Great way to start the project. This is a Beatles album, and a very good one at that. Everyone is on top form on this album; the breakdowns on “Drive My Car” remind you that Ringo is a world class drummer, George’s guitar solo on “Nowhere Man” is surprisingly crisp, and John and Paul are John and Paul the whole time. There really isn’t a miss on this album and I’d happily listen to it again for every day of this project. Some songs feel a bit dated, but it’s Rubber Soul so that is easily disregarded.
Despite its near universal acclaim, this album did not feel as perfect as Rubber Soul. The White Album’s highs are as good as music can be: Dear Prudence, the string of tracks from Happiness is a Warm Gun up to Blackbird, I Will, and Revolution 1 are all masterpieces. However, the lows are much lower and they hurt the experience of this album as a whole. It’s still The White Album so it can’t go much lower than 4 stars.
I actually a decent album if a bit boring or same.‘I especially liked the back half, I particular the final song. I wish I had heard this in public at a cool lounge instead of in my headphones.
I definitely enjoyed this album. It sounded very similar to a lot of the other music from this era that I’ve heard, though certainly not in a bad way. I always mix up this band with Depeche Mode.

Didn’t really care for this one besides the last two tracks
Every track is incredible. I think it’s hurt by its density. There are just so many songs that are all so short that it’s hard to lock into it. If any of the (very numerous, extremely good) ideas here had time to breathe, this would be a perfect album. Fucker
A solid indie rock record that sounds of the time and scene in which it was created. The Flaming Lips connection was both apparent and welcome.
This is one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed, by one of the finest and most important musicians to ever live. This album is extremely special; Coltrane conveys a meditation on love without using lyrics, weaves a narrative throughout 32 minutes. Very few pieces of art touch this one.
I liked this much more than I thought I would. For how ubiquitous he is, I never really listened to Snoop Dogg’s music and I quickly realized how good he was. Dre’s production was so good too

Absolutely horrible. 9 minute long synth loops with prince whispering about sex and grunting the whole time. I thought he was supposed to be some sort of legend?
Eddie is very clearly the goat and eruption is obviously an impressive song but this whole album feels like a 10 year olds idea of good music
The Boss is a really great songwriter, but I prefer to hear other people perform his songs. It feels like a boomer musical that gets made for tv
It is so awesome that they just did a country album. The guitar is always so good on stones songs. This album honestly drags a bit but it gets the first 3 starts for gimme shelter alone

This album really is amazing. Eazy E is so sick and Dr Dre might be actually the goat. I love how raw and emotional it is, even if the style is a bit dated
Like Straight Outta Compton, a lot of what Ice Cube does flow wise feels pretty dated, but he isn’t propped up by E and Dre here and the album is weaker for it. However, the emotion is here and cube has a lot to say about a lot of important things.
This is the best album by probably my favorite rock band of this era. I love every part of every track. Keith Moon’s drumming is absolutely incredible, he plays it like a lead instrument. Pete Townsend seems like his dream was to write broadway musicals, but he was cursed with being a rock star. Truly perfect
I did like this one. Steve Albini is a racist pos though and the first song is about raping a child so that’s kind of weird

A perfect expression of Nirvana’s music. The originals are laid bare and raw, and the covers truly shine here. No skip, perennial relisten, perfection.
This project is fun because you get to listen to an album you’ve never heard before and will never hear again.

Good, but ultimately forgettable
I like a lot of other Elvis Costello albums, but this one was fairly forgettable. Sort of like if someone made an album trying to be Elvis Costello

I really love the atmosphere, production, and theme of this album. Really fun to listen to and shows you what rap music can be. These guys were all so young it’s crazy. I like ODB’s funny voice
I try so hard to enjoy LED Zeppelin, but I just can’t get over that awful squawking, moaning voice. The greatest rock band in history, ruined by horrible singing.

A very good talking heads album that is at times a bit too avant garde for me. But the highs outweigh the lows by a wide margin. Lots of fun to listen to throughout and fun to dance to
