Faves: Heads will roll, dull life, runaway. Would I revisit this: no.
Fave track: Mercy mercy me. Would I revisit this: no.
Not my thing, but an interesting work. Faves: The world is a ghetto, beetles in the bog. Would I revisit this: no.
Well I've been meaning to get into this for a while now. Faves: While my Guitar gently weeps, Happiness is a warm gun, martha my dear, rocky raccoon, I will, Savoy truffle, Bungalow Bill.
Actual score: 3.5 stars. Would I revisit: way too many songs, but yes.
Yeah, not a rap fan at all. I can recognize and acknowledge why it's good though. Would I revisit this: nah.
Wow, wasnt expecting to be able to appreciate this, mostly because I'm completely unaware of these types of genres and sounds, and have literally zero previous exposure to this music and culture. Faves: No woman no cry, Them belly full, So Jah Seh. Would I revisit this: probably nah, cuz it's still not my thing, but would listen to these specific tracks again.
Great live voice. Overall though, not really my thing. The San Quentin and Boy named Sue songs were very entertaining. Would I revisit: no
Beautiful lyrics, as is customary for Leonard Cohen. That being said, it's pretty boring. Would I revisit: no
Honestly it's not bad. Peaceful background music while I dusted my bedsheets. Would I revisit this though: nah.
To be honest this isn't really a gripe with this specific band or album, but with this list in general. I don't mind a 1001 albums list being mostly anglocentric. Thing is, if you're gonna make it anglocentric, you might as well pick the best of the bests. It's pretty sad how so much good music from all over the world is probably being overlooked in favour of some mediocre record like this. This album could have easily been swapped with something from the Japanese music scene.
Awesome guitars, fun and catchy songs. Not really a fan of the dude's vocals though. Actual score: 3.5 stars. Would I revisit: yes.
Yeah led zep isn't my thing at all. Would I revisit: nah.
My first time listening to the folk punk genre. Quite interesting. But not my thing at all. The breakdown at the end of Add It Up was great though. Would I revisit: maybe.
Very catchy. Rap isn't my thing overall, but I thoroughly enjoyed some of the tracks. Fave tracks: Forgotten, Pushing me away.
Would I revisit: definitely.
Huh, this was quite fun. Fave tracks: Hail Bop, Waveforms, Love's Dart. Would I revisit: yes probably.
Good band, but did they need to be on this list twice?
Tracks I enjoyed: Rich, Black Tongue.
Would I revisit this: no
Dear Robert Dimery or whoever wrote this book, please stop wasting my time. This definitely isn't a bad album. But, (I've said this on another review and I'll say it again), if you're gonna make a list like this so USA+UK focused, you might as well pick the best of the best, not mediocre third tier artists like this. So much of amazing music from all around the world is being overlooked in favour of...this.
Would I revisit: no.
Funny coincidence, was listening to this only yesterday. I think I'm beginning to get into the whole post punk/goth sound. Would I have enjoyed it as much as I did if it weren't for the dark goth imagery surrounding this music? Hmm...debatable. Whatever it is, I enjoyed this more on the second (or third?) listen. Actual rating: 3.5 stars. Would I revisit this: yes.
Not a led zep fan. At all. Do respect their influence though.
This list is making me realize that it's impossible to be completely unbiased about music. Whether I find an album good or bad depends not only on the music but also on my personal circumstances and state of mind I guess.
Before listening to this, I binged through a shit ton of music that I already love, which sound completely different from this one. Maybe that's why this fell flat in comparison. Most of the time I was just tuning out.
The flute was really cool though, that much I could tell. Would I revisit this album in future: sure, yes. I think I have to, lol.
Favourite track: Locomotive Breath
First few songs were fun, then it got boring. They should have put Humbug or AM here instead, those are way better albums.
This probably sounds petty af but I rolled my eyes so hard when I read about the lyrical themes of this album on wikipedia. Seriously? All that yapping just to tell me about the lives of young clubbers and shit?🙄 Bruh, I don't care. It reminds me of how Fall Out Boy songs keep yapping endlessly about some horny loser dude who got used by a girl or something.
Fave track: I bet you look good on the dancefloor. Would I revisit this: no.
Idk if this is because I'm just not a rap fan in general, but this bored me. Around the Way Girl was weirdly wholesome though. Would I revisit this: no.
Not something I'd revisit but it was nice listening to traditional African music
Tracks I liked: I wanna be adored, she bangs the drums, song for my sugar spun sister, made of stone, first part of I am the resurrection. Loved the Scarborough fair inspired interlude in the middle.
The somewhat dream poppy vibe was cool. Would I revisit this: maybe. Sure.
When none of the songs last long enough for me to even form an opinion, what do you expect me to say?
Then again, this wasn't really my thing, so maybe the short length was a blessing?
