Motha fucking classic. Best I've listened to do far, one of my favorites of all time. When this popped up I was celebrating. 5 years may be the best opening to an album ever and probably my favorite song. Moonage daydream and starman will be classics forever. It's just perfect. Everything sounds top, mixing is great, will play this on repeat. Most underrated song is rock-'n'-roll suicide, 8/8.
Enjoyed a lot. Environmentalist, forward-thinking rock. I love the whole album top to bottom, only thing that I found weird was the song Take a Load Off Your Feet, but other than that everything was top notch. Disney Girls, Student Demonstration Time, and Long Promised Road are my favorite, Will revisit, and other than Take A load off your Feet I loved it top to bottom, even with weird songs like A Day in the life of a tree, 8/8.
Fucking loved it, Green River was great and Bad moon rising. Yeah, they're the biggest hits off the album but they are too fucking good. The whole project was great and, blending my love of folk and rock music. I am definitely biased here as this is my favorite era of rock, but it's my rating so who gives a fuck. I don't think it is perfect, but 5 stars because of the limitations of the rating system on the website. I will return to this in the future, 7.5/8.
I feel like a 60-year-old dad and it's great. Born in the USA is a classic, but a little too worn for me. I'm on Fire was Still nice, and refreshingly relaxed. The whole album is a fucking vibe I don't know what to say. I don't think it does anything particularly special, it just does everything well. No surrender/Glory Days are probably my favorites. Not perfect, but enjoyable as all hell, will be revisiting this, 7/8.
Good metal enjoyed it a lot. Crazy guitar solos and riffs. Nasty drums and grimy vocals, loved it. Favorite song, Dead Embryonic Cells. Will definitely be returning to the project when I'm in the mood, 6/8.
Good, fun listen. Although I have heard many of these songs to death it was still fresh listening. Not the most complex lyrically, but the guitar riffs and solos were incredible and straight-up cool. Favorite song is either Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution or Let Me Put My Love in You. I wouldn't say any song is bad, but You Shoot Me All Night Long and Back in Black were definitely somewhat annoying after listening to them for so long. TLDR fun, easy listening classic rock album, will revisit when in the mood, 6/8.
Laid back, excellent guitar, nice vocals and lyrics. A greatly composed album. Very enjoyable listen, 7/8. Like Sultans of Swing a lot.
Fuck Tom Sawyer is a good song. Fuck Red Barchetta is a good song. Carried by the first half of the album, although I enjoyed Witch Hunt. I wouldn't say the bottom of the album is bad, but it just starts so fucking strong with Tom Sawyer and Barchetta that it is hard for the rest of the album to match in quality. It's Rush, what can I say. Drums are fucking spectacular and riffs are clean as hell. Lyrics are great as the band comments on fame and societal pressure throughout the album. Favorite song Red Barchetta/Tom Sawyer. Least favorite The Camera Eye, goes on for too long for what it is. Overall 7/8.
Liked Sabotage and Flute Loop the most, great hip hop album. Wasn't able t read lyrics like I would like to, need to revisit the album in order to get a better knowledge of it. 6/8 (NOT FINAL)
Kinda long, enjoyed the listen, need to revisit, 5/8 for now, liked the opening track a lot.
Good country, love the sound and lyrical theme. Need to revisit the album to get a better understanding of the lyrics, but just the sound is enough for me to like it, 6/8 REVISIT
Enjoyed the listen, powerful messaging. Beautifully soft melodies with quiet guitar and hypnotizing drums. Enjoyed it a lot, 7/8.
Enjoyed it, the composition was weird and interesting. At certain points, it seemed like it was using digital drums? A nice dense piece of 80s rock that was very layered. Favorite song: Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken, overall 6/8
I don't listen to enough metal, I really enjoyed this. Songs were heavy but not overwhelming, but I need to revisit the project to get a better understanding. REVISIT.
While this project is massive in size, the song length and variety makes it an immensely pleasant listen. The album touches on topics like the Vietnam war, and at some points seems like a mix of soft metal, soft punk, punk, jazz and the combination of all of it. Probably my favorite listen so far. The diversity of the album makes me want to re listen to it over and over again. 8/8! favorite songs Corona, Dr.Wu.
I mean cmon, it's Nevermind. Fucking great, perfect Punk music Come as you are and Territorial Pissings are my favorite songs. Catchy and hypnotic songs, perfect for any mood, I will forever love this album, just feels like a warm blanket. Thanks for the music Kurt, RIP. 8/8
Good, favorite songs The Channeling, stereotypically 70s rock. Catchy, hypnotic songs laid back vibe. Liked it a lot but didn't love it. 6/8.
It's okay, I liked the first song, but something about the singers voice kind of turned me off. I didn't like how sleepy the album was and how boring the project was to me. Probably good for the time but listening to it now didn't do much for me. 4/8, favorite song I Zimbra.
