Highway 61 Revisited
Bob DylanI fucking hate Bob Dylan.
I fucking hate Bob Dylan.
"1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" and you want me to waste precious minutes of my life listening to fucking Coldplay?! Are you fucking serious? This list sucks
Listened to this when it came out. Didn't get it then, don't get it now. Just some dude talking about his dick over discordant jazz. Nah thanks
Are ye fuckin serious
Haven't listened to this since I obsessively listened to "The End Of The World As We Know It" back when Independence Day came out
Heard before, don't mind it, not a fan of Jagger though
I fucking hate Bob Dylan.
Only been doing this three days and already had two Stones albums
Never vibed with the Beasties. Adam's voice grates on my soul
Been doing this for 6 days and I've had three Rolling Stones albums. Am I going to listen to 500 fucking Stones records before I'm done?
Sounds like a kid who's just discovered the 'samples and sound effects' buttons on their first keyboard. I preferred when they were making plans for Nigel
"1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" and you want me to waste precious minutes of my life listening to fucking Coldplay?! Are you fucking serious? This list sucks
Worked in a record shop as a teenager where half the staff worshipped this album. Never been a big favourite of mine but it's grand
Worked in a record shop for this whole decade and I consider most 00s indie to be a war crime
Heard this many times over the years and always had passing respect for it, more of a "don't mind it being on but wouldn't put it on myself" kinda thing. But I enjoyed it more than I remembered!
KLF following Happy Mondays is alright by me
I hate this prick
Still can't believe we lost Sinéad and Shane in the same year. Ireland says fuck 2023
Absolute banger, even if it does go a bit Blackpool Pier at times
Somehow this band has always passed me by, despite liking many similar-sounding alternative 80s bands. Really dug this
90s hip hop was more my jam but this still slaps
This was one album I didn't need to listen to, been playing it for like 25 years now. Absolute classic. Strong chance of being the best album on this list
Not to be a hipster but I hated Kanye before it was cool. Jesus Walks is a banger though, I'll concede that
Speaks to just how great this album is that I give it 5* despite Billy Corgan's godawful voice. I am frequently haunted by the idea of how incredible the Pumpkins could have been with a decent singer
Haven't listened to this since I obsessively listened to "The End Of The World As We Know It" back when Independence Day came out
Nu Rave was an abomination
Fairly standard 60s psychedelic rock. Was grand but it kinda faded into the background while I listened.
Listened to this when it came out. Didn't get it then, don't get it now. Just some dude talking about his dick over discordant jazz. Nah thanks
Used to listen to Peter Gabriel a lot with my Dad. Not this album though. Preferred the earlier stuff
Never really got on with this. Always reminded me of the stuff my mates would make on their Amiga music programs.
Y'know despite probably having heard like 80% of everything The Beatles ever released, I'm not sure how often I've sat down and listened to one of their actual ALBUMS - it's always been the countless collections they've released over the years, or a carefully-curated playlist of b-sides and rarities that one of my record shop colleagues put together to impress people. So I think this is the first time I've ever actually listened to Revolver despite being familiar with nearly all the songs. For starters I didn't even know Yellow Submarine was on this album, which is still absolutely appalling and will forever stand as testament to why you should never take so many drugs that you let the drummer do a song. Rest of it's grand though
Lads this is just a bit TOO Country
Out of that amazing wave of 90s female artists - Tori, PJ, Björk etc - Apple is the one I just didn't really get.
This album SLAPS
First album I ever owned back when it came out Still great
Never been able to get on with Hannon's weird smarmy smug delivery. Though he will always have my respect for My Lovely Horse
Are ye fuckin serious
Love this album but last time I listened to it I was sat by the water in Menorca drinking a cold beer. Doesn't really hit the same listening to it at home
An artist that's always passed me by but I actually really dug this. Will listen again
Took me a while to get into when it first came out, but it's a great record
Weird 60s experimental hippie stuff. Don't have much to say about it to be honest. S'alright.
Absolute classic
This man is a talentless scrotum and a live album is not an album.
Listened to Fela Kuti before but this album was new to me. Brilliant stuff
Hadn't heard of this artist before but enjoyed this. Could have lived without the spoken word interludes but that's just a personal bugbear I have with them in general
90s metal is absolutely my jam - I even used to be in a band that covered a song from this album - but I never liked Incubus. Too much hippy shit
Absolute straight classic. Bought this on import when it came out and saw their first ever UK show in a college bar in London. Still slaps
It's a shame most people only know them for 'More Than A Feeling' because this whole album is amazing
Love The Kinks, though I prefer the first few albums to this one. Bit more riffy
Remember all the buzz about this when it came out. Honestly didn't get it then, still don't get it now
Somehow despite having heard a million records Steve Albini produced, I never listened to Big Black. This is fucking GREAT
Always been a band I respect more than I like. Loads of friends are mad into them, don't mind them being on, but I wouldn't put it on myself
Whenever people say "The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?" the correct answer is always "T Rex'
My previous knowledge of James Taylor is that Taylor Swift likes him
Lads I can't. I just can't. I worked in a record shop when this came out and I heard this album so many times, sometimes I wake up screaming and I swear Rumour Has It is quietly playing somewhere in my house
Wikipedia says this album was a 'critical and commercial failure' upon release. I'm on the '78 critics side
Blur: Are Shite
First time hearing this. I like the Post more than the Punk but I'll be checking out more records from their discography
Paul Rodgers is one of the finest singers in Rock history
Spent most of the 80s listening to this thanks to my Ma blasting her tape of it around the house. Still find it a bit hit and miss but the hits slap
S'grand but I prefer my riots to sound a lot noisier
Alex Turner's Ma was my Spanish teacher. Yes this is a review
Not actually my favourite Sabbath album but it's still an absolute banger. That opening one-two of War Pigs / Paranoid is pretty hard to beat
A frustrating listen as the discordant parts just straight up suck. And that's not me disliking discordance, I listen to Industrial Drone for fun... these guys just aren't good at it. The actual songs are decent though
The main thing I remember about Roxy Music is being rather enamoured with the vinyl artwork in my parent's collection as a young lad
Love this album but still not sure why it sounds like a kettle is going off for the whole record
Lads this is TOO country
Like beige in musical form
Absolute goddamn fucking masterpiece
Pulp for Southeners
As an old goth I am contractually obliged to give this 5 stars
XTRMNTR was their only good album
Not my favourite Zep but still a pure banger
WHO STRUCK MY MOTOR CAAAARRRR
