1001 Albums Summary

If you want to listen to Blur making songs for Revolver by The Beatles then this is the album for you. Lucky for these guys i like those two things. Nicely paced album, good songs. Long gone into For Now and Ever is a nice closer, God! SHOW ME MAGIC is a good opener. Solid

First 3 songs bad. Rest of the album very good. Some superb baselines

Folk music where nearly all the songs are indistinguishable from each other. I would never ever ever listen to this album again

Good ol fashioned rock and/or roll

Would be 5 stars but for the 9 minutes of talking in By the Time I Get to Phoenix. The 2nd and 3rd tracks are awesome. Hot, buttery and soulful

He's clearly one of the greatest musicians ever but I just don't think it's really an album. More a collection of bits of songs

Pleasant album

A lot of shrill screaming ruined my enjoyment of this album. Great performance and some good songs

1001 albums to hear before you die? Why would this be here? What would I have missed out on exactly? Some generic 2010s indie. I think I could have died without hearing this and died as a content man. Who are these guys? They ought to thank whatever deity they worship that the film Django happened to come out the same year which I assume led to some accidental listens of this album. There will be much much worse albums, but j can't imagine one with less impact. I had Thriller yesterday. Thriller. Michael Jackson. Now, you may think that I absolutely hate this album, in fact it's so ordinary to me and I assume will be about number 600 in the list when all is said and done. It is OK.

Glad to have experienced something I wouldn't have found otherwise. Nice instrumentation but the vocals are draining to me after a while

Pop perfection

Can't imagine one of these lists without this album. He always somehow makes something so Paul Simon whilst always mixing in new elements. A constantly evolving artist with a flair for taking inspiration and turning it into something other worldly. This album is such a beautiful mixture of western pop with traditional African sounds that create something completely hitherto unfamiliar to the audience of the former. Magic

Easy to listen to. Talent

Didn't do much for me but ok. Reminded me of being a kid in my friend's car

Not much of a cunt try music fan but I did like his dabbling into blues and funk. The funk song easily my favourite
