Classic album from my youth. Great 90s rock/grunge album.
Favorite tracks:
Let Me Drown
My Wave
Black Hole Sun
Spoon man
The Day I Tried to Live
The album has a good vibe. The band has a distinctive sound with some new wave influence in there. Good music for chilling at a bonfire or taking a road trip.
Favorite tracks:
The Suburbs
Ready to Start
Modern man
Empty Room
Half Light II
Suburban War
Month of May
We Used to Wait
Sprawl II
The best album from the Indie Rock era, period.
The only song on this album I’m not a big fan of is “Everything Will Be Alright”.
Catchy disco/funk music album, but nothing special.
Tracks I like:
He's the Greatest Dancer
We Are Family
Not Bowie's best album. I was not a big fan of most of the songs, including the cover of "Let's Spend the Night Together" that we didn't need.
Tracks I liked:
Watch That Man
Time
Great 90s rock album, although maybe not enough meat on the bone for a double-disc.
Tracks I like:
Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness
Tonight
Zero
Here is No Why
Bullet With Butterfly Wings
An Ode to No One
Muzzle
Bodies
Thirty-Three
1979
A fun hard rock album. I like that they don't take themselves too seriously.
Tracks I like:
The Age of Pamparius
Selfdestructo Blast
Rock Against Ass
Prince of the Rodeo
Monkey On Your Back
This one is a little out there for me, but it's an interesting sound and there is a beauty to some of it.
Tracks I like:
Staralfur
Viorar Vel Til Loftarasa
Olsen Olsen
Definitely not my kind of music. The repetitiveness of it triggers my misophonia so a lot of the music is anxiety-inducing to me. It sounds like they create a beat and have a contest to see who can layer more stuff onto it. A perfect example is Chico's groove, which has a good beat but then gets ruined by a bunch of zaps and noises dumped on top of it.
Tracks I didn't completely hate:
Chico's Groove
One Too Many Mornings
Not a bad album, but nothing special. It's something I could have on in the background while I am working on something else.
Tracks I liked:
Nightblindness
This Year's Love
This is one of the greatest albums ever made, and certainly the best pop album of all time.
The only track on this album I'm not a big fan of is "The Girl is Mine".
This is an incredible album, and I can't believe I had never heard of this band before. They have a unique sound that sometimes borders on orchestral, and I like the stream-of-consciousness lyrics in the songs. Just an all-around good, groovy sound to them.
Normally I list tracks I like off these albums but I'm just going to say all of them for this one.
This album is alright. Nothing to write home about. I'm not a big fan of the beats, as the producer seems to like to lay discordant samples over what is otherwise a decent beat. The lyrics are okay, but not great. It's listenable is about all I can say.
Tracks I liked:
Perverted Monds In Tha House (Theme)
Ain't the Devil Happy
Jungle Music
A decent alternative album. Nothing special or notable about it.
Tracks I like:
For Tomorrow
Advert
It's the Beatles. It's 5 stars.
Tracks I liked:
The whole album
As someone who is not a fan or electronica/electronic music, this album was a pleasant surprise. While it still had too much of one sample running over and over for 3 minutes on some of the tracks, a lot of the album was more musical.
Tracks I liked:
Porcelain
South Side
Rushing
Bodyrock
Run On
Everloving
Guitar Flute & String
The Sun Never Stops Setting
A great stripped-down American folk album with really well-written songs.
The title track of this album is fantastic, but as much as I love the Temptations I wasn't very into the rest of the album.
It was a lot of the same noises over and over again on each track. I didn't like anything about it.
This is album isn't bad but isn't great. It seems like he was recording ideas for songs that he never really finished. I'd rather listen to the Beatles.
Tracks I liked:
Momma Miss America
Maybe I'm Amazed
A fantastic country & western album, stripped down to the essentials. I loved the whole thing.
I can see why he became popular, but I am not a fan.
Beats were mediocre and it only got worse when the guy started “rapping” over them.
If pretentiousness made an album, it would sound a lot like this.
It's the Beatles. It's 5 stars.
Not his best album, but it's still very solid.
Solid album with a message.
Pop music like this is not for me. I had to suffer through my sisters listening to this album over and over growing up. They aren't terrible songs, definitely catchy, but very over-produced.
