Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 11 2024

I liked it. I found it as a nice introduction to the sound of Marley for someone who hasn't heard his music before. I was happily stunned when Marley scream-singing at the start of the album. No Woman No Cry was okay, I prefer the live version but again, it is a nice intro to Marley's sound. The thing about reggae music is that it all kinda sounds the same to me. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the musicianship and love that went into this album. While listening, I couldn't help but think about how proud and loved Marley was by brothers and sisters from Jamaicans. I've never been to Jamaica but I can definitely sense the essence of what it means to be a Jamaican.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jan 12 2024

It was classic americana. Funny, infectious, and jammy (like a soft boiled egg). I don’t understand the constant reference to rain but i like it. the first 1/3 or the album is alright but it becomes the ear worthy album that it is the rest of the way there. I’m astonished at how fun and timeless this album is!

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jan 15 2024

I've listen to that before and I can tell you that it is a classic!

The Next Day by David Bowie
Jan 16 2024

A somber reminder of the pain that David went through during his health scares. Blackstat,I believe is the acceptance of his fate but The Next Day is the struggle accepting his own mortality. Tones of reflection and death, you can't help but think of what a traumatic time Bowie was going through

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Jan 22 2024

a fun a cute record that gets the basics right!

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Jan 23 2024

Fun but only real memorable song is their classic, "we are family"!

Jan 24 2024

Wow Wow Wow. You know when people talk about how "The Godfather" is THE movie and has inspired all future movies. I think Here Come The Warm Jets has a lineage that has effected modern and contemporary music. I am astounded by the production, recording of the mics, the innovation of cutouts during a song. This album sound like it could have been produced in 2024 and it could fit in this era's style of music. My issues with this album is the slower pacing song have a weak lyrical component to it but when the instrumentals take over, they are center stage and killing it!!!

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Jan 25 2024

Interesting mix of genre. I get a big Beck vibe off of it. I liked it but wished for more.

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Jan 29 2024

Wow! why haven't I listened to this album before!! I am floored by the different influences he pulled from the Beatles, Nick Drake, etc.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jan 30 2024

I think this album is a window of time where radiohead pushed there limits and advanced the idea of what a rock band could sound like. I'm familiar with Pyramid Song but when taking it in with the rest of the album, you get the sense of how much work and thoughtfulness it took to nail this album.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Feb 05 2024

I prefer this album than Natty Dread. The production sound more fleshed out, precise, and cleaner.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Feb 06 2024

fun! shows how talented Snoop is/was since the get-go.

Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence
Feb 07 2024

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Feb 08 2024

Beautiful, different, so in it's own world! I loved the different styles and genre scattered through out the album! Rufus really brought it!

Imagine by John Lennon
Feb 27 2024

I didn't expect to hear songs in the style of Imagine. I always thought of JL's solo work to be Beatle-esq but I enjoyed the 50's inspired songs, along with the more somber sounding tracks

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
Feb 29 2024

I still don't get this album. It's like adults making music with kids toys.

Difficult to listen to but I respect the boundaries they pushed

Jan 06 2026

Classic, I've heard this album of this is the first time i've listen to it in one sitting. I like the electric bobby. I forgot Outlaw Blues was on here and remembered that there's a timothee chalamet rendition of outlaw blues that is fantastic. You can find it on Youtube. Anyway, love it.
