Popular Reviews

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers

Classic album.

Hypnotised by The Undertones

Fun album. Feels like been a teenager in the 80s Britain. This sound would be the landmark for the pop punk of the 90s. Great discovery. Fav. track: My perfect cousin.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band

Always only heard Apache which I love. Going through this is going through hip hop history. Samples everywhere. Amazing.

Scott 4 by Scott Walker

That voice, the lyrics.

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Dec 04 2025

Part of indie scene of early 2000s, Particular vocals of Thorpe, falsetto style. Occasionally eminds of Sparks in theatricality. Musically find this style dull but it has it's moments. Lirically nothing special. Highlight: underbelly. Not my cup of tea. It lacks an edge.

Dec 05 2025

American mythology. Dylan could have repeated this formula for the rest of his career but he did what he did. It's the musical image of an era. Don't think twice is on the top five of my favorite Dylan songs.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Dec 10 2025

Personal favorite record. They rock with acoustic instruments. Expanded what punk can be.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 11 2025

Not a fan of Springsteen, the only album I have on repeat is Nebraska. The sax on this album is amazing. Can't get used to the singing style of Springsteen. Respect the artist and this is an amazing project, but not my style.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Dec 12 2025

Album from which I discovered Zepp in my adolescense. Feels like a blueprint of everything that will come later. The bass from dazed and confused will forever live.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Dec 13 2025

Luscious album. Loaded with bangers. Haven't heard it an album. Depeche from the 90s.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Dec 16 2025

One of my most important albums of my 20s. Representations of feelings of angst, cynicism, depression, love from my 20s are in this album. Lyrically and musically magnificent.

Dec 17 2025

Beats are insane in this album. Lyrically is all you expect from from PE. Would de definitely be more praised and popular if not because of the past albums.

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Dec 18 2025

Fun album. Feels like been a teenager in the 80s Britain. This sound would be the landmark for the pop punk of the 90s. Great discovery. Fav. track: My perfect cousin.

Dec 19 2025

One of my favorite albums of the 90s in my teens. The perfect fuck you from Courtney to all the haters.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Dec 20 2025

One of the holiest albums ever. Made of Cash a legend. Being country the album is so punk and hardcore. One of my favorite albums to sing along.

Heavy Weather by Weather Report
Dec 21 2025

Heard it twice and just can't get into Weather Report. Feels like generic, bland, rated E Jazz. Appreciate the artistry but not my style. Highlight: the bass in track 3.

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
Dec 22 2025

What a pleasent surprise! Have a new favorite country album. All the covers are amazing.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Dec 23 2025

For some reason I have always gravitated more for Purple Rain and Dirty Mind but this album is loaded with bangers. Slow Love is a treat and the Dorothy Parker song is one of my favorites ever.

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
Dec 24 2025

This sounded everywhere in my 17s, respect the album as the cultural moment it was, but hopefully won't have to hear it again.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Dec 29 2025

Always find curious how the greats cab create this unique sound, classic album, only thing is that these songs have been heard everywhere so it feels like listening elevator music.

War by U2
Dec 30 2025

Great album but U2 has never really been my thing. Either way one of the strongest albums.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jan 01 2026

Feeling like in a film while listening to Walk on by.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Jan 02 2026

Enjoyed the album but didn't did much. Huge respect for Nile Rodgers and after more listens could get to appreciate it more.

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Jan 05 2026

Never really got into this band, but couple of songs here are part of my 20s and my wife loves this band. The album has this energy I love, should put it more.

Debut by Björk
Jan 06 2026
Phrenology by The Roots
Jan 07 2026

For some reason I could never get into the Roots as with De la or ATCQ. Maybe the rapping style or it's too pop for my taste. Either way it's a fine listen.

The Doors by The Doors
Jan 08 2026

Classic.

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Jan 09 2026

Never heard anything from Stills as solo so got into album with interest. It was ok, some good moments, but will probably never listen again.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jan 10 2026

Wasn't expecting much but what a great surprise this album was. Amazing voice and kudos to the production.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Jan 11 2026

Baker and Allen together, what a treat. Always for Fela and his hypnotic sound.

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Jan 12 2026

It was an enjoyable first time experience. There were some nice sounds and enjoyed the bass and beats in several songs. Either way there are other records I would put before this one like productions from Orbital or Future Sound of London or my preferred producers which are more experimenal like Aphex, BoC, The Orb or Autechre. Worth the time either way.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Jan 13 2026

It's a fine album but it didn't made much for me. The lyrics were mostly not special. Regarding Amy's voice it's ok but I would stick to her inspirations which are superior. Musically it had nice moments.

