KraftwerkIt’s like the most innovative novelty record .

Riffs. For. Days. Docked a star for being rape.
Johnny Marr is just so amazing
It’s….. nice. I don’t mean to be dismissive or play into the trope that this band is boring, but I don’t think I’d ever put this on for a full listen again. Clocks is a banger though.
This album really is one of the best things ever created. Books have been written about how many walls came down… east meets west, sunny pop meets deep inward reflection… on and on. And the fact that the most popular musicians in the world to streeeeeeach boundaries is so daring and inspiring. How lucky they had George Martin! 25 stars!!
One of my top five favorite albums ever. Stevie generally gets on my nerves but her songs here are lovely, as are Christine’s. The irony of spending millions on the record and having Mick as your drummer, but you decide it’s better to beat on a tissue box on the bathroom because it’s what’s needed is either a sign of mad genius or an after effect of massive drug use. Either way, I’m here for it!
First four songs are amazing. Then the hit. Then the enjoyment diminishes.
This album sounds like what serious mental illness must feel like. Artistically pretty amazing. I admire it WAY more than I enjoy it. I might out it on once or twice more in the next few years, but I’d never grab it with any enthusiasm like a would a record by Fela, by X, by the English Beat, by Mingus, by Joni, etc etc etc. But I can totally see that this would be someone’s go to record! Five stars for artistry One star for enjoyment Three stars splits the difference.

Of it’s time.
There are a few gems on this record, but it has more to do with the songwriting and the band more than the singer. The schtick is thick with this guy.
Nope! Gave up after three tracks. Decided to try a Childish Gambino record in its place. Childish ***** Earsarehurtin Neuheadache ** Future Kid Rock rotation *
Like the Thompson Twins, but less interesting. I never thought THAT was possible.
Excellent!
Any Zep record is a mixed bag for me. The lows and highs on this one cancel Each other out. ***
I liked this more than expected, but…. After the seventh song about accepting myself for who I am, I had my fill. Docked a star for being too long - curse of the cd age. I really prefer an album that’s five a side and all killer.
More fun than I expected. Will revisit again!
Five songs I like very much. The others are nice like Coldplay.
Critical stepping stone to the Beatles and others, but like a lot of pioneers from the 50s it’s now 70 years old. Very much of it’s time. Great song writing.
The extended version of Papa Was a Rolling Stone is a marvel
This record was my “go to” for a really long time. After Remain In Light and the rest, this kind of got loft behind, like the singer in Almost Famous. Playing it again today was like hearing it gir the first time all over again. It REALLY holds up. Short and sweet, all killer no filler. Mind. Drugs. Heaven. Cmon! Five big stars!!!!
The singles are fine. The production is really dated. And the Talking Heads song is giving American Idol week 13 stunt cover vibes. Why is this on the list? It’s stunningly unremarkable…
This holds up remarkably well after 30+ years. And the Anthrax collab is amazing. Can’t Truss it By the Tome I Get to Phoenix Night train Bring the Noise ****
Nope. I haven’t been 12 in a long time.
Riffs for days. It’s good, but not one I’d listen too all the way through.
It’s the Faces in all but name, and the Faces are aces. It’s easier to demote your opinion of a guy like Rod, given his later turns toward satin pants and cover albums for retirees, but he really was an amazing for a time.
I’d give the instrumental version of this album 4 stars. I’d give it 5 stars if you shaved off five or six of these tunes. Too long and too creepy.
This is not Bowie’s fault.
It’s like dessert. Fine for a few songs but gets sweet and samey real quick. Some good ones tho…
Let me start off by saying that my parents small collection of albums in the 60s contained A LOT of S&G, so they’re heavily imprinted on my child mind…. (So is Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, but that’s a topic for my therapist). The good stuff here is amazing. The Dylan Spoof and the Silent Night thing less so. I applaud both their ambition and their brevity.
Near perfect
Bootsy! Macro! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holds up 60+ years on.
Undeniable.
Dated. Like worse than any Beatles solo record.
When Bruce took the off-ramp from bombast to a leaner sound after Born to Tun, this team jumped on that highway and drove it to Broadway. Then they beat it to death. But this thing is special, unique, snd of sinking humor.
I’m allergic to concept albums (except Quadrophenia, which is awesome). This one has bright moments mixed with bloat. I’d never ever sit through this again, but I appreciate artists who swing big. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
