Quite fun early emo vibes

Love the strummy guitars on this album. Definitely will listen again.

Wall to wall catchy

More of a 4.5 I love this albums it’s something listen to a lot. The aggressive synths / metal style production does it for me. The more vocal driven tracks on this album I find less enjoyable. One of my top alums of all time.

I don’t listen to / know much about jazz but this was a very nice listen.

Upbeat throughout as you’d expect from a classic soul album. I’m sure this was one of the forerunners in the genre but I can’t help think it all just blends into one.

Love this, can’t recall ever hearing about this band so it was a nice to listen to something totally new to me. Beautiful vocals and instrumentation and a nice mix of rock / psyc and folk. Bit mamas and papas / Jefferson airplane. Going to give it round 2 on the way home!

Pounding

It’s not my favourite Beatles album but there’s some amazing songs on there. Maxwells silver hammer can get to france

Again some great songs but as an album it’s got room to grow on me

It’s an Interesting album historically but fuck is it hard to listen to at points. I do like how experimental it was for the time and I enjoy some of the hypnotic post punk rhythms but at times it sounds like four people jamming to completely different songs.

I really wanted to like this. On the whole this was a bit too twee for my taste. I enjoyed it more when it veered into a more cosmic rock direction. It’s worth getting to the end for Time of the season as it’s an amazing track that stands out from the rest of the album.

You know it’s the nineties when they tell you in every song.

This takes me back to when i was 17 and would listen to this album on repeat. So many great songs on one record.

Liked this a lot.

Some nice guitar / bass parts but this is as far away from my cup of tea without being totally unpleasant.

Takes a few songs to get into the weird production style but feels pretty unique and trippy

FFS Didn’t expect to cry 3 times on the way to work. Hurt is one of those songs that bring me instantly to tears every time I hear it. That and personal Jesus are some of the best covers out there. I was skeptical about “In my life” and what he could add to such a perfect song. Again, tears! I didn’t really need to hear another version of Danny boy but fucking hell that destroyed me. There are a few other covers that don’t hit the mark for me and feel a little on the nose.

Nice. I really like the live / raw feel to the production

Quite catchy at points. Bit of Dylan mixed with Zeppelin even the cure. The last song “American Girl” has an indie rock feel to it. Definitely the stand out track for me

I was looking forward to this when it came up but I really hated it. Sounds so of the time in the worst possible way. Moody boring. Could possibly sound good when high on mushrooms but I’m not willing to take that risk.

The absolute GOAT. Some of the more vocal songs are a bit of an acquired taste but this album is beautiful. Lots of nods to his more ambient stuff. “The Big Ship” is one of my all time favourites.

Not the sort of thing I’d usually listen to. Bit deeper than your standard country album, I liked some of the more upbeat tracks.

Not inspired to listen to this one again. Petty samey but the production was quite nice.

Some bangers on this album but I struggle with her vocal style, it gets a bit grating after a while and I start to crave something a bit more melodic. Would give another go though as it was really nice instrumentally.

Ruddy Hell

I remember liking a few songs at the time (can’t believe it was 2008) still think there are a few solid songs. Nice concept for a side project and the morricone style is fun!

All the ingredients were right for this but it just went nowhere. Infuriatingly droney and boring.

Inwish I found this when I was a teenager. Really interesting theme for a metal album and it smashes!