Tracks I kind of liked: behind the door, world up my ass
Would I revisit this: no
Tracks I liked: freedom rider, john barleycorn.
Would I revisit this: maybe.
He's talented. But I don't like rap 🤷🏻♀️
Some of the lyrics are pretty funny though.
Also random fact but I'm pretty sure some FNAF song ripped off My name is lol.
Track I liked: 97 bonnie and Clyde.
Would I revisit this: no.
Man, idk if it's because I was in a bad mood when I heard this, or if it's truly boring, but nothing about this really grabbed me. I sort of just tuned out.
Would I revisit this: no
The beginning was fine. What the hell happened after that?!
Track I kinda liked: Ladybird, I'm going to Spain. Would I revisit this: no.
Nice background music. I respect whatever influence they have but it's not something I'd seek out normally. Tracks I liked: good to my baby, she knows me too well. Would I revisit: no.
Well, it's Green Day. What can I say. I'm not a huge fan or anything but I do like some stuff from them, and it's a band I admire quite a bit. This album grows on me the more I listen to it. Fave tracks: American idiot, jesus of suburbia, holiday, boulevard of broken dreams, whatsername. Would I revisit this: yes.
Boring. 🤷🏻♀️ Sorry. Would I revisit this: nah.
You know what, I'll just simply call the boring ones boring, instead of bothering to write whole reviews for them. Would I revisit this: no.
Huh, usually I hate rap but didn't hate this as much as I was expecting to. This was fun to skim through, though admittedly I didn't finish this. Would I revisit though: nah.
Song I liked: blue skies.
I'm debating whether to give these "most of these songs are boring except for one which is mildly good" albums a 2 star rating or a 3 star rating.
Way too many moans. Mildly interesting music, but nothing that really sticks. Song I liked: kick your game. Would I revisit this: no.
Fave track: sunflower. Would I revisit this: no.
Fave track: rattlesnakes, Charlotte Street. Would I revisit this: no.
Hmm, I'm very quickly becoming a Depeche Mode fan. One of those vibey bands who I can listen to for the vibe and mood of the music, rather than a specific melody or tune that I like. Would I revisit this: hell yeah
Kinda boring. I guess american folk isn't my thing. Would I revisit this: nah.
Man, this list is wasting my time.
Eh. Not a rap fan.
Guess I'm not artsy enough to truly "get" this shit. Knew some whack bs was about to go down when I heard the bugs bunny voice in the beginning. Tbh, this could work as the soundtrack of some absurdist movie. But as "music", just no, thank you.
No, you don't need to listen to this before you die.
Sounds like the shit my dad used to play when I was a kid that made me believe english/western music is stupid and boring. Initially gave this a two stars rating, then changed it to three because...well...I did like a few songs. Fave tracks: why does love got to be so sad, little wing, layla. Other than these, boring.
Wow, I rather enjoyed this, and I'm really glad I did. Would I revisit this: yes, definitely.
Enjoyable listen, but not something I'd revisit.
Idk why this is rated low lol. It's way better than a lot of the samey sounding shitty ass rock on this list. Not something I'd revisit, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Though the first half was better than the second. Tracks I liked: next, girls from the streets.
Yeah this was okay. Liked more songs than I was expecting to. Fave tracks: E-Pro, earthquake weather, broken drum. Would I revisit this: except for the specific tracks I liked, nope.
Oh great, I get to hear this album again :)
Fave tracks: Drive my car, think for yourself, Michelle, girl, wait. Would I revisit this: yes
While this definitely isn't as terrible horrible no good very bad as everyone's saying it is, it's still not something I'd ever revisit.
Tracks I liked: zion, forgive them father. Would I revisit this: no.
The mixing is kinda bad, and the first part of this album is better than the latter half, but I still enjoyed it. Would revisit.
Track I liked: beat it.
Other than that, this is sadly the type of music I don't care about at all.
The best thing I got out of this album is that it reminded me of the k-pop song Thriller by BTOB, and I got to listen to that after a long time, so that's nice.
Tracks I liked: fucking hostile, hollow.
Man, I'm sad I didn't enjoy this more. Just tuned out in between lol. Maybe thrash metal just isn't my thing? Awesome guitars though.
Always happy to see a band I'm familiar with, even if I'm not the biggest fan :)
Anyway, I had no idea queen could be this interesting, beyond BoRhap, WWRY and that one song about Roger being hot for his car. Was not expecting to like this as much as I did. Here's an album I'd definitely wish to revisit. Favourite tracks: Killer queen, flick of the wrist, now I'm here
?????!!!!
FUCK YEAH, this was awesome!!!
Don't know what I was expecting but definitely wasn't expecting this to be an album where I would end up liking all the tracks. Easiest and immediate four stars I've given. EDIT: Moved it to five stars now :)
Man...would it be blasphemous to say I find the beach boys boring. When it comes to the sixties I prefer the Beatles. I havent listened to much else from the sixties though.
