Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Wu-Tang ClanPretty interesting album to start with. Holds up incredibly well to time and was bouncing the whole time I had it on.
Pretty interesting album to start with. Holds up incredibly well to time and was bouncing the whole time I had it on.
Overall song writing and impact it had on the times are unquestionable. Rating a bit on a hard scale since I know these albums will be amazing.
Chill album and a fun listen but didn’t particularly move me in way I expect some of these albums will. Overall an excellent combination of instruments and vocals for easy listening. The hour flew by fairly quickly.
Growing up during this era, I was never the biggest fan of her music so I really did not expect this album to slap as hard as it did. Packed with hits I remember from my past and a wide range of emotion tones. This album surprised me. I don’t think I’ll listen to it more as a result of this listen but when a song comes on, I’ll have a much better appreciation for the complete album.
Just an amazing album from a defining group of its time. Biggest complaint was that I wanted it to be longer so I could keep listening.
Fun listen and a pretty rocking album. Overall think I have other albums of theirs I like slightly more.
Interesting sound for the times and probably would have been a better fit for me at a more relaxed, chill time
Fun album that hit so many different vibes and notes but without feeling disjointed or scattered. This was a really fun weekend listen that I put on for the whole house.
This album really made me feel Alive. Iconic album with a pretty unique sound. These guys rock.
Not really a big fan of this. The lyrics seem very simple and repetitive, nothing really innovative or ground breaking. First album I have been glad to be done with.
Definitely gave me flash backs to high school and overall a solid album but nothing spectacular.
Listened in the kitchen with the kiddo and it was a really fun album. Nothing ground breaking or completely unique but sounds that have stood up to time.
From a different era. Enjoyed it some but wouldn’t listen again.
Generally pretty open to a lot of types of music but wasn’t feeling the vibe. Might have been the time and place but wasn’t hitting for me. After reading a bit about the artist while listening, I definitely got a much larger appreciation for the artist (a drummer that fell from window and was in a wheelchair).
Great vibe and flow from the early days of rap. Recognized a few songs but didn’t get introduced to rap till much later and hadn’t heard most of this album. Easy to listen to, smooth flow and enjoyable.
Smooth, consistent beats. These rhythms were solid and the flow was relentless. This album flew by but nothing stood out as a potential hit or song for the radio.
I would probably give this a 4.5 if I could but it didn’t quite have enough to get to a 5. Really enjoyed this album and it’s always a surprise when you find something fairly new dispute growing up when this was released. Fun with different levels and vibes.
Fun vibes but I had never heard any of it.
I recognize the name Cypress Hill but didn’t know most of this album. Probably my least favorite rap album so far but has some good flows. I can imagine it was innovative for the time but didn’t stand the test of time as well as other albums from their era.
Really nothing to be said but amazing and a masterpiece.
Some fun jazz and definitely influential but it doesn’t grab me as something I could listen to regularly. I imagine watching this live would be an 11/10.
Fun, upbeat vibe with just enough stick it to the man. Didn’t have some of his most famous songs but still a great album that kinda faded into my day and provided a great backdrop without ever feeling like too much.
Super iconic sound. Definitely a vibe and how much you will enjoy the music will greatly depend on your state of mind at the time. I think I prefer their other album so giving it a 4 but you always know a Rage song.
Great vocals and I recognize some of her more recent songs but hadn’t heard most of this one. Not my general genre of music but overall very good.
Enjoyed this more than I expected. Easy listening vibes but upbeat and fun. Nothing overly memorable but the album was a great backdrop to some chores and a dog walk. Just faded into the day really easy. Jumping back and forth between a 3 or 4 since nothing jumped out but really enjoyed.
Certainly from a different era. Now a days I would only hear something like that in an SNL skit. I can appreciate classics but I think there is a reason this music has kinda been lost.
I have mixed feeling about the White Stripes and this album. I really like the musically and would rate the instruments almost a 5/5. But the lyrics just don’t do it for me. Like a 2/5 for me.
Very interesting especially given the year it was created. Didn’t love it but found it interesting and fun at points. Don’t know if I’ll revisit it often.
Great album I knew a few songs from but never could have identified. Really enjoyed this album. Learned later it was one of Kelly and her family’s favorites in the era.
Never heard of this group at all and I think if you have told me goth rock, I would have told you “no thanks” but I enjoyed this album and thought that a lot of the things they were doing can be seen in modern end.
Tough to track down the full album anywhere so had to pull each up on YouTube. A cool mix of funk and social message. I enjoyed the music but found myself vibing more to the earlier songs by them that would come up next on YouTube. 3/5 album but I’ll definitely check out more by them.
Some classic tracks that hold up, and crisp flows with complex but generally pretty clear to follow. Crazy to think this guy is selling home goods with Martha Stewart now and has a line of red wines.
Hmmm this album provided a nice backdrop but was a little unremarkable in my opinion compared to other things by Bruce.
Solid AC/DC sound throughout and a fun album. I was surprised there were so few hits on it but it had all their identity.
