Here's Little Richard
Little RichardGreat album, awesome singing and lovely Sax and horn work.
Great album, awesome singing and lovely Sax and horn work.
Singing in tune might help the cause.
Interesting Album.
Overrated. Some boring stuff on this album. Saved by a couple of good songs
Loved listening to this album. I knew the song Criminal.
A little bit dated in 2025. And the songs are all haphazard.
Couple of good songs. Pretty bland and very dated otherwise.
Overrated
Great mix of songs. Very impressed.
Love this album one of his best.
Some good songs and you can see where they were headed.
Not My Cup of Tea, pretty bland music.
Some great songs, just falls short of a perfect album
Some great poetry put into songs on this album by the wordsmith.
Each song very good, but as an album there is no light and shade. Every song sounds similar and as an album becomes tiresome to listen too.
A couple of classic songs and some mediocre. Not enough to lift it to more than two stars.
Love the texture and sound. No electric gizmos and pure talent on show. Some expert playing. Very smooth.
1990' and sounding like the Beatles, The Monkees, The Kinks, a couple of fair songs nothing outstanding for me on this album.
Didn't want to like this album. It was a little bit of a surprise that had its moments. Not much light and shade and its a repetitive sound. Some good hooks and interesting lyrics throughout.
Interesting Layers - Hooks and Lines. Not one of his better works.
Average songs that are over produced.
Some songs needed to be shorter. Some unmusical stuff and too much distortion. Some good songs in there.
Great album, awesome singing and lovely Sax and horn work.
Not heard this album before. Some good tracks on there. Worth a listen again.
Never a big Airplane fan. Some great songs on this let down by the production as it sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom....
Excellent album 4.5 stars.
Love the textures on this album.
Light and Shade. A classic.
Lacklustre. Shoegazing. Quite a boring listen.
Rubbish!!!
Exceptionally good album. Forgot how good it was. Except incorrect examples of Irony which I wanted to mark down, minor in the scheme of things. Love the edginess of the songs. Great guitar and harmonica.
Some good interspersed with some average or poor ones. Rather indulgent.
Love it. Great songs, dark subjects. Great debut album.
Some great songs and some just sound the same.
One of their best.
Interesting and great back story. Not much substance to the songs.
Singing in tune might help the cause.
Brilliant Album. Forgot how good it is.
Obviously an acquired taste.
Sublime. Great Harmonies and guitar work. Timeless.
Surprisingly good.
Very good production.
Obviously an acquired taste. Bland songs and grating vocals.
Sounds a little dated now. No real standout tracks.
Great variety on this album. Not listened to it for a long time.
The album meanders and lacks any vibe. Some individual songs are ok and as an album doesn't command attention.
Has its place. No stand out tracks and as an album hangs together well.
The back story is more interesting than the album itself.
Some good songs mostly average
No where near as good as Closer. Very much a garage band at this stage and better things to come.
Some interesting work here.
Sounds like a work out for a new James Bond movie. Has its moments and lacks credibility.
Boring. Pretentious.
Pretty boring. A great deal of repetition of songs. Same formula. Soft section with mumbling, followed by distorted 8 bars back to mumble and soft passages.
Masterpiece
It sounds like many ideas unfinished or polished, sounds the same throughout.
Some interesting work and a couple of great songs and instrumentals on this album.
Forgot how good this album is. Deceptively simple songs with great delivery.
Close to a 5. Two of my Fave R.E.M songs on this album.
One or two good songs. That's about it.
Better than I thought it would be. Some songs drag this down.
Disappointing. One or two good tracks.
A bit dated. And simple lyrics.
Not as good as some of thee other recordings.
Repetitious and lacking imagination.
Got my Mojo working......
A little dated. Best of Hits for other artists.
What's with all the screaming. Rather boring and indulgent.
A classic. Great lyrics and harmonies.
Enjoyable listen.
Some hits and some mediocre songs. The drums are annoying.
I don't know what the fuss is about. 1 for effort and 1 for writing here own stuff.
Never heard this before and surprised me. Some good songs.
Stand alone the songs are strong. As an album they are much of a muchness.
A couple of classics lift this album. Some mediocre songs drag it down. A legend.
Some interesting music on this album.
I found it boring and her voice annoying.
Unusual for Barry...some interesting ideas on this album from the Jazz Devil.
Consistent album, no real stand out tracks. Enjoyed all the same.
Awesome album. A classic.
Pleasant listening.
Pretentious and Boring.
Every song sounds euphoric and grandiose. Not light and shade. Hopeful at the end when Hoodoo appears but then they over do it again and ends euphoric. I want to like Muse and just can't get there. Great musical passages but too much the same and one song blurs into another.
Pub Rock at best. Nothing outstanding on this album.
Not a great deal of variety on this album. Great for historical value.
Very surprised by the quality of this album. Obviously knew the Shaft theme. Never had listened to the rest of the album before.
Better album than I thought was going to be. Something to be said for having a sound that is instantly recognizable as you. Unfortunately this becomes aurally tiring. Some good tracks on the album and politically charged.
Nothing changes. Still crap to this day.
Classic.
Some good tracks not enough to lift the whole album. Didn't care for Sabbath in the 70's and nothing has changed that much now.
Fortunately a short album. Unfortunately you can’t score Zero so I justified to give it one for some interesting song titles.
Surprisingly good album. Distinctive voice and sound. Some tracks stronger than others and enjoyable.
Van's voice and intonation grates after a while on this album. The songs are much of a muchness, and meander meaninglessly. I prefer some of his other albums this one. Save by some passages of good instrumental work by the musicians.
Throwback to the 70's stands up remarkably well considering its age. Rod's distinctive voice, some Celtic influences. An enjoyable listen.
Listened to the band before : Yes Songs I already knew: none Favourite Songs: Tighten Up, Howlin' For You Tighten Up sounds reminds me of Pumped up Kicks. The same hooks and riffs I have heard before on some of there other material. Howlin' For You sounds like T.Rex. The songs become repetitive at times. They have distinctive sound.
Listened to the band before : No Songs I already knew: none Favourite Songs: Plastic Bag, Warrior In Woolworths Punkish. Some good hooks, pulsating rhythms and decent melodies. The vocals are disconcerting at times although they suit the genre, style and the album as a whole. There is enough variety in this album to make it interesting. Simple songs and moves along.
Listened to the band before : No Songs I already knew: none Favourite Songs: Truckin' Some fusion of styles on this album, folky, bluegrass, country blues and a touch of Jazz. Lacks energy at times. The album didn't grab me as much as I anticipated. Pleasant without being outstanding.
