1001 Albums Summary

Jazz not my genre, recognised a few movie scores. Easi listening but won’t be on my rotation

A real blast from the past for this one, brings back memories of parties in dark and dingy houses with the sweet smell of marijuana heavy in the air and couples making out to Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. I do find Black Sabbath music to sound the same, but it was refreshing to listen to some of their softer tracks such as changes. I definitely did enjoy it, Black Sabbath were Pioneers and their music shocked our parents who were more used to the Beatles and Rolling Stones.

This album highlights how talented west is. I don’t often listen to Kanye, probably he’s more known songs but there is some gems in this.

Bono is an acquired taste, some people never acquire it. I’m in the later group. While their music is ok it baffles me how they got so big,

Bowie has always been weird, this is one of his weirdest albums yet. In a good way.

This album really hit the flavour of the 80s. Not the music I listen to back then but the sound is familiar.

Toe tapping hip thrusting, there is a reason Elvis is called the King. My music taste are much more contemporary, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this album.

One of the best albums ever made. I listened to this one in the 80s until the cassette wore out.Sade has a voice like it’s floating in the clouds

What an album! Buddy were certainly taken too soon and this album is test amount to the talent of this man and his backing vocals band the crickets. Love listening to it love singing along with it.

This is not the sort of album you listen to at 6 am in the morning, unless your 6 am is a continuation of the night before. One thing I like about this album is that The Voice of Iron Maiden is very easy to hear and understand, you can hear every word unlike a lot of other heavy metal bands.

Not sure what this album made up its mind to be whether it was disco jazz big band or Cabaret it had a bit of everything, but not everything but I liked what was good was very good

If you were around in the late60s, this music was the music that defined that era. The 60s had its own special sound.

Dylan can barely sing, the harmonica isn’t a musical instrument and his guitar skills are average. Yet his music somehow comes together so well and is so powerful