Whatever it is, I've listened to two beach boys albums by now, and none of them really hit. 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah this had some good songs ig. Though I agree with the reviewer who said that this is basically the same song repeated 20 times lmao.
Also saw another comment say that this isn't their best album, so guess I gotta check out their earlier stuff now. Hopefully I'll like them better.
Songs I liked: Back from somewhere, ice cold ice, could you be the one, too much spice, she floated away
Fleetwood whack.
Songs that shaved this shit from being 1 star: Go your own way, the chain
Mann idk, wish I could have liked it better lmao. Would I revisit: possibly not.
Songs I kinda liked: bodies, liar, god save the queen.
Thank god, finally a change of scene from all the annoying samey-sounding overrated as shit boring rock music on here.
That "i like to live in America" caught me off guard XD.
Song I liked: maria lionza
Huh, this was pretty cool. Not something I'd revisit, but this was my first exposure to 'Krautrock' and it was interesting.
Man, I'm supposed to LIKE arena rock. But I zoned out during this :/
Tracks I liked: peace of mind (only the guitars), something about you (again, only the guitars and beginning.)
Man, the beginning was good but after that I zoned out. Also it's way too long. Nevertheless, it was entertaining for a while ig. Fave tracks: rise and fall, mr speaker.
Would I revisit this: nah
Moderate Offense
Track I kinda liked: Three.
Would I revisit: no.
🙄
I can definitely understand why this album's on the list. I see this album and it's songs everywhere, I guess it's the quintessential industrial metal album. I may not totally "get" it on the first listen, but this was interesting enough to make me think, this may just be one of those things I might be "converted" in favor of in future. No guarantees though.
Tracks I enjoyed: Mr self destruct, piggy, ruiner, a warm place, that one song the name of which I forgot in which he was like your god is dead or something like that
Kinda interesting, but also kinda boring....idk man. I zoned out. Listening wind reminded me of Gorillaz which is nice ig. Overall, forgettable
Nice. Easy four stars, though the first half was better than the latter half. Nevertheless this was fun. Would revisit.
First song was alright after that it was all forgettable
Please no more talking heads 🙏🏻
Entertaining, though not something I'd revisit.
Eh, I zoned out
Yeah sorry I don't get the hype
Man, I wish I'd liked this more. Alas
Entertaining. Track I liked: Daniibe
Would I revisit: no
Tracks I liked: mambo sun, cosmic dancer, monolith. Would I revisit: nope, other than these specific tracks.
Huh, this wasn't horrible. Track I liked: perfect day. Make up reminded me of tv girl. Would I revisit this: nah.
I have come to realize, I do not care for majority of older western music. Idk why stuff like this is considered the pinnacle of any and all music, when in reality this stuff is boring as shit. Why do westerners constantly hype up boring shitty ass music like it's the best thing ever?
This would have two stars, but I was angry enough to change it to one.
I was NOT expecting this to be worth four stars. Damn! This was pretty good, and my first introduction to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Can't wait to explore this band more.
Fave tracks: Henry lee, lovely creature, where the wild roses grow, kindness of strangers.
Would I revisit: yeah
Maybe it's not as terrible horrible no good very bad as the other aerosmith album I received earlier (pump), but still not my favourite.
Tracks I liked: Gorgeous, Monster, blame game
Not into rap. Also jeez man why are these rap albums so damn big holy shiet. The only good thing I got outta this is that it blocked the sound of my dad fighting with the annoying ass neighbours.
If the opening track wasn't so good this would be closer to a 1 star.
Tracks I liked: they won't go where I go.
Why...why is it just NOT ENDING oh my god....
Edit: done, finally. What would have been three stars probably got knocked down to two just because of the sheer length.
I'm tempted to abandon this list. There's SO much other music I'd rather be listening to than shit like this which gets hailed by idiot critics and internet music elitists as the best thing ever.
Alright alright, I'll admit this wasn't horrible. I'm surprised this album isn't as insufferable as their later works. Just normal alt rock. Would I revisit this? Maybe. No guarantees. Tracks I liked: The bends, my iron lung, bullet proof I wish i was, black star, street spirit fade out.
Bro what's the point of this
The only track I kinda liked was Black Wings because of the instrumental.
Amazing vocals, though this isn't something I'd revisit.
These heads need to shut the fuck up
Listen I know they're supposed to be revolutionary pioneers of metal and I respect that, but this just ISNT my thing. At all.
Based on the reviews I thought I'd absolutely hate this one, but eh, it's not even that horrible. Extremely forgettable though, and not something I'd ever feel inclined to revisit.
Oh my fucking god please stop recommending me led zeppelin. Absolutely no amount of gaslighting and condescension from music fans will convince me that they sound good. Fuck off and never play through my speakers again.
