I like this album a lot! 4 or 5 stars.

Jam. not a lot of words, which is nice, and good vocal variety (flute, etc). Not really what I reach for first, but it's growing on me. Damn, they had to end with a flute song. +1 star for that.

4? a classic, and one im voluntarily listening to twice. At its best moments it sounds like its peer the decemberists, but IDK if it has had quite the emotional reaction from me as them.

Too cool coming right after the other album with the high pitched guy. His sound is much more approachable, and I gave the other guy 4 so I expect at least a 4 here. Actually htis is an album about death and I found it incredibly distressing. Woof, I might still give it a 4 but I won't give it a relisten.

I would think they would have picked FLOOD their 1990 album with birdhouse, istanbul, etc. 3 or 4, if only because I never made the connection between Decemberists and Cake and TMBG kinda being at the intersection of each of them.

Memorably, one of the duo looks uncannily like Stan Lee. Expecting another bland, homogeneous 80's hit. 3. I'll bump it to 4. It's a great work listen, relatively few words and very musically forgettable. That damn "coke" sound effect that you hear everywhere came from here! Go figure.
