Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Dec 13 2022

Big opener and closer. Odd country version of Honkey Tonk Woman, and and decent chilled numbers. Enjoyed this.

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Dec 14 2022

Started really strongly, and there’s some absolutely belting tracks on here. Doesn’t quite hold it together for me over the length of the album though.

High Violet by The National
Dec 15 2022

On first listen this was an album that I admired rather than loved. Will definitely give it a few more goes though.

John Prine by John Prine
Dec 16 2022

Definitely not an album I would have chosen to listen, and it hasn’t really changed my mind about country music not really being for me. Simple songs, some funny lines, and an interesting political stance on a few tracks. If this fella was playing a festival stage I’d sit and have a drink while he played. Not likely to listen to the album again.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Dec 19 2022

Amazing voice, beautiful songs.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Dec 20 2022

Collection of absolute bangers. Like Phil Spector and Roman Polanski, a real example of the ethical dilemma in trying to separate an individual from their art.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Dec 21 2022

Lovely songs. Amazing voice. Textbook. Didn’t get a chance to listen to all 3 hours, but will return for the rest.

The Band by The Band
Dec 30 2022

Songs had a timeless quality to them, which left me surprised that I hadn’t heard them before. Will return to this album.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Jan 03 2023
At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jan 05 2023

Bit noodly and twiddly for my liking, but clearly brilliant musicianship with a few highlights.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Jan 06 2023

Really enjoyed this - having never heard anything about it before. Will definitely revisit, and check out some other Bob Mould stuff while I’m at it.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jan 10 2023

Still struggling to find the country album that really gets me going. Feels like a collection of assorted demos and outtakes.

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 11 2023

Pretty much a perfect album. A welcome re-listen.

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Jan 12 2023

Another banger of an album that was a re-listen.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Jan 13 2023

Enjoyed this a lot. Nice beats, but a few problematic lyrics that feel very much of their time.

21 by Adele
Jan 16 2023

The Adele album that has my favourite songs of hers - wish we’d see a little more of the Rumour Has It and Rolling in the Deep banging soul side of her more often.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Jan 17 2023

A little overlong for me, with a few diversions that didn’t quite hold me. The highlights are incredible though. Probably one to enjoy over time and allow to develop.

Vivid by Living Colour
Jan 18 2023
Smash by The Offspring
Jan 23 2023

Brought back awesome memories despite only remembering a couple of songs. Must have heard in full at some point, but this felt new to me. Great record.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jan 24 2023

Really want to spend time with this to get more from the lyrics. Some of the beats are amazing.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Jan 26 2023

Interesting album, but a little too meandering and moody for me to rush to listen again. Prefer their slightly later stuff.

Ramones by Ramones
Jan 30 2023

Absolute bangers and only half an hour long. Great album.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Feb 02 2023

Singles are great. Remember at the time being a little disappointed following the brilliance of I Should Coco, but time (and age) have clearly mellowed me. Really enjoyed this.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Feb 03 2023
Boston by Boston
Feb 14 2023

A lot more fun than I was expecting!

Closer by Joy Division
Feb 15 2023
Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 20 2023
Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Feb 27 2023
Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Mar 01 2023

Perfectly pleasant background music. Not sure I’m chemically altered to truly appreciate it though…

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Mar 14 2023

Superstition aside, I was a little underwhelmed. Prefer Wonder’s funky soulful stuff to his ballads.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Mar 20 2023
Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Mar 23 2023
1977 by Ash
Mar 24 2023
KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Apr 18 2023
Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Apr 25 2023

I’m glad this album exists. I’m also glad that I never have to listen to it again. Sounds like a soundscape for an art installation that I don’t *quite* understand. Just when a sign starts to form, it disappears. Better than another Maroon 5 album though.

Damaged by Black Flag
Jun 07 2023

Clash vibes. Which was great.

Heroes by David Bowie
