Beautiful vocals. Not something I’d choose to listen to, thinking “I’m familiar with The Carpenters, and her tragic death”. I never really listened. What surprised me … the studio musicians. The sax, and the jazzy flute. Not a fan of the cover of Help. This album absolutely is one that brings back the nostalgia and feel for an era.

The familiar music of my early childhood. Listening to the oldies station in my parents’ station wagon. I am more likely to put a few tracks in an oldies playlist, than listen to the entire album. However, would my oldies playlist be complete without a few of the songs on this album? Nope. Where would the Beatles start, if not for Buddy Holly? So it’s a 5 for me.
