Step In The Arena
Gang StarrIncredible rap album, some really great samples from some great oldies. Love love love. Foresee this moving to my somewhat regular rotation

Better than I expected! Was not expecting there to be so many recognizable songs. The intro is very Thom Yorke-inspired (to me) which I think is pretty neat. The outro and intro have similar vibes that I think give a nice symmetry to the album.
I can tell this album pioneered a lot of things that were emulated after the fact. Reminds me of bands like The Vaccines, The Drums, maybe a little Temper Trap. Very chill album with a very nice outro song, gives Adventure Time
Not the sound I would expect from what I have heard from Funkadelic, a lot more electric guitar riffs then I have come to expect. Very fun and chill album, good for cooking in the kitchen or grilling outside.
Bangers. Great jamming tracks. Great for a road trip!
Very cool and raw album. Worth revisiting for sure. Some very deep songs peppered with some very funny songs.
Really solid album, surprised how few songs I recognized. Seemed to be a recurring motif throughout the album which I always appreciate. Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle gave me a good laugh because at 2:25 it sounds a lot like the end part of Kickapoo from Tenacious D
Love love love. A new classic favorite. Early in the morning instrumentals are incredible
Homeschooled Zach de la Rocha. I didn’t know hype music could make you feel tired
Amazing album all the way through. One of the best live performances I’ve ever heard
It was okay, nothing very memorable. Not much to say about this one.
Not quite my cup of tea personally but a really good example of what good country music can be that doesn’t follow the typical modern day formula of the likes of Kieth Urban etc
Hell yeah brother. Real good sounds on this one. Mango Pickle Down River is a revelation
Fun and good rock
An American classic
❤️Queen
Groovy. The Erik Satie cover is cool
I liked the message, the music was ehh for me
Amazing! What an incredibly talented singer. Rest in peace
So good. Groovin and movin baby
Loved it!
Raps were kinda meh but the beats were pretty good
Wacky and fun album
Felt like I was late for my bus in a DCOM montage
Nice
So many good instrumentals. Great 90’s hip hop
Pretty good! Nothing super standout-ish
Sounds kinda like if Mick Jagger blew up in the 2010s
Queen is Queen. Great as always. No real stand-outs in this album for me but great to put on in the summe.
Bangers on bangers. Brass Monkey is fun. Girls is also funny
It was fine! Maybe one to re-visit down the road
Pretty good. Didn’t connect in particular with anything on the album but I think a younger me would have loved this.
This was a fun one, felt kinda surf rocky
Love love love. Can’t believe it took this long for me to listen to this album. Perfect in every way
Didn’t listen to this very closely, just had it on in the background while making dinner. Enjoyed what I heard!
Very unique. The first album I’m sure I never would have listened to without this list!
Kinda mid. Felt like a Pink Floyd knockoff
Loved it!
Pop icon. Great album, instrumentation and production was insanely good.
Wowie wow wow
Fun and surf rocky, solid album all the way through. Would be good for…idk putting on in the background while playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3?
Hell yeah this some real west coast gangster raps
So cool to see how many rap albums were clearly influenced by this one
Honestly? The whole album kind of ran together. Nothing stood out to me at all. Very much all sounded the same. I could see myself liking this maybe back in 2019-2020. Maybe worth revisiting but I doubt I’ll change my opinion
Wow. Incredible from front to back. Damn near a religious experience. This captures so many different sounds and sounds truly timeless. I feel touched by this album
Fire
Very solid
Beastie Boys
10/10 album. Feels like I’m listening to a western (praising)
No standouts but a great summertime album
Hell yea rock on brother
Production value was good, not really my kinda music though
Incredible rap album, some really great samples from some great oldies. Love love love. Foresee this moving to my somewhat regular rotation
Some great tracks on this one, The Kinks are awesome! Lazy Old Sun is a standout
Radiohead Thom Yorke mmmm
Flava Flav
Very good chill summer album

Too much Dennis Wilson. Sorry Dennis
Pretty cool and fun album, very Bri’ish
It was fine. I listened to it twice through without realizing it had started over 🤪🤪
Money for nothing is a banger
