The same as much of the music that came out during that era, very forgettable. Many praise the vocals and how great they are, it seems they used a lot of echo to cover up how bad they might actually be. EVERY song had over use of echo. Honestly had never heard of the group but this album doesn't prompt me to listen to anymore of them.

Ella Fitzgerald, great voice. Gershwin, some fantastic music! Put them together and what do you got??!! Ella Fitzgerald singing covers of Gershwin........ This album isn't ground breaking or influential in any way, it's literally just a bunch of covers. I actually listened to the full 3 hours, after a while it all started to sound the same. Is it good, sure. Is it great, no way.
Repetitive, from the lyrics to the guitar riffs. Had a very "garage band" quality, couldn't get past the first few songs.
As an 80's teen I wasn't a fan of the Cure, enjoyed the songs that got air time but never listened to a full album. As I listened I dug a bit and read this was the first album they cut without constraints so I listened to the previous. Night and day between the two. This album definitely had "The Cure" sound which made it much more interesting after the fact.
I enjoyed this, great to listen to while working. Very much reminiscent of Sade.

I've only heard the uber popular Abba songs but never listened to any other music of theirs let alone a whole album. Let me tell you, after listening to this album I can tell you I'm not an Abba fan.
One of the members actually had a fairly good voice but was overshadowed by some other person screeching wildly. I had to actually go to the lyrics to see if they were speaking English. That was a mistake, "lyrics" would be stretching the definition of the word. Bad, bad, bad album.

At first listen I found it a very unique sound. As I got farther in, it all sounded the same. Maybe it would have been much more palatable if you could understand the words in the songs.
When this album was released didn't like any of the songs that got radio play but I gave the whole thing a listen. Didn't like any of the songs that didn't get radio play.