Great musicality and vibes but the album overall was a little scattered. Enjoyed it and would throw it on again.
Solid vocals but nothing that captured me too much. Album title track was probably my favorite.
Fun, funky but definitely different than I expected from Stevie Wonder. Enjoyable but not my favorite of his stuff.
Wow from a different time. 25 min run time and all. Not sure it held up great but fun and I would have been been jamming to it in the 50’s.
Super fun album with a number of 5/5 songs. Loved the different vibes and speeds. Super talented musician having a lot of fun.
A number of songs that have transitioned to the classic rock stations. Back in the day never really being a “fan” of this band but knew their music. I really enjoyed listening to this full album.
Not my favorite who album. The background behind it was interesting but it didn’t do a ton for me.
This album really has it all. Experimentation, storytelling and amazing music. Still so unique to this day, I can’t imagine listening to it when it came out.
This album is definitely a mood and probably isn’t as universally popular or timeless as the other albums that have been 5 for me so far. But IF you are in the mood for this space journey it will be a perfect 5/5.
Upbeat and fun with punk vibes. Was interesting listening with Kelly since she knew the whole album from high school. Enjoyed the album overall.
Fun, rocking and great lyrics. Had to listen to this over a couple days but really enjoyed it. Might need to revisit in a single sitting soon.
Solid album but nothing that stood out as transcending or culture shifting. That sounds harsh for an album I enjoyed but with this list you have to grade on a curve.
Highly experimental and varied album. I find this very hard to rate because the things that worked, worked so well they became cultural icons. However, some of the other stuff didn’t seem to hold up as well. I’m leaning more to crediting the experiments that because mainstream than the experimental stuff that didn’t quite hit.
An album that really defined a band for a generation. I don’t remember when this album was released since I was too young but even their later albums just oozed 90s vibe. Not my favorite band but an amazingly talented group.
Amazing flows, solid beats and lots of innovation.
Enjoyed this more than I expected. Kinda a weird sound for the era in my opinion. At first I thought they are a 90’s band but turned out to be much earlier.
First album in a long time I have considered not finished. Listened to about 2/3 and just wasn’t vibing with it. Decided to read a little bit about the history to figure out why it would be on this list. I see the Pink Floyd vibes now but it just feels like 1-2 acid trips too far for me.
Came in with an open mind and the vocals are strong but really never totally felt the vibe. I think it’s more a me thing than her not being talented.
Could not help but tap my toe and dance along to this whole album. A funky mix of disco meets Latin music. I loved it.
Short and sweet album but left me wanting a little more.
Wow pretty incredible album. I really enjoyed jamming out to this. Couple of classics but the whole thing felt great.
Fun vibes and some interesting songs. No anything I’ll think of often but definitely had a solid work jam to it.
Pretty classic Bob. Great song writing and lyrics. So-so singing.
Incredibly solid album from a distinctive sounding group. I didn’t listen to this album at the time so I didn’t really realize so many of these songs were on a single album.
Interesting Cabernet style music. Wouldn’t listen to it often but was interesting and she has a very talented voice.
Solid voice but the music didn’t really grab me.
Never heard any of this album but dug it and thought it had a great vibe. Funky and upbeat. Really fun.
Overall I enjoyed this album more than I expected but that probably says more about my expectations. Most popular song on it isn’t my favorite.
Innovative and fun. Pretty cool to learn this is the longest activity running rap group ever.
Potentially over rating this album slightly based on experience since my dad was a big fan. They never had the fanfare of Pink Floyd or other tops groups but were doing a lot of similar things.
Innovative and distinctive but I’m not sure it had the staying power it could have. Overall I enjoyed this listen and can see a lot of modern things in the music but it falls a bit short of great.
I think I’ll probably say the same thing for all the Bob Dylan we get. Love the songs, not a big fan of his voice/perfomance.
Amazing live album and really shows off the true range and musical talent of the group.
Very fun album that has some staying power due to wedding and events like that. But nothing felt to impactful or groundbreaking.
Great album but never been my favorite vibe or sound. I expect many will put this as a 5 star but stays a solid 4 for me.
Knew this album had some hits but was surprised at how many of these songs I knew and how quickly the album went by.
Relaxed and fun vibe. Solid harmonies and song lyrics but felt a bit similar overall.
Solid album but not my favorite Bob
Smooth with some incredible guitar and some jammy vibes. Great album but lacked many songs that transcended on their own to become hit (outside of Layla obviously).
Hair banger rock at its finest. It’s pretty impossible to not get pumped listening to this and it manages to keep the energy up throughout the album without it feeling one note or getting old. Only 33 mins long but I enjoyed every minute.
Strong Beatles influence which was fun to listen to but didn’t have as much of their more iconic vibe.
Solid album with a very distinctive and enduring sound. Wasn't my favorite growing up but respect the staying power.
Solid jams. Didn’t jump out at me.
Great stones album with a few standouts.
