Ugh this album just reminds me so much of the bands and the music that were so formative to me when I was younger and it's so fun bc this album was probably so formative to them when they were younger!!!!! Why is he so angry!!!! kind of insane how many hits are on this though. I knew i had an eminem phase as a teen but didn’t realize how deep i was in it because i knew most of these songs lol Again though… why is he soooo angry… calm down girl DIDO ON THE TRACK BABY!!! Stan is soooo good…. it really is just sooo hateful though. like it’s hard to ignore all of the lines about raping and killing women.. i just.. you can’t really find an excuse for it and it’s really disturbing that every song has a mention of some kind of intense violence against women?? Kim is a disgrace of a song like it’s truly so upsetting and more upsetting thinking about how much i loved that song as like a 13 year old girl!!!? just gross alright it’s starting to get longgggg i am losing steam Overall it’s very of its time and its so good for so many reasons but also just makes me so uncomfortable at the same time.. and i guess thats not a bad thing but at the same time its just.. deeply misogynistic and idk how much i can vibe with that!!

feels like theater kid rock! i can dig it! they all sound somewhat the same to me? i appreciate the pan flute or whatever that is lol some fun sounds but they sound like a meatloaf cover band to me which i know isn’t right bc they came first lol but it’s all i could think! they do some funky stuff i wish the lyrics matched a bit more - but again that’s just me wishing i was listening to meatloaf instead lol i like the slower ones songs more! lots of talk about religion throughout but idk what any of it meant lol Talented group of dudes! some really fun mixing and melodys and i loveee the flute! kinda growing on me tbh

this started and i just immediately said “absolutely.” very much my shit. obsessed with Allison!! wonder who that diva was… all over the world!!! let’s gooooo girlllsss So different than the songs i previously knew the pixies for!! this album sounds like so many of the artists i listen to today it’s so fun to see the influence!!!

ALL I DO IT WINNNN!!!!! i love curtis mayfield so fuckign much!! the brass arrangement on So in Love 😭 i love this man so goddam much. to be loved by him must have been so special. the keyboard too!!! this man was a genius. Three songs in and just devastated we lost him when we did. maybe one of the most serious funk albums ever made lol - what a visionary!!!!!!!!! it's light and the music never feels heavy but what he's saying is so somber. i love the contrast Power to the people baby. We will either sink or swim together.

Really like the orchestral arrangement at the end of the first song.. other than that no huge standouts but the last 5 songs sucked (in my opinion lol)

okay didn't realize how many Stevie Wonder songs I knew?? his influence is kinda crazy.... songs I didn't know I could recognize because they've been sampled so many times (pastime paradise). I know we all know it... but isn't she lovely is truly one of the best songs ever. I think I need a daughter??? Uplifting and funky - can feel the love he put into it. Also, long! Also made me realize I like soul / gospel music more than I like funk.

Getting to be needlessly long. songs blurring into the next. feels like dribble. I do not like this man. fighting the urge to turn this off with two more songs.

Crosby, Still and Nash are always a little hit or miss for me. I don't think I've ever listened to an entire album by them and liked the whole thing. The songs I like...I really like. The other ones literally do nothing for me. Unfortunately, on this album there were only like 3-4 I really liked.
