GRITTY and RASPY blues. Savin all my love for you has a Christmas feel cause of the bells but is more of a sad love song. The lyrics are sung emotional and very rough, singing style is nothing I’ve heard I’ve heard before. Haven’t heard of Tom waits before getting this album and not sure how I feel. Musically, good, singing maybe not for me. Kinda all over the place with ballads and then blues.
Two songs in now and so far I like it. Good ole johnny cash stuff. Love the talking to the crowd. Got some staples of Johnny in here with Walk the Line, A Boy Named Sue, and Folsom Prison Blues. Definitely would recommend to people who are into country or Cash. San Quentin prison song is really cool coming from the viewpoint of an inmate and his hatred of the prison and how everyone thinks going to prison will make them automatically better when they leave. Great song. Solid record. 8/10 4 Stars
Classic Rap album, only knew nothin but a G thang. Pretty good, some songs were a bit too long. I’d give it a 7/10
Interesting rock album, singer reminded me of David Bowie, musically great moments, singing was eh for me but not bad whatsoever. 5/10
I know that run dmc are like one of the main staples when it comes to artists that made rap and hip-hop mainstream but good lord this album is bad. I skipped through half of it because everything sounded the same. Kinda like when a kid plays with the toy piano. 2/10
Pretty good first real intro to M.I.A. Heard the hit, but cool to hear her other stuff. Pretty unique from anything I’ve heard but it was intriguing throughout the whole record. 6.8/10
Some bangers, some wild song. Mother was something else 😂
Solid Nina Album, nothing really stood out to me but I could listen again
Album is kinda like spoken word poetry, but in a weird nod your head and go “well alright” kind of way. Musically it’s a lot of background vocals and piano/percussion floating in the back. Not my favorite but not horrible. Just very unique and definitely has a specific audience. 5/10
Solid rock album. Kinda reminds me of cheap trick at times
Gotta admit, I played the first song on this album a couple days ago and went nah. Tried again the next day and man it’s easily top 5 albums so far. I’m a sucker for 80’s synth pop/industrial style music and there were some studs on this record. Definitely would come back and play again.
ELO is one of my favorites to listen to and this album was great. Harmonies are phenomenal and you get two 10/10 tracks with Turn To Stone and Mr. Blue Sky. Overall, great ELO album with awesome synths, percussion, and guitars. Prob a 8/10.
Revisited a couple of times and it’s good but nothing really stood out among the rest
Good Grove/Funk album. First time ever hearing this artist and I'd come back and listen to this record on like a rainy day, fire in the background, cold out, having a drink. 7/10
Heard Changes before and it still holds strong on this record. Life on Mars is what I'm currently on as I type this out and it's the best song I've heard so far. Really well thought out musically and lyrically.
Knew a couple of songs on this album. Surprised by the production and songwriting in a good way. There were definitely some songs I'd revisit and add to playlists. Overall, liked it would probably rate a 7.5/10
I mean come on it's JB. Vocals are killer on this, I mean truthfully everything is. Hallelujah is still one of the best covers of all time. Vocals are a clear inspiration for Myles Kennedy and God Bless him for that. easily 9/10
Might be a hot take, but I don't like his voice at all. Harmonica fire tho.
Tarkus is a killer opening track as it goes through a ton of different changes and swings. So far have really enjoyed this album. Have heard of ELP many times before but always thought they were more folky, but boy I was wrong. Yeah this was a great prog rock album prob an 8/10
album kinda went by with not a ton sticking out. Sort of that classic first step in french house when it was blowing up in the late 90's 6/10
Good times a classic, hard not to sing "I said a hip hop the hippy" when hearing the bass line. Song just a biiiiiitttttt too long like can't see it being over 8 minutes long when its a bass line and piano riff for 2 and a half min. Warm summer night is in the same boat as repetitive and long. Just looping over and over. Feet keep dancing also not standing out. My forbidden lover, repetitive. Ya know I'm slowly realizing this album may not be for me lol. overall 4/10
Kinda forgettable album, I liked Parklife and would revisit that, but could not name another song off of this album if someone asked me too. Wasn't bad, just wasn't amazing.
