I liked it. I found it as a nice introduction to the sound of Marley for someone who hasn't heard his music before. I was happily stunned when Marley scream-singing at the start of the album. No Woman No Cry was okay, I prefer the live version but again, it is a nice intro to Marley's sound. The thing about reggae music is that it all kinda sounds the same to me. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the musicianship and love that went into this album. While listening, I couldn't help but think about how proud and loved Marley was by brothers and sisters from Jamaicans. I've never been to Jamaica but I can definitely sense the essence of what it means to be a Jamaican.
It was classic americana. Funny, infectious, and jammy (like a soft boiled egg). I don’t understand the constant reference to rain but i like it. the first 1/3 or the album is alright but it becomes the ear worthy album that it is the rest of the way there. I’m astonished at how fun and timeless this album is!
I've listen to that before and I can tell you that it is a classic!
A somber reminder of the pain that David went through during his health scares. Blackstat,I believe is the acceptance of his fate but The Next Day is the struggle accepting his own mortality. Tones of reflection and death, you can't help but think of what a traumatic time Bowie was going through
A gothic adventure to the inner working of cohen's mind
a fun a cute record that gets the basics right!
Fun but only real memorable song is their classic, "we are family"!
Wow Wow Wow. You know when people talk about how "The Godfather" is
THE movie and has inspired all future movies. I think Here Come The Warm Jets has a lineage that has effected modern and contemporary music. I am astounded by the production, recording of the mics, the innovation of cutouts during a song. This album sound like it could have been produced in 2024 and it could fit in this era's style of music. My issues with this album is the slower pacing song have a weak lyrical component to it but when the instrumentals take over, they are center stage and killing it!!!
Interesting mix of genre. I get a big Beck vibe off of it. I liked it but wished for more.
fun and easy to listen to! love no more mr nice guy.
Wow! why haven't I listened to this album before!! I am floored by the different influences he pulled from the Beatles, Nick Drake, etc.
I think this album is a window of time where radiohead pushed there limits and advanced the idea of what a rock band could sound like. I'm familiar with Pyramid Song but when taking it in with the rest of the album, you get the sense of how much work and thoughtfulness it took to nail this album.
Loved her soothing voice!
I prefer this album than Natty Dread. The production sound more fleshed out, precise, and cleaner.
fun! shows how talented Snoop is/was since the get-go.
NO MY JAM! It was so discombobulated!!! I
Beautiful, different, so in it's own world! I loved the different styles and genre scattered through out the album! Rufus really brought it!
Funky, Dancing, Charming!
Wow. All i could think about is how this would sound at Despacio tent
I didn't expect to hear songs in the style of Imagine. I always thought of JL's solo work to be Beatle-esq but I enjoyed the 50's inspired songs, along with the more somber sounding tracks
A fun album with songs that remind me of my childhood
I still don't get this album. It's like adults making music with kids toys.
Nice Album! I still not the biggest sza fan but I appreciate her Ctrl album
nice listen. Romantic and sultry sound. Gives me the feeling of looking at past relationships with rose-tinted glasses.
Fun, Funky, silky. Love radiates on here
Difficult to listen to but I respect the boundaries they pushed
Some great songs but found this hard to listen to. Language barriers are kind of hard for me to get into.
