A bit of a mess but has some classics.
I will always remember Me and Julio.. during The Royal Tannibaums
No skip album. One of the greatest albums of all time.
I appreciate the quality of music here but I have no emotional attachment to this album.
That was alright! A cross between Spiritualized and late era Wilco.
This album deserves another listen.
Very unique. Nothing else like this in the 70’s
New York Poetry
Recorded in London
3:30am on a Tuesday staring at a street lamp.
I’m dedicated to this project but not dedicated enough to listen to 50+ tracks that this album has. I listened to a shorter version and I had zero interest in it
Big fat guitar riffs.
Makes me want to join a band.
I don’t think it is a terrible album. It’s fine I guess. I just see me ever listening to it again
I think it is funny to hear English dudes rap.
It takes a lot of talent to create something like this. It’s art that I can’t fully comprehend but understand the greatness
I did not like this.
On the rare occasion, a cover is better than the original. This is one of those cases. Johnny Cash’s Hurt is better then Trent’s
Spooky
Adventurous
Lost in Space
Blood changes direction
Has not aged well.
Not to be taken seriously
Silly fun
It’s a continuation of Odalay and Midnight Vultures but less party and more serious.
Can’t say if that is a good thing or bad thing.
Pet Sounds is one of the greatest albums of all time. Beautiful and deep. Brian Wilson has been trying to replicate that magic even since….unsuccessfully.
I never listened to the Pumpkins when I was a teenager. I missed out on this album. I really like it!
I’m not sure if we are suppose to worship CCR. This was a good album though
First time hearing this album and I was a teenager in the 90’s. I think I need another listen. I think it would have been a four star album if it only had two sides
I just don’t like this type of music. At least this was better then the previous album of 90’s Gap background music.
I’m not really a fan of this kind of music but geez, Frank’s voice! That commands attention.
A couple of big hits but nothing that really grabs me
There were no pictures of the band on the band. They were a mystery. They played hard. It was very influential for a teen in the 90’s. Every single one of us has sung along to, “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me”
Too bad most of us didn’t take that to heart.
Ska is great when done right. When it’s not, it’s just annoying. This is done right.
REM is an underrated band I think.
A thousand years from now, this will one of the albums in their ancient history space museum. Small tentacled school children will stare at the album cover before having lunch of protein slurry.
I think people get distracted by Ozxy’s shenanigans sometimes that this is an amazing album. So heavy for 1969.
This has to be in the top 20 albums of all time.
I wonder who listens this. What are their lives like? What do they for a living? What do they do on Sunday afternoons? I think know that would be more interesting then this music
Usually 80s music sounded terrible. The production was awful drum sounded like they were being recorded in an airplane hanger just terrible and the bands and the musicians from the 60s and 70s did not know how to use it proper. Everyone sounded awkward and ugly. But there are some band like the cure who is able to use that 80 sound like a sharp knife. This is the height of 80s music done very very well.
Pretty much every Beatles album is going to get 6 stars…expect for Yellow Submarine.
The Stooges? No? Alright. It just didn’t connect with me.
The guest stars on this album are insane Maybelline Carter, Earl Scruggs however the album is very long
Solid album that I never heard before. Demands another listen.
This is what geniuses do.
The 90’s were not kind to a lot of hair metal bands. It could have been worse for Metallica.
I do not like this type of music. At least it was slightly more enjoyable then Captain Beefheart’s Trout Mask Replica.
This was a very hard two to give sometimes music can make me almost come to tears, and sometimes gives me nothing at all zero emotional reaction. This is one of those albums. I don’t know why some albums or some music will get me emotional and some do not very strange. This album did not however, I do respect the quality of the album the musician ship it’s top notch, but I did not enjoy it.
“I believe in the Promise Land”
I think these words are the antithesis of what Bruce Springsteen is all about. Some people, when they think of him, think of “Born in USA”
And think it’s some sort of “USA” rah rah song. And it is but not the way they think think it is. This album is filled with what America really is. The good and the bad. What it is right now is and what it is capable of. Beautiful and sad.
Some say this is their best album. I’m not sure about that. Maybe. I see myself giving all their albums after Revolver 5 stars… except Yellow Submarine.
They tore of the shackles of being a “boy band” and started thinking for themselves.
It’s 2026!and rock n roll is dead. This album might have been one of its last hurrahs.
Listening to the first song I thought this was a German Weird Al. I wish you could give half stars. Terrible.
The is a fun album. Not something I would listen to but he is definitely talented.
I like depressing music but not this depressing music. Maybe if I started listening to his in my 20’s it would be a different story.
Is this the first time hearing this album. Definitely a 3, probably a 4. It’s hard to give an album you listened to once a 4.
I think Elvis is a little overrated. I get it, he made a the girls go nuts and made parents
nervous. But Little Richard and Chuck Berry did it better.
Terrible early 90’s production. Her voice and conviction is sincere but it sounds dated. This gets a 3 because of Nothing Compares 2 U
This album is scientifically perfect. All pieces are in the right place. Aretha’s voice comes from another place, deep within everyone’s soul. So deep, most don’t know it’s there, but Aretha does.
Sometimes I think God sends down profits very rarely, but I think occasionally he sends somebody down to try us try and show us the light try and guide us down the path. Johnny Cash is one and I believe Bob Marley is another.
It’s a fun album. A party album. I’m not a huge fan of Swing but this gets you going.
I’m not familiar with Lam Toro but it sounds like he knows what he is doing.
90’s hip hop. A category all of its own. I hope there’s more hip hop on the list.
This music will last for a thousand years.
Because it was made from the Soul.
It came from the depths of the Earth.
From hardship.
From somewhere that most people can’t understand.
It’s real life magic.
I don’t like this type of music I’m not a fan. But there’s no doubt there’s some huge hits on this album and they know how to write music. It’s very well done very well produced. I’m just not a fan of this type of music.
David Bowie is a branch of rock n roll that I just haven’t gone down. I’m still not sure if I want to go down it.
Neil does what wants. Most Musicians, actors, politicians, YouTubers, tiktokers, serial killers will desperately hold on to fame for as long as possible. They’ll do anything to keep it. They’ll sell their souls. People like Neil Young don’t give a shit about that. That’s when you get great art.
Yes, this album has Bohemian Rhapsody but the rest of the album is a mess. I have a feeling that a lot of their album are all over the place.
Production wise, this album sounds extremely outdated. But I can see why some might call him a poet.
It’s so sad that he had to die for such silly nonsense like an East/West feud. Imagine all the music he ( and Biggie ) could have made. Sad.
I can hear the influence in their music. A whole album of this kind of music might get tiresome though
80’s music has the ability to be so boring.
I wonder if anyone ever does Sunday brunch making brunch for the friends to come over on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and they put on the Apex twin to enjoy with their brunch I don’t think so who listens to this music? Is it still relevant? Does it make any sense? I don’t think anyone’s gonna be listening to this 100 years. It’s kind of boring. It served its purpose.
Do you know what is worth than Jazz? White guy jazz.
This was a fun album. It was nice to get something different like this in the 90’s
I didn’t know The Temptations got this funky! Great album!
