I listened to the album twice.

Big fan already.

Extra star for the sax solo. Not something I’d listen to on repeat, or often. Throw a couple songs in a mixed playlist; I’m good, no skipping. 🤣

What a musical journey. I heard 1 song from this album before, and missed out on so much until now!!

Just not for my listening ears.

Not a fan, but good album.

That was a tough 44 minutes to get through.

Horrible.

Too repetitive, pretty mindless lyrics. Musically, maybe it was a new sound in 81?

Nope. It may be influential, but not in a good way.

A band I pretty much forgot about. Was happy to rediscover the album.

I am missing the appeal …

Felt very familiar, reminiscent of the Beatles. I have to admit I was distracted by the weird stereo sound with earbuds in. Much better via a speaker. I will definitely listen again.

*yawn* I fail to see what is original, or outstanding. Forgettable.

Beautiful vocals. Not something I’d choose to listen to, thinking “I’m familiar with The Carpenters, and her tragic death”. I never really listened. What surprised me … the studio musicians. The sax, and the jazzy flute. Not a fan of the cover of Help. This album absolutely is one that brings back the nostalgia and feel for an era.

Familiar sound for 80s music lovers. I actually added a couple songs to my library.

Noise. It shouldn’t be this hard to get through an album. Not my thing.

Had to skip along thru this. I think percussionists could appreciate it better than me. Stomp the yard goes techno with Screeching screaming vocals.

The familiar music of my early childhood. Listening to the oldies station in my parents’ station wagon. I am more likely to put a few tracks in an oldies playlist, than listen to the entire album. However, would my oldies playlist be complete without a few of the songs on this album? Nope. Where would the Beatles start, if not for Buddy Holly? So it’s a 5 for me.
