I now understand heroes nights at Manray. I liked the songs, but I felt the energy got repetitive and I was pretty much done halfway through. If I was dancing, I think I would’ve liked it more. However, just listening on the subway didn’t get me as into it.
Obviously incredible. Whats more to say!
If the job of music is to articulate a feeling, this album has done it. Packaging genuine angst, anger, and frustration in poppy punky rock riffs without sounding commercial or insincere is rare and incredibly well done in this album. In my opinion it’s a bit front loaded with the hits but who could blame em
Besides the standout tracks I found this album to be pretty bland indie haze, repetitive and not grabbing my attention.
Stunning, raw, contemporary, a true gem. Foundational songwriter turned expressive singer of her own stories.
I enjoyed this album as background music. On a close listen I noticed synthesized elements of Americana rock, punk, pop, etc. They blended these elements enough to make very palatable alt rock music, but overall nothing incredibly unique and ground breaking.
Decent! Some fun tunes.
Full of bright and powerfully directed energy!
Interesting blend of reggae ska and punk elements that reflect the angst of the working class in the British scene.
sounds like something i should be nostalgic for. I would have adored this in high school. As for now I’m more appreciative that I now hear it and can see it as a landmark in its time, that I understand the intended or unintended referential modern music that is linked back to this moment.
perfect album