I enjoyed it a lot. I don't really listen to a lot of synth-pop, but this album, especially the second half sounded epic. Will definitely be turning it on for some laid-back listens. Favorite songs: Sunrise, Elegia, 6/8.
A weird project, but I liked it. I felt like I was in a Disney movie while listening. Favorite song is Running up That Hill. The mix of synths, samples, 80s drums, and everything else makes the sound truly unique. I will be listening to it again. 7/8.
Stereotypical dad/stadium rock. but who doesn't love some of that. I wasn't blown out of the park because of the album, but that's not the point. It was fun laid laid-back, epic rock music. 6/8 will be playing it during a cookout.
I don't listen to much reggae, but I really enjoyed this. The vibes: present, the rhythm: strong, the Jamacia: yup. Favorite songs Lively Up Yourself and Talkin' Blues. This makes me excited for the possibility of more reggae on the list and I will be diving deeper into Bob Marley's discog. 6/8.
Loved this shit. Hit right where I wanted with a great folk-rock album. Favorite songs Tears of Rage and The Weight is a classic. I will definitely be re-listening to the album. Nothing that complex, just an enjoyable listening experience. 7/8. FROM HERE ON OUT ALBUMS WILL BE RATED HARSHER ON THE 5 POINT SCALE BASED ON HOW THEY RATE AS AN ALBUM SOMEONE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO BEFORE THEY DIE.
Enjoyed it, definitely a classic, but not my cup of tea. The weird miss of slow, grand songs with acoustics really threw me off, especially with something like Nothing Else Matters. Of course, Enter Sandman is a classic, and the guitar riffs and solos throughout the album are spectacular, but it wasn't really what I was looking for. 4/8
Liked it decently, nice to have it as one of the first hip-hop albums on the list. Feels find ahead of its time but weren't really what I was looking for. The slow vocal samples and delivery on songs like Pumpkin really didn't do it for me. Hell is Round the Corner has a classic beat, but the content wasn't really there. Didn't enjoy my listen and just wanted to get on to the next album.
This shit sound like mom alt-rock, kinda stuff you hear on the way home from second grade. You Oughta Know and Hand in My Pocket were smash hits, and Hand in my Pocket is probably my favorite song. I enjoyed it, but the songs seemed kind of basic and samey, might listen again 5/8.
Good metal enjoyed it a lot. Crazy guitar solos and riffs. Nasty drums and grimy vocals, loved it. Favorite song, Dead Embryonic Cells. Will definitely be returning to the project when I'm in the mood, 6/8.
Listened once, album length was daunting, NEED TO RELISTEN!
Enjoyed it, makes me want to listen to more cream. Sunshine of Your Love is a classic and my dad would always try to play the opening riff on guitar and this was the first time in a while I actually heard the song. Didn't think it was stellar, but I enjoyed the mixing, otherwise thought it was pretty standard, probably won't revisit but enjoyed my time with it, 5/8.
Groovy as fuck. Great instrumentation, I don't know if I have heard something like this before. Favorite songs The Big Ship and Golden Hours. Enjoyed my listen, 5/8.
Beautiful voice and soft guitar. Favorite songs This Flight Tonight and A Case of You. California is one of the greatest songs ever, and the project was nice. At a point though, the album started to melt together, 6/8 overall.
Well, I don't really like death metal. The fucking weird mouth noises and repetitive guitar riffs didn't sound good to me. Some of the drumming is nuts and I have no idea how the album would be played live with that kind of drumming, but it did make the album that much better for me. Favorite songs Caught..In A Dream and M.A.D. 2/8.
Interesting jazz album, definitely need to LISTEN AGAIN, only got one listen in.
Enjoyed it, gave me heavy Johny Meyer vibes. Favorite songs pink moon and Free Ride. Love the acoustic and somewhat dreary mood of the project. Will revisit when I'm looking for something more laid back, 6/8.
Enjoyed the project but definetly need to listen again, too backed up with albums to try and listen to again. Favorite song: I Built This Garden For Us, 6/8.
Funky, I liked it. Weird mix of electronic hip hop, but done well. Probably won't revisit but I liked it. 5/8 overall, fav song The New Pollution
I liked it, cool punk rock project. Will probably not relisten, but I might check out the artist because of how I liked it. Favorite song Sludgefest, overall 6/8.
I like it, so far this list has done little other than solidifying my love for punk. This project doesn't sound super different than other punk albums, but it did come before many so it gets a pass. Favorite song helter skelter, 6/8.
I liked it, but I can't really just listen to 45 minutes of dance music. I didn't listen to the whole project. It seemed like it pulled from some serious hip hop influences and I liked give the po man a break. Good album, just not for me, 4/8.
It was okay, but not my type. None of this project was that memorable to me. I think Heat Miser was my favorite song, but I don't really understand this kind of music. 3/8.