Pretty hurts- good melody, productions done well kind of a banger
Haunted- more vibey, production again is great really like this one
Drunk in love- heard before, it’s fine but overplayed, prefer the other two over this track
Blow- head bopper, good fun pop song, very bubblegum, THE KEY CHANGE fire
No angel- weird dissonant vocals at the beginning, kinda just felt thrown together
Partition- the “beat drop” is bad at the beginning, there’s moments I like in the song but I think for it being a song that I know people love it’s at the bottom for me so far
Jealous- vocals were just like a flat line, wasn’t a huge fan of this always felt there was gonna be a pop and nothing
Rocket- got that 90’s R&B groove, like the ascending riff going into the chorus. Yeah this is a classic 90s Beyoncé destinys child vibe
Mine- like the piano and vocals, good change up, would be a great night time drive song, drake being a feature works really well. Some of his best songs are with this vibe and beat.
XO- I’ve heard the John Mayer version before this and I still like his more than this one. This track is good, but the beat is honestly too much for the lyrics imo. I feel like the lyrics ask for a slower tempo and more attention.
Flawless- I like the speaking parts in this, but song overall is kinda forgettable
Superpower- shoutout Frank, sadly forgettable with the other tracks in the record. Nothing in it stood out, aside from Frank
Heaven- sad song, if you’ve lost someone close, it could be a tough listen but great song
Blue- good song, like the vocals, cute to have that moment with her daughter at the end of the song
Run, Baby, Run- Wasn't a huge song for me, good chorus, but an eh for me
Leaving Las Vegas- at times the voice makes me cringe, sounds forced, this songs pretty basic wouldn't come back to this
Strong Enough- Like the finger picking acoustic intro, not a fan of her voice at this point
3 songs have passed now and nothing is memorable out of the bunch, I see all i wanna do is up next which i know and like but aside from that it's not been my favorite
I liked this album better than the other bowie record. Starman is a killer track. I feel like I'm in a small crowd of being eh with Bowie's music. Ziggy Stardust's chorus is fire. The guitar tones on this record are wild. I'd probably give this album a 5/10. Just right down the middle, couple of standout tracks, but Bowie isn't for me.
What the hell.... I didn't think this would literally be 69 songs. 3 hours?? There better be some damn bangers if I'm gonna basically gonna sit and listen to a movie. NGL not interested from the first 10 songs and really don't want to force myself into 3 hours of whatever they wanted to make. respect but no thanks
Fire riffs, some killer basslines, COP is a 10/10 song. I've listened to this album before, but this time it stood out. 8/10
Immediately recognized the riff from the first song from gettin' jiggy wit it by will smith. Going into it, I'm already thinking about Disco albums being repetitive and long, so I'm hoping this album isn't like that. Like the first song, does have that long period of just instruments for dancing, but pretty good song. Been a pretty enjoyable album so far. Each song is a good mix of well done vocals, interesting melodies and hooks, and good funky bass and guitar.
G Fuck intro- gas
Gin and juice- gas
The Shiznit- Fire beat, so far each songs beats are so damn good, flow is a bit the same
Lodi Dodi- again, like the beat, not my fav
Murder was the Case- love
Serial Killer- not bad, like the features but prob middle of the road for me
Who am I- good beat, talk box is a bit weird to have on here
For all my- good but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aint no fun- liked it
Doggy dogg world- fire
Gz and hustlas- fire
Pump pump- pretty good
Album had incredible beats, lyrics were good, overall 9/10
Phenomenal album from beginning to end
Interesting psych stuff going on with punk rock elements. good background music while working on things. Wasn't bored of it or waiting for it to end, just kept me interested. probably a good 6.5/10
Thought I was gonna really like this album but it was a meh for me. Some good stand out tracks but don’t think I’d revisit. 5/10
Good album all the way through. Experimental songs, more traditional Hispanic flamenco and more. 8/10
