Enjoyed this album, reminded me of other favorite rock bands from that era (the smiths, pink floyd). I started to lose interest at the end, last couple songs were a bit too long for my taste.
Before I listened to this whole album I would have described myself as a Blur fan. Now not so sure... I'm surprised at how much I didn't like this album. After the first two songs (which I grew up hearing all the time), nothing really stood out to me. I guess I am just a fan of 3 Blur songs (including Girls & Boys, not on this album).
I love the Stones and this album just solidifies that for me. Short and sweet, every song is pleasant and enjoyable to listen to. Makes me want to drive along the lakeshore with the top down.
Short and sweet. No complaints, this album made me feel like I should be relaxing on the beach. There's something so charming about Neil Young that while it is slow, it's still interesting and hits deeply.
I love the talking heads! I was most familiar with Once in a Lifetime on this album, but I really enjoyed listening to the whole thing.
I was surprised that I hadn't heard more of the songs on this album. But I loved it, it's such an emotional journey in the best 80s new wave way possible. So dramatic and fun.
Decent, I like the old style of hip hop/rap and elements of soul, jazz, and rock. Not my favorite listen but I'm glad that I now know about this album and this artist!
This album screams Van Morrison to me. Pretty good, I enjoyed the listen. I appreciate the live recordings, they showcase what a great artist he is.
Not too bad, can’t say I loved the entire thing but it’s iconic. Have to appreciate it for what it is.
I love the beatles, and this was an album I hadn't spent as much time with. I really enjoyed it!
Interesting, I liked the singer's voice. Goddess on a Hiway was really the only song I liked, nothing else grabbed me. I can appreciate the experimental nature of the album but I will not be returning.
Really enjoyed this album, love R.E.M. Reminds me of my childhood, especially Stand. Dad played that song who knows how many times.
Very interesting concept album, I didn't not enjoy it. It worked really well for me as background while working on something else. I don't think I would reach for this again.
Led Zeppelin is a solid 6/10 for me in general, I always tolerate it and sometimes enjoy it, but never put it on by myself. This album was decent though.
Love Dusty. Just a joy to listen to. So much emotion in the ballads. I wish I could have heard her sing live.
This album was cool. It seemed to mesh elements from other popular bands at the time but created this unique fusion sound. I loved the live string and brass sections! I’m surprised I’ve never heard of this band or album before, it seems like they’d be more popular. But maybe they were back in the day and it’s just fading over time…
I only knew one song from this album previously but enjoyed the whole thing!
I really loved this album, and while it was long, Marquee Moon (the song) was awesome and kept me engaged throughout. Would definitely play this again.
Love Bowie, Heroes is one of my favorite songs of all time. I enjoyed this album overall but could do without Neuköln. I think there are better Bowie albums so this gets a 4 for me.
Love me some disco, love me some Nile Rogers. I didn't love the slower songs but most were the perfect energizing backdrop for my workday.
This was just ok for me. I don't love his voice and found myself wishing the album was over sooner than it was.
Incredibly moody, eerie, made me feel like I was in a dramatic unsafe setting despite just being at work. I don't think I would listen again (as this album just mostly works best as a movie score) but I think it really accomplishes what it set out to do.
A classic. I always like a few songs from this album but listening to the whole thing was a lot.
Not bad, I tend to like 70s rock in general but this didn't stand out to me so much.
I really enjoyed this! A few songs I would definitely listen to again, and the rest made for really nice background while I was working.
I liked this more than I expected to given how I've never heard of this artist before. Some of it was a little boring but it was pleasant background music
This was probably pretty experimental and out there at the time. For me it wasn't bad, some songs were better than others. But it kind of sounded like off-brand beatles unfortunately
Reminded me a lot of the music I listened to in college - Frank Ocean, Anderson Paak, Masego - but with a focus on female empowerment.
Sunshine of your love is such a good song, the rest were good but didn't hold up as much for me.
I liked the first two, really didn't like the second two. I can appreciate this for what it is but I probably wouldn't return
Even though I like trip hop, this album didn't really do it for me. It was too slow, too eerie.
Not bad, but kind of just dragged on. I liked This Is The Day and Uncertain Smile, but the rest of the album I wouldn't listen to again.
I can see what they were going for here but meh. It didn't really work for me. A few decent melodies, but mostly songs I was wishing would end sooner.
