Dirt by Alice In Chains
Jun 14 2024
My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jun 19 2024

One of my favorite albums from that time and still today. Great lyrics, great pace and Elvis At his best!!

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 23 2024

Definitely interesting, not what I expected from the Beach Boys. An attempt at more socially conscious subject matter, I think - Student Demonstration Time is too weird. I really like Feel Flows, feel like I've heard this before. Harmonies on Til I Die and Surf's Up are great, classic beach boys

Tago Mago by Can
Jun 24 2024

This is fun! Loving the guitars in the first song so far...probably not something i'd come back to but really good overall, reminds me of jam bands

Jun 25 2024

Of course I'm pretty familiar this one, but it really is great. I was surprised at how much I liked "The Great Gig in the Sky" and "Eclipse" - love the backing vocals!

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Jun 26 2024

Love some of these songs, not a fan of all the pan flute or whatever that is but the African drum sounds are great. "Mother and Child Reunion" is an all-time favorite.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Jun 27 2024

I had listened to this a few years ago and forgot how much I liked a lot of these songs (beyond just Blister in the Sun). A unique sound and a lot of fun, for the most part. A few I didn't love, but pretty impressive capturing of what it's like to be a high school guy written by musicians who were less than 18!

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jun 28 2024

Obviously love "Piece of My Heart." Some of it is a little too hippie 60s for me. The bluesy stuff is great

War by U2
Jul 02 2024
Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jul 03 2024

Love a 33-minute album. Lots of classics and fun.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jul 07 2024

Love this album. Pretty perfect to me. Old school sounds, bluesy, full of hits and “classics”

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jul 09 2024

Familiar with Pusherman, Super Fly and a couple others - love this. smooth!

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Jul 12 2024

Really fun listen for the first half. Dragged a little at the end

Dookie by Green Day
Jul 20 2024
Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Jul 25 2024

A little sad but she has a great voice, very nice

Jul 26 2024

"Ascension" was already a favorite. R&B classic, not something I'd listen to very often but quality.

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah
Jul 28 2024

Definitely dated and repetitive but I like early hip-hop and am impressed by a 19-year-old Black woman breaking into the male-dominated rap game in 1989.

Marquee Moon by Television
Jul 29 2024

I like this a lot! Don't love the vocals but some really good songs.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Jul 30 2024

I've always liked the popular Rage songs, but not necessarily something I want to listen to front-to-back. Screaming "Bullet in your Head" for mintues on end isn't exactly calming. Still, good stuff.

Jul 31 2024

Laughing at this opening song about the mundanity of grown-up life - adulting, as we say now. "Tainted Love" is great of course. "Seedy Films" is BAD. I can't help but think of Ross on "Friends" when he busts out his keyboard and plays his songs from college. SEX DWARF OMG

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Aug 01 2024
With The Beatles by Beatles
Aug 02 2024

Classic. Not 100% polished yet, but still The Beatles! I always loved their version of "You Really Got a Hold on Me." And of course "All My Loving" is a must.

Synchronicity by The Police
Aug 03 2024

Like the "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" lyrics appearing in "O My God." - nice surprise for me. "Mother" is way too weird. Pretty great overall, especially toward the end, from "Every Breath You Take" on!

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Aug 06 2024
Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Aug 07 2024

Mid, not great not terrible. Impressed that he played all the instruments and I do like his voice.

Smash by The Offspring
Aug 11 2024
Aug 12 2024

Loved this album when it came out. It's a little of it's time, slow, but still very enjoyable

The Yes Album by Yes
Aug 16 2024

Not my favorite style but I like this, have always loved "Your Move"

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Sep 03 2024
Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Sep 05 2024

Reminds me of Dido, Alanis, Natalie Merchant. Beautiful voice and good tunes.

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Sep 06 2024

I liked this, some toward the end weren't as strong. Nice 60s grooves.

All Directions by The Temptations
Sep 10 2024

Classic, a little slow but they have beautiful voices and harmonies. I didn't love the first 8 minutes of "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," ha

Repeater by Fugazi
Sep 15 2024

I can hear how this band influenced a lot of bands I loved in high school. Feels important for my music appreciation :)

Not the world's biggest Dylan fan, but if I had to pick one it's this. Have loved "Don't think twice it's alright" for a long time. Very yearning, wistful music, to me.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nov 02 2024

Loved this when it came out.
