie!
I love Supertramp. While this isn’t my favorite of their albums, it’s still good.
The Eagles are another band that I will always listen to. This album is great but there are a few skips.
Good, some weird songs that don’t seem to fit with the others, but still good.
I appreciate this album for what it is, but it’s not one I’m going to listen to again. Didn’t hate it, just didn’t hit the spot for me.
I couldn’t listen to this … straight up trash.
Production is ok, but honestly this was kinda corny. I probably would have loved this when I was a teenager though …
I like it, but it’s not blowing me away for some reason. Should be great, but is lacking soul? Sounds like movie/tv show soundtrack music.
I knew of “without you” before listening and I was surprised that this album is a lot more up beat than I expected. I liked it. I recognized a lot of these songs but thought they were from other artists.
This is a good listen - a few bangers and of course “no more Mr. Nice guy.” Would play it again.
I don’t typically like music like this, but I listened to the whole album. Probably will be a one-time listen for me though. Something about the singers voice is annoying to me.
This was chaotic and weird at times, which seems to be a theme of that era. While I appreciate it, I won’t listen again. Not for me.
I love this one - definitely one of the better albums I’ve gotten in a while. No skips.
I can’t stand the woman’s voice. It’s not good, right? It’s like it’s painful for her to sing. It’s an ok album because it reminds me of being in my early 20’s and drinking with my buddies, but I remember not liking it back then either. Breathy singing? Eww, gross.
This was difficult to listen to at times. It seemed like they wanted to be the Beatles, but in a pretentious way. I made it through but I won’t be listening again.
I bet seeing them play this live was an awesome experience. I wasn’t sure where we were going with the 10 minute instrumental right off the bat, but I liked the rest of the album.
I mean, ok? It’s very 90s, that’s for sure. I hate breathy singing … and this was so hard for me to get through. The worst one I’ve listened so far. Yuck.
I didn't mind this one. Liked all the zeppelin samples, would listen again.
There is an episode of Frasier where the sons find out Marty wrote songs and sent them to Sinatra. They sounded very similar to all of the songs on this album which makes sense because there must have been a formula for big band music. Still, didn’t mind listening to this one - made my 40 minute commute enjoyable.

I remember watching the music videos for this album on MTV when I was about 12. I loved it then and surprisingly still like it today.
Great listen. Life’s a gas is one of the best songs from that era. IMO.
While I appreciate this album and would agree it’s good, there is a special spot in my heart for their final 2016 album, which was a great complement to this first album.
I’m more of a fan of the later Beatles stuff, but this is still a good listen.

Loved it. I bet it was incredible to see them live. And Jim Morrison…. Enough said.
Not my favorite of their albums - no real stand out hits for me - but I’d still listen again.
I know this isn’t a popular opinion at the moment, but I have always been a fan of Kanye’s music. I was in high school when this came out and I was instantly hooked. I think he is a very talented, yet troubled person. I hope he gets the help he needs because his music is special and so is this album.
20 minute song right up front? Alright I’m in. I understand why people love Rush and thought this was a good album but I couldn’t pick a song that stood out.
I appreciate this for what it is - I’m sure a lot of people really enjoy this album - but I couldn’t see myself listening to this outside of a massage spa.
I like loud music so I loved this, but I’m not sure I could listen to it in full that often. I saw them live at a music festival about 10 years ago and it was awesome. Gotta love Metallica.
I really need to stop judging a band by their name/cover art because I loved this. Never heard of them before and was pleasantly surprised.
This one was kind of a slog for me … I prefer the later stuff the Who put out. And 24 songs is too many when they all sound similar.
I love Pink Floyd, especially David Gilmour. I’ve listened to the dark side of the moon in its entirety (without skipping) several times and I love it. This was my first time listening to the Wall all the way through and while it’s long, I really like how the songs blend together.
Not for me. I never got into this type of music or style of singing. Pretty music, terrible singing.
My mom loves to dance. She loved this type of music and played it all the time when I was little. While it’s nice to be reminded of the 90s, I didn’t care for this.
This album is nearly 3 hours long … the hubris of this band! While it is mostly pleasant (I feel like I hear this type of music all the time when eating at trending restaurants in Seattle), it’s simply too long to listen to in it’s entirety without skipping. And I can only stand so much ukulele…
I loved this album when I was a preteen - it is sad, but beautiful. I wish Coldplay stuck to making this type of music (I don’t care for their arena rock albums and hate hearing their songs in commercials).
This one isn’t for me - I’m not so much into the rock opera/theatrical rock genre. Tried to like it, but didn’t at all.
I enjoyed this one. Great listen.
I was happy to see this one on the list! Not because it’s a work of art or anything, but Stellar was my first real favorite song when I was younger - I couldn’t stop listening. It’s still good today (Drive still sucks too).
I’m sorry but no … there is no way I could have listened to this all the way through without skipping. Good soundtrack for a 90s hacker movie though.
Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for this one, but I didn’t like it. It doesn’t stand out next to the great albums of this era - sure, smoke on the water is fun to listen to, but that was about it for me.
I liked this more than I was expecting. I have always liked pale blue eyes, but I didn’t know the rest of the album is just as pleasant. I think I just assumed it would be less than good because they seem like pretentious jerks. I’d listen all the way through again.
If you play this without listening closely to the lyrics, it’s great. But then you listen to Black Train and you get a different feeling about this album.
I was put on to one of these songs a few months ago and loved it. Had never heard of Brian Eno or this album before that but this is a good listen.
Controversial take, but a lot of people put Aretha at the top of the list of the best singers, but I wouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong, she’s great and this album is fantastic, I just don’t think she’s the greatest of all time.
I’m not a jazz fan, but I occasionally like a more moody song than what’s on this album.
I’m not crazy about this… seems more like something my hippy mother-in-law would listen to. Fiona Apple sounds a lot like her - not sure if I like that or not.
I liked this more than I was expecting. Definitely would listen again.
I wasn’t excited to listen to this one at first - I’m not usually into this genre, but I didn’t mind it today. It’s sad at times, but in all, a good listen.
I’m happy to finally get a more recent album. And I enjoy grime and Skepta - definitely would listen again.
I loved this when I was a young teenager and it’s still good, but part of that is because of nostalgia.
These guys fucking rip - I don’t think they get enough recognition. Good listen.
The music is great but this guy is probably one of the worst singers I’ve ever heard. Eww. So hard to get through it.
I like punk, but this one sucks.
I wasn’t really feeling this one today either. It’s not bad, it just all sounded the same and I found that boring.