I just kept imagining how amazing it would have been to hear her sing live. It was a very slow, emotional album that I found it hard to relate to, but I have to appreciate the artistry. A voice like hers is rare. I loved this in concept but it felt a bit heavy for me.
An iconic record, Alanis's voice is so unique and jarring. Yet each song on this album was enjoyable and indicative of the attitudes of the 90s. I can't say that I always reach for this one, but I won't skip any songs.
Decent, I didn't like it quite as much a Blue Lines but it hit the same trip hop itch
Honestly I normally really enjoy 90s rock (this feels similar to Blur) but this didn't do it for me. Was just kind of boring? Nothing stood out...
I didn't like this album much at all.
Meh. Roundabout is the only somewhat redeemable song and that isn't even very good. The rest of this album was a giant question mark that I didn't enjoy at all.
I just wasn't that impressed after the first two songs.
Idk why but all of this was just slightly off-putting? I think this was just bad.
Kind of interesting, probably very ahead of its time. Just not for me.
I've never been a huge Radiohead fan because the songs are typically too sad for me. But I can't deny how listening to this whole album in one sitting made me feel. So many beautiful and emotional songs make a really powerful record.
I probably can't give this album a proper review because not all of the songs are available on Spotify. But I probably wouldn't like the missing songs anyway. I'm sure this is on the list because it is thought-provoking, but I didn't like it.
I liked this album. It reminded me of TV Girl with the random samples and noises mixed in. I guess I should say that TV Girl reminds me of The Avalanches!
I could only listen to half of this album on Spotify but I didn't really get it. Seems to be making a statement about war? Idk. The music was not compelling enough to try to understand lol.
Honestly thought it was mildly enjoyable to listen to throughout, but when I got to time of the season at the end it made me realize how much worse the rest of the album is than this one song. Idk if I would listen to any of them again other than that one. But it wasn't offensive.
Meh. Kind of too depressing for me.
Pretty good! I liked the mellow vibe, feel like this was great for my nerves after a horrible day at work
I find Sheryl Crow's music to be a bit boring. I like the one really popular song but nothing on this album really grabbed me.
A little too weird for me
I love Aretha. This album was amazing, zero skips no notes
There's a violent, desperate edge to this album that I love. It's catchy, vibey, a little out there with some of the samples, but it's so good. What a crazy debut.
I have such distinct memories of listening to this on my iPod as a kid. I think I would love Jack White even if I wasn't from Detroit, but I love him even more because of it.
I didn't like it at first but it kind of warmed up to me as the album went on. Not what I typically like and probably not something I would listen to again, but decent.
I just don't like Radiohead that much. They have one thing they do well and its too depressing for me. No thanks.
I don’t think this is my favorite Stevie Wonder album but there are a few gems that redeem it for me
Liked this more than I expected to. Scooby Snacks I have definitely heard before, and the rest of the album didn't quite measure up to this one but was still pretty good. Reminds me of the beastie boys a little bit
The really popular songs (Born in the USA, I'm on Fire, Glory Days, Dancing in the Dark) make this album for me. I can't rate this anything less than a 4... just imagine putting this on at a summer BBQ or at the lake.
Literally just an hour of singing about killing people in an old timey 1900s kind of way. Outside of the subject matter, I don't think this style of music is for me.
Not too bad, I enjoyed it for the most part.
Lowkey, peaceful, haunting. A little too mellow for me but I could see this being the right vibe in a very specific setting (like embroidering by the fireplace on a rainy night or something)
Very funky, very groovy. Didn't like every song but there were a few bops.
It was ok, honestly not a huge Peter Gabriel fan. It just feels cheesy for some reason?
It's Motorhead! I think this would have been an amazing concert to be at. Electric, engaging, entertaining. The only detractors for me are his voice and some of the guitar solos (just not my thing).
I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked this album, having only heard The Boys Are Back in Town previously. But man this is great
Not unenjoyable. Lots of guitar. Very 70s rock. I really only loved Your Move. The rest was a lot of guitar and a lot of it blurred together.
Such a great live performance. His voice is incredible and I'll never get tired of hearing it. I also really appreciate that Johnny Cash made his music accessible to people in prison, and didn't view them as less than human.
Man these guitars are screechy. Why does the recording sound so bad? Like this actually gave me a headache to listen to, which is unfortunate because I feel like this album would actually be enjoyable if it was at all tolerable to listen to.
