An absolute classic If hip-hop is supposed to be a window into the streets, ILLMATIC sounds, feels, and even fucking SMELLS like NYC in the '90s. When the war against the Disney-fication of NY was still being waged. By 1994 hip-hop was nationwide but Nas grabbed the mantle and brought it back home.
Sabotage was the biggest rock radio hit of the summer of 1994 Let that sink in...recorded while Kurt Cobain was still alive...the number one rock radio song of the summer... ...was The Beastie Boys. In addition, Root Down, Sure Shot, Get it Together, Flute Loop, Heart Attack Man, Tough Guy...? Look. I was 20. I'm biased.
This is the bombastic, pervasive power rock pop album that dominated my youth. The only album which tackles topics such as a dude trying to get his girlfriend he doesn't love to bang him, while also bring advertised on the backs of late 70s marvel comics. It gets 3 stars because this is the only album on this list to feature the vocals of legendary Yankee broadcaster Phil Rizzutto
Wut? Terrible beats under some British dude.
It sounds like one of the top 25 albums of 2006, until you realize it was from 1995. This sound lived on

It's low hanging fruit to say electronic albums are repetitive, but this is repetitive. Maybe it was groundbreaking in 1999, but it doesn't seem so.
I liked the non-hits as much as the hits, but the entire album is knocked down one star by the TV dinner mess of a song.
I'm sure this is wonderful, but it's not my cup of tea
Although not what you mould consider an album by modern standards, this is an amazing collection of Old Blue Eyes.
I recognize that in 1966 this was wild. Sounds a few years early. The surf rock riff on a psych album blew my mind
Maybe everything that came after was derivative, and this was trend setting, but I was bored
Closing with a Little Richard cover is an absolutely bizarre choice
1:49 for a one hit wonder that doesn't contain the hit? Nope
I'm sure if I was white trash from a trailer park, this would be my jam. But I'm not
I have had zero exposure to this band outside of the one hit, and I pleasently surprised with how fresh this felt
There are some highs here...but the lows are LOW. A bunch of cringe on this album
He wears scary makeup! Yay...I mean yawn. This is a generic rock album
An absolute classic. I've listened to this 100x.
Holy crap! I never heard this before?!?!? This is brilliant!
Suzanne has a great voice and lyrics, but the music was a bit bland

These seem like songs Dave wrote for Nirvana, so it's a window into Nirvana without Kurt. Good, but not great.
I can't even tell what genra this is, but I know it's dull
What a weird album. They lead with the worst songs, and throw all the bangers in the back. And to top it off, MOTHER is an abomination, and cost them a star. But when it's good it's great.
Wut? Terrible beats under some British dude.
It may not be their best album, but it is Radiohead's perfect, "no skip" album.
I don't dislike it at the normal 2 star level, but the problem is, if you're going to do 90 minutes, you at least have to have a few songs that GRAB you, which this doesn't have. It just goes on and on and on remaining passable but never great.
Highway Star is the most underrated Hard Rock song of all time Smoke on the Water is a classic

Q:. What if Queen made a Led Zeppelin album? A: It would suck.