Synchronicity by The Police
Jan 14 2026

Fine surprise. I'm the kind who only ever heard Every breath you take. It surprised me how sonically adventurous this album is. As expected the production and sound is amazing and Sting's vocal range here, just amazing, going to listen to it again soon.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 15 2026

Classic album.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Jan 17 2026

Really enjoyed early Beatles era in my early life, thought it was fun. It hasn't really aged well. It's ok but give me Abbey Road any day.

LP1 by FKA twigs
Jan 18 2026

Around ten years ago this album blew my mind. After doing my daily check in Pitchfork, this alien looking, mesmerizing girl (yes I like them weird) came from nowhere and made this uniquely sounding album. Now I see how the production was made from some artists who would shine in the near future like ARCA or Sampha. Her voice, her stage productions, all amazing. I'll put a five just to compensate all the hate in the reviews, but I'll say it's more of a four given it lacks a bit cohesion. For the haters I'll quote something Bob Dylan published yesterday in his IG. "I came to believe that societies decay not because they lack talent, but because they elevate the wrong kind. They reward caution over courage, repetition over creation, politeness over force of will. Institutions, I concluded, do not exist to cultivate greatness; they exist to domesticate it."

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jan 19 2026

Mythical album. The place from where the 90s angst, cynisim and song structure would come from, later amplified beyond it's wildest dreams from the megaphone that was Nevermind. Doolittle and following albums may have better production, but the raw energy and crazy ideas make this one special.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jan 20 2026

I like when The Doors are more proto punk and less hippies. This album has some moments I loved but in occasions there were does cringe Doors moments. Will probably never listen again.

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Jan 21 2026

First listen Iost attention of the album after a couple of songs. My impression was that probably it was dull. Did a careful relisten and realized that like some great Ambient albums the music can drift to the background and still give you feelings. Sometimes John reminded me of some kind of Tom Waits, some times you feel the hippie force, sometimes you feel the African roots, it's an album for multiple listens. And the quality of the musicianship is amazing, tight reefs like the best blues from the time. Amazing discovery.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Jan 22 2026

Never was a Dead head and this album didn't turn me into one. Either way the album was a nice surprise. Heard it while watching the night sky doing line to a Imperial Triumphant concert and it moved me to a zen state. Going to hear it again and probably going to check more GD live albums. The lyrics of Dark Star are amazing.

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
Jan 23 2026

How can you make an objective reasoning of an album I love from 20 years ago and was almost mythic. The flow, the drum beats, the samples, the feeling of infant innocence through LSD. Mandatory listening for whoever wants to get deeper in electronic music.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Jan 24 2026

My taste for Salsa has been growing as I get older. Being a latin kid who didn't dance Salsa you get a contempt for it and not fitting in the culture. But years later you're a jazz head, who discovers fusion jazz and latin jazz, finally going full circle discovering Fania and all the same songs you hated as a kid, which you realize sound amazing. This album is Salsa perfection and a pillar in Latin culture. Long live Fania.

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood
Jan 25 2026

Couldn't care less. Felt generic 80s music. It was ok but going to forget it pretty soon.

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Jan 26 2026

What always I appreciate of listening to an Antony record is how beautiful and how sad it is. Hearing to any of his records can't be casual listening, it's always an experience that asks for attention. Amazing record.

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Jan 27 2026

Five seconds into the record and already a fan. What a nice surprise. Going to be my early morning house tasks record. Amazing vibes, amazing skill.

The Next Day by David Bowie
Jan 28 2026

First of all, why this album on the list? There are alot other Bowie albums and definitely other artists album which could take this place. Either way it's Bowie, the most trascendental artist in my life. The album has some great moments, and the production is excellent. I personally find this periods Bowie voice soothing and was glad to give it another listen after several years.

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Jan 29 2026

This record was all over the place, In occasions had to check if it was still the same album. It had some bangers, other ones were nothing special. Felt like moving through a multiverse with constant changes of environments and ambientations. Worth the time.

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Jan 30 2026

Enjoyed the listen. Everything good you expect from Morrison. His voice, lyrics, angst. Not comparable to the best Smiths records but either way a fine listen.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jan 31 2026

Loved this album as a teenager after a friend lend me the cd. Listening again after a long time it was a nice surprise. Such a unique sound, and still impresses me how that flute can rock so hard. Absolute classic.

