Selling England By The Pound
GenesisI got high and now I can’t remember anything about this so I guess it was mid

Fun 80’s old school hip hop
First day, first album. Good genre bending album with some great tunes and aggressive vocals. I liked it and I’m glad to finally give more recognition to Beastie boys!
Simons voice is so sweet mixed in this sugary sound
Yep her name sounds exactly like the music, dusty springfield
Knowing only ”I wanna be adored” which is a song that I really adooore, I had my hopes high. Unfortunately the rest of the album was bit of a led down, it did absolutely nothing to me. That said, I can still appreciate it though.
There were no stand out songs nor were there any terrible ones either. Just a OK. 2.5/5
Refreshing, great stuff
Cure for my hangover
Fun, fresh, funky. Definitely has one of the catchiest songs ever, yes you, Ms. Jackson.
Positive thing is that from this project I was really hoping to discover new music and I've never heard of Beth Orton so this was a really nice discovery (especially cause I listen to a lot of female singers of the 90's). I liked a few songs a lot (”sweet decline” and ”couldn't cause me harm”), although some songs were kinda forgettable. But still this was sweet.
I would recommend everyone to take a deeper look into this project, if you're not already familiar with it. Beautiful piece of art.
”To say what you feel is to dig your own grave” Raw, powerful and beautiful. Still, one of my favorites of all time. Rip Sinéad.
Meh.. didn’t connect with this
I adore this album, absolutely gorgeous
I mean, how can you not think this is what she didn't serve here???
I've got into more punk just recently but I feel like this is just one of those punk bands that aren't my cuppa… and some of the lyrics (new york) ugh… not fresh
This goes fucking HARD
Tiny dancer slaps ofc but the rest I wasn't too familiar to begin with so I think I need to listen to this again. Overall I dig what I was hearing.
I had a good time
It doesn't get any better than this. This is a fucking banger of an album, a masterpiece.
It's been a while since I listened to 50's music, so this was a nice little trip down memory lane. Surely has that one of a kind atmosphere in the music at that time.
Interesting concept, but I was really not feeling it as much as I would have wanted to
Not really my sting but I'm in a good mood today so I'm gonna give it 2.5/5 and round it to 2
Pretty top-notch Bowie
I really know nothing about Iggy Pop nor the Stooges, but I always thought they sounded cool, I'm gonna keep it that way
This kind of music I guess isn't just my thing, I did like the first song (\"Santa Cruz\") but then I lost interest. On a positive note, completely new discovery for me
Cute and jazzy. I liked that it is live, really takes you back to that moment
Just not my thing at all and I don’t think I will never willingly listen to this ever again. 1.5/5
I know giving this only 2 stars isn't much, but this was surprisingly a little bit more enjoyable that I would have though. I mean the album cover looks terrible and not a big fan of this specific 80's hard rock sound but yeah, not that bad!
Okay okay okay so I'm a bit conflicted. I always told myself that I never really liked coldplay and maybe some of that has to do with the image that has been painted for me: them just being really bland, bland and boring overrated band. And sure, some of their stuff is really just that and even many of their highly appreciated hits have never really resonated with me and some just sound god-awful. So I've just come to the conclusion that yeah don't care for them as much to really never give them a try, but now I can finally say that I've given them a fair try and at least listened to one of their albums. And after listening to this, I'm kinda surprised. It's not that bad! Not really my thing though, but not as terrible as I would have thought. So me rating this album still fairly low is still a positive thing because I really thought I was going to hate the shit ouf ot this. 2.5/5
Not bad, but mediocre 2.5/5
Nothing bad to say, liked the atmosphere
New enjoyable discovery!
Hands down one of the best hip hop albums I’ve ever heard
Björk's my favorite artist, so I was obviously very excited to get this album today. Her music touches me like no other and this especially has got me through some shit. One of my all time favorites.
This is one of those folky albums which my mom used to play all the time when I was a kid. It brings me so many memories and holds a very sweet sweet spot in my life.
Omg what an awful shit am I forced to listen to, this is torture
Never heard of them before, nice new discovery
Oof these reviews are harsh. Far from Loveless but still found it to be very enjoyable. Nice noise 🤌🏼
Obviously 5 stars
Classic! Never really gave any recognition to Cyndi but after this I can appreciate that this is a pretty decent album. The album cover suits the music so well
Very nice, very very nice
One of the very first records I've owned as a child. Haven’t really listend to them since, so nice little trip down memory lane
Pretty awesome
Feels like a soft blanket
C’mon this is good!