"I'm headed back with my pet rat" I dont know, the album was fine but nothing special. Nothing stood out to me other than Im headed back with my pet rat. 3/8.
Fuck yea, JAZZ BABY! This shit was great. Love to add another jazz album to the list. The whole thing was just smooooth. For me though, I do not remember individual songs that much on a jazz album, but I'll just go with Part Of A Whole as my favorite. 7/8.
Good alternative album, I liked it a lot. I don't really know why it's on the top 1001 list though. Favorite song: Filmore Jive, least favorite: Hit the plane down. Sound was pretty generic and predictable but the project was still enjoyable, 6/8.
Funk is fun as hell and I have not listened to it before. As my frame of reference for funk, I feel like this bar is very high. The only other exposure I have is Awaken My Love and I think this meets that on a funk level. Will Revisit, no favorite songs, 7/8.
I liked it a lot. Like a lot. I will relisten. Cool sounds, made me feel like I was in a movie. Don't know why it's on the list but I'm happy I found it. 7/8, fav song, (don't know).
I used to say I didn't like country music because of people like Florida Georgia Line, but listening to people like George Jones has changed that. I enjoyed this, not my favorite, but it made me appreciate the genre a lot more. It's soft and delicate, with themes of love and religion. Favorite song The Grand Tour, 5/8.
Didn't like it much, not what I'm looking for. It sounded pretty cool but I find it hard to listen to a full album of music I can't understand. 3/8, fav track NONE.
Pretty chill R&B album, liked it. DIdn't listen too hard but that's kind of the point. Enjoyed it, won't come back. 4/8, favorite song: Smooth Operator.
A classic, definitely enjoyed my listen. The switch in the first song from acoustic to electric is killer, and Master of Puppets is an incredible song. Deserves to be on this list, 7/8,fav song master of puppets.
This shit a classic. Let's get it on is an ultra classic. The sound is just so perfect. Gaye is just so perfect. I dont know how you make something this smooth. 7/8 favorite song: Distant Lover.
I liked it, cool indie album. Nice sound. Not really sure what my favorite song is but I think I'll revisit. 6/8.
Feels like the soundtrack to an 80s movie. As synth-pop is pretty cool but not really my thing. Cars is a classic and probably my favorite song on the album. 5/8, respect its popularity but not my thing.
Don't like this first song. Second song is slightly better. I like valet parking. Album got better as it went on but didnt think it was super great, 5/8.
What the fuck is the ending on cta -102. It was okay and weird. Definitely sounded like the time it was produced. Won't revisit, didn't think it was anything spectacular. 3/8.
Good Times a fucking banger and a classic! Cool and funky, nice and consice. Loved some of the songs on this. Probably won't revisit but I like this kind of music. Fav dong Good Times, 6/8.
Intro to The Power of Equality goes hard, nice bassline too. Love the album, Under the Bridge is one of my favorite songs. Give It Away is a classic. Album is solid and fucking filled with sexual innuendos. I love RHCP but as a whole, the album didn't impress me as much as I thought it would, still solid though, 6/8.
Honestly, thought I would like it better. I had a hard time paying attention and not a whole lot stuck out to me. Rough to rate, but I think it's about a 4/8.
Project was weird, not in a good way. Didn't like most of it, don't want to hear it again. Favorite song rainbirds, liked how soft it was. 3/8.
Liked it as my introduction to Indian music. Don't really know what subgenres there are but the sound was cool. The concept of the album was interesting and a great way to introduce a western audience to the genre. Will probably relisten if I want to listen to Indian music, 5/8. Favorite song An Introduction to Indian Music.
Love this shit. It makes me love Chicago rap even more. Common talks about real shit as cringy as that sounds, and features Kanye all over the album, notching it higher in my book. Bars are smooth as hell, beats are the same. Be, Chi-City and They Say are the best songs. There is probably heavy bias here because of how much I love this kind of music, but fuck it it's my rating, 8/8, a hip hop classic.
It's okay, I don't want to listen to it more than once. The only version I could find was the deluxe edition and it was too long. Probably liked shades of Gray the most. 4/8.
I liked this one a lot. It was some chilled-out ambient rock if that's a thing. Will look to it if I just want some quiet goodness in the background. favorite song, probably Isi because it really set the tone, 6/8 my kind of music.
IT's okay, I really don't want to listen to the birds right now, especially after hearing their last album not too long ago. It's about 5/8, not going to listen again. Mr.Spaceman was okay.
It's nuts that this band existed. But this list is like 90% 60#-70s classic rock and my enjoyment of this kind of music is slowly eroding. I need something different and new. Not a bad project but it's just kind of a drop in the pond, 4/8.
don't care for it. Is not something I would listen to for pleasure. Weird without a purpose. Favorite song, Deep Water, 3/8.
