Deloused in the Comatorium
The Mars VoltaQuite fun early emo vibes
Quite fun early emo vibes
Quite fun early emo vibes
Love the strummy guitars on this album. Definitely will listen again.
Wall to wall catchy
More of a 4.5 I love this albums it’s something listen to a lot. The aggressive synths / metal style production does it for me. The more vocal driven tracks on this album I find less enjoyable. One of my top alums of all time.
I don’t listen to / know much about jazz but this was a very nice listen.
Upbeat throughout as you’d expect from a classic soul album. I’m sure this was one of the forerunners in the genre but I can’t help think it all just blends into one.
Love this, can’t recall ever hearing about this band so it was a nice to listen to something totally new to me. Beautiful vocals and instrumentation and a nice mix of rock / psyc and folk. Bit mamas and papas / Jefferson airplane. Going to give it round 2 on the way home!
Pounding
It’s not my favourite Beatles album but there’s some amazing songs on there. Maxwells silver hammer can get to france
Again some great songs but as an album it’s got room to grow on me
Catchy pissy lyrics
Loved the guitars / percussion on this
It’s an Interesting album historically but fuck is it hard to listen to at points. I do like how experimental it was for the time and I enjoy some of the hypnotic post punk rhythms but at times it sounds like four people jamming to completely different songs.
I really wanted to like this. On the whole this was a bit too twee for my taste. I enjoyed it more when it veered into a more cosmic rock direction. It’s worth getting to the end for Time of the season as it’s an amazing track that stands out from the rest of the album.
You know it’s the nineties when they tell you in every song.
Stonker
That was a slog to get through
A couple of stand out tunes but gets a bit boring
Lots of great songs nice harmonies especially
Love this album. Really dancy and interesting production
This takes me back to when i was 17 and would listen to this album on repeat. So many great songs on one record.
Liked this a lot.
Some nice guitar / bass parts but this is as far away from my cup of tea without being totally unpleasant.
Takes a few songs to get into the weird production style but feels pretty unique and trippy
I’m curious enough to give this another listen. I enjoyed the chuggy guitars
FFS Didn’t expect to cry 3 times on the way to work. Hurt is one of those songs that bring me instantly to tears every time I hear it. That and personal Jesus are some of the best covers out there. I was skeptical about “In my life” and what he could add to such a perfect song. Again, tears! I didn’t really need to hear another version of Danny boy but fucking hell that destroyed me. There are a few other covers that don’t hit the mark for me and feel a little on the nose.
Sultans of swing
It’s interesting but would take a good few listens to get into
Snoozefest but interesting to hear the transition from 70’s new wave into 80’s synth pop
Love Joni Mitchell. I’ve not heard this album before. Lovely stuff
Way better than I was expecting. Very fun
Each song sounded like every other offspring song I’ve ever heard. Good energy for a Monday morning though
Pretty forgettable songs apart from the Dylan stuff but it sounds great! One to revisit
Decent!
Nice. I really like the live / raw feel to the production
Quite catchy at points. Bit of Dylan mixed with Zeppelin even the cure. The last song “American Girl” has an indie rock feel to it. Definitely the stand out track for me
I was looking forward to this when it came up but I really hated it. Sounds so of the time in the worst possible way. Moody boring. Could possibly sound good when high on mushrooms but I’m not willing to take that risk.
The absolute GOAT. Some of the more vocal songs are a bit of an acquired taste but this album is beautiful. Lots of nods to his more ambient stuff. “The Big Ship” is one of my all time favourites.
Some tasty guitar on this. Decent rock album
Nobody actually talks like that.
Quite nice post punk guitar / drums but it’s very forgettable. Bet they were a good band to see live though.
Marvin really does love getting’ it on
Best falsetto in the land
I don’t think there was one redeeming quality about this album
Some great tracks on this but didn’t find it as good as some of their other records.
Instantly recognisable. Love the guitar drones / moody riffs Sounds very of its time with the electronic sounding drums and production style but it’s a banger
Very pleasant. I don’t feel qualified to comment more than that on a jazz album
Not the sort of thing I’d usually listen to. Bit deeper than your standard country album, I liked some of the more upbeat tracks.
Pretty interesting / bizarre album. Some of it sounded like overly produced Britpop.
Incredible, such a unique and powerful voice!
Lot of fun this!
Not inspired to listen to this one again. Petty samey but the production was quite nice.
Some bangers on this album but I struggle with her vocal style, it gets a bit grating after a while and I start to crave something a bit more melodic. Would give another go though as it was really nice instrumentally.
This was a really nice surprise. Love the new wave / white boy funk crossover. Very fun from start to finish!
Really enjoyed the funk in this one!
Cock rock with extra steps
Quite nice energy and it felt quite modern but dull
This is a banger! Production is amazing and some really catchy songs!
The upbeat stuff was fun. That imagine cover though
Absolute classic
Not sure what I was expecting but this was pretty nice to listen to. Not massively countrified which is a plus
Really great guitar / interesting jazzy drums. Sounds very modern and you can hear future influences for sure!
So overwhelmingly boring
This is beautiful!
Very weird will listen again
Some classics on this album. Perfect day is perfection!
There’s only one Bob Dylan. Some amazing songs on this album
Ruddy Hell
I remember liking a few songs at the time (can’t believe it was 2008) still think there are a few solid songs. Nice concept for a side project and the morricone style is fun!
Oh no, I think I like Jazz. Lovely singable Melodies throughout!
Pretty much perfection. Every song is excellent!
Nice instrumentation but the solos were a bit long and boring
All the ingredients were right for this but it just went nowhere. Infuriatingly droney and boring.
Inwish I found this when I was a teenager. Really interesting theme for a metal album and it smashes!