I like his voice particularly. The album over all wasn't matching my mood today, maybe some other day it would have been higher, because I understand the appeal
Just not my thing
Lot of the music that I listen to is around this time period but why oh why haven't I given enough recognition to Lou. Well it was about time
I got high and now I can’t remember anything about this so I guess it was mid
Another R.E.M. album within a week. I do prefer this more than Document, although I find this pretty boring 2.5/5
Funny coincidence, I just started looking deeper into Fugazis discography and started with this one, really good stuff
Never again
Surely bit of a mixed bag, some songs were pretty good and some pretty bad, maybe it will grow on me
What can I say, it’s a masterpiece
No I am not feeling this at all
Perfect for this spring sunday morning
One of those albums I've meant to listen to for so long. So now after listening, I thought I would have like it more to be honest, but it's pretty solid
Ah well wasn’t this breeze of fresh air after having a bit of a tough time going trough this challenge. By far the most positively surprising discovery. Ofc I've known about George Michael before and listened to a lot of Wham back in the days. I don't know why but I just never was invested to look what else was there on his solo discography. I got ”Faith” a couple weeks back and was then pleasantly surprised by it. I really liked it and now this album just blew me away. George has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, I never made the comparison but his voice reminds me a lot of Freddies. Beautiful piece of work and the album cover is brilliant. I’m happy to discover this.
”Yo, kick some more of that by Ice, T”
Nice one
ok ok ok I can jam to this, a tiny bit
Mmmmmmh yes
Something about this album in all its simplicity that I absolutely adore. The album cover suits the music so well.
Sounds very fresh by also sounding very 80’s
Tina! Great voice, production not the so much Fav song: let’s stay together
This got some groove! I love this kind of 90’s hip hop, right up my alley
Love me some Neil
It’s jamming, it’s grooving, it’s funking
Wow very nice discovery! Need to listen again
Great discovery once again!
There is not a single skippable song on this banger, okay??
I’m surprised, this was sweet!
Fun 80’s old school hip hop
I've come to notice that when it comes to jazz I'm really clueless, all I can say is that it sounds jazzy
I enjoyed it :)
By far the most bizarre one I've got
Metal music is the genre I feel like most unfamiliar with, I know really nothing about it, but trought this challenge I'm really trying to give it a fair try, at least I'm hoping that I'm finding the the cream of the crop. I'm still not sure what I think about this though… but sure there’s more to metal than just this, I guess this one just isn't my thing. Oh but the fact that this one’s from Brazil is pretty cool
Not the biggest fan of hard rock but this was good
Interesting
Morrissey bad 👎 this album good 👍
SLAPS from every direction
Soothing, sweet, sad, sexy
This made me feel like getting trampled in a mosh pit
Enjoyable
Bit sad that I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked to, but it's okay
Classic!
Kinda bland, didn't really connect with this one (except that "All I wanna do" is really a banger that I had totally forgotten)
I appreciate it's something different, but I just didn't really connect
Lots of childhood memories
Oh well I'm surprised. This is good!
I guess this was a ok 2.5/5
Had a blast
Wasn’t really feeling it. I get the appeal maybe I give it a try some other time
This is what I signed up for
I once was in my industrial era
Some songs were pretty good and I enjoyed them quite a bit but this is just too long
Well, it’s pretty amazing
Classic, love it
Delightful
I know Prefab Sprout from their 2003 album "I trawl the megahertz" which is one of my favorite albums of all time. I just didn't look into more of their discography because I wasn't expecting anything similar. So now finally got a chance to listen to this, I do think they have unique sound, eventhough this wasn't my favorite, still quite enjoyable
100th album woop woop. Wasn’t my jam, but this was first Iron Maiden album I’ve ever heard
In all its simplicity, I find this very pleasing
Nice one
What way to start a week!
Ah psychedelic soul at its finest
Nice one
Love it
Banger
Such a beautiful piece of art
Nostalgic. Amazing production. Would rate it higher if it wasn’t for Kanye
Wow, well it was about time to give some recognition to Frank Ocean
Another very pleasant surprise
Good old classic rock
It’s okay
First Smashig Pumpkins album I’ve ever heard
Amazing
Love me some Neil Young
New discovery
Great blues
One of the best and my personal favorite psychedelic rock albums
Holy fuck what a pleasant surprise!
River man is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard
Not a big fan of grunge, but I appreciate the appeal
Classic
Surprisingly good
Nice one
This is lovely. I should listen to more blues.
American pie SLAPS
Ah exactly what I needed now
Good album. Surprised how much I liked it.
Best shit ever