It's A Shame About Ray by The Lemonheads
Feb 01 2026

Enjoyed this one more than I could imagine. Heard Johnston, heard Neutral Milk, heard the bands like Everclear that my best friend from highschool used to put after school. Never really realized they made that cover of Mrs. Robinson which I loved as a kid. Nothing trascendental but it was a fine listen.

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Feb 02 2026

In highschool, this album was my introduction to weider music. After being a Sex Pistols fan discovered PiL and bought this CD. From here I followed the way to Throbbing Gristle, No Wave and alot more different sounds.

Tical by Method Man
Feb 04 2026

Classic. Method was my favorite Wu in my youth.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Feb 05 2026

Always preferred the other Hole album since it's more raw and punkier. The album has more pop sensibilities. Either way a fine listen.

Trio by Dolly Parton
Feb 06 2026

It was ok and had beautiful moments. It just didn't strike a chord like other country records I love.

Rio by Duran Duran
Feb 07 2026

Never could really get into Duran Duran, but this album has it's great moments.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Feb 08 2026

Heard Frank recently because of 1001 and it blew my mind the evolution of Amy from there to this. The music is amazing, the lyrics are profound and Amy's vocal range is beautiful. Going to definitely listen to it again soon.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Feb 11 2026

First of all love the cover given it's something never expected from the California Girls guys. The album is all over the place and contrasts with a Pet Sounds which is such a cohesive album. Either way I'll give it a five given it has some of my all time favorite songs.

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Feb 12 2026

Amazing lyrics. Amazing vibe. Going to listen again to appreciate it more, felt repetitive at times but more listens could give me another perspective.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Feb 13 2026

Amazing experience. Peak American music and culture. One of the Jazz Gods greetings us with it's magic.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Feb 14 2026

One of the best triad of albums by a band ever. In my 13ns I was blown by The Bends. In my 15ns this album changed my perception of rock and life in general, it explained perfectly my angst and brought forward that cynic look at politicians and capitalism. And I wasn't even aware of what would come two years later One of the most trascendental albums of my life.

Marquee Moon by Television
Feb 15 2026

Somewhere in the middle of my 30s I concluded that post punk was one of the subgenres that has given me the greatest moments and this album is one of the greatest. It just hits me in all the right spots.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Feb 16 2026

Never heard this album with total attention. And I still haven't but putting it today noticed the influence this album would have in all the psycodelic indie in the years to come. Great listen as always, fell in love with the song waterfall.

Boston by Boston
Feb 17 2026

Fine listen. Not something I'll come back but appreciated the guitar and the classics.

Gentlemen by The Afghan Whigs
Feb 19 2026

Flashback to the 90s. Wasn't never a real fan of this sound, but listened to this style ad nauseam in highschool because of friends who loved it. Always really liked single Gentlemen. And had no idea the theme of the album. Ok listen.

Da Capo by Love
Feb 20 2026

I love Forever Changes and thats I had only heard from Love. What an amazing surprise Da Capo was.

Feb 21 2026

First with Fugees and then as Lauryn, some of this songs were trascendental since 13 years old.

Fuzzy Logic by Super Furry Animals
Feb 22 2026

One of those albums can't believe didn't hear in the 90s. Will definitely go back to it.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Feb 24 2026

There's a possibility this is the album because of which I listen to Swans or Residents nowadays. Something changed in my brain the moment "Smells like teen" made it's way to my young ears. Forgotten were my BonJovi and Aerosmith albums from that moment on.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Feb 25 2026

Always enjoyed this album l, never really listened to it with absolute attention. What a masterpiece. Young sounds so simple and sparce but it's so unique.

Solid Air by John Martyn
Feb 26 2026

Incredible listening, incredible atmosphere. Great surprise.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Feb 28 2026

Absolutely subjective on this one. Love it since maybe 8 years old and ever since for different reasons as I grew up. Juvenile, crass, but a fine album with crazy samples and three extraordinary MC's who create something unique. It would only get better from here.

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
Mar 01 2026

What a sad album. Amazing.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 03 2026
Private Dancer by Tina Turner
Mar 04 2026

I never could get into this. Tina is an amazing artist but this is not my thing.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Mar 05 2026

Always only heard Apache which I love. Going through this is going through hip hop history. Samples everywhere. Amazing.

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Mar 11 2026

Being a fan of Minutemen this was a great surprise.

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Mar 26 2026

That voice, the lyrics.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Mar 28 2026
Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Apr 06 2026

Brazilian music for those that don't have much interest in Brazilian music. It's fine, but didn't listened anything really innovative, which is something I always look forward for.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Apr 08 2026

Not my vibe but great album either way.
