Good american punk and garage rock album from 1977. An album with song titles like "Ain't Nothin' to Do" and "Caught With the Meat In Your Mouth." You know what you'll get and won't be disappointed.

Young, Loud and Snotty is the first studio album by the American punk band Dead Boys. It was recorded and released in 1977 on Sire Records, produced by Genya Ravan. The album is the only Dead Boys album to chart, peaking at 189 on the Billboard 200 in November 1977. The album was included at #7 on the Rolling Stone "10 Greatest Punk Rock Albums" reader poll.

No prizes for guessing this is early punk. I'll try and keep an open mind. Ok I've heard sonic reducer before. Probably been covered by another band? Album overall is exactly as expected. Childish lyrics, bad playing, shit production, etc. These kinds of albums survive on vibe alone in 2025. And this vibe means pretty much nothing to me. Still, guess I now know exactly where Tim and Lars got half their shtick. 3/5.
Brilliant punk album. Classic
Classic punk. A bit surprised this wasn't on the original list. 4 stars.
Rating: 7/10 Best songs: Sonic reducer, Not anymore
An American punk classic
Good old school punk
Some 70s east coast punk rock that had some good musical skills on display. I liked it well enough and it seemed to be a good representative of the time, place and genre.
Punk rock. Ni fu ni fa.
Very young very loud and very snotty
This was a better than expected punk album. Which to me means it wasn’t as intense as some punk albums. Then again it is an older punk album so back then this may have been hardcore. Either way I enjoyed this one although some songs seemed a bit odd or immature. All in all better than most punk albums. 6/10
Fast, gritty, and uncaring – lives up to the album title for sure. Not the most groundbreaking punk LP I’ve heard, but a hell of a lot more exciting than other additions to this list
It's punk. Not my favorite genre by a mile but this is well done and a bit smarter than averave.
Eh this was ok punk music but not my favorite
3.5
Despite only being a touch over half an hour, this feels too long... The music is, as you'd expect from the title of album, quite heavy going. Perhaps it could be less fatiguing if it ever let up, but it doesn't seem to. Never heard of the band before, and in small doses I think they do alright, albeit without doing much new or innovative discernible from just listening to it. Can't help but feel maybe the suggestion came from some personal, rather than objective reason, and that's fine.
This may have seemed groundbreaking at the time, but now it sounds like another rote album of man yelling about things with fast guitar.
70s punk band, your imagination can do most of the heavy lifting. One of those things where if you were checked into their particular regional scene back in the day, I could maybe see getting attached to them, but when blitzing through all this stuff on streaming, it doesn't stand out even a little bit
