New to this. The machine has chosen this for day one. Nothing I can say about this album that hasn't been said a million times over. Still sounds revolutionary nearly 60 years later

Some forgettable tracks but decent overall. Not really what I'd typically listen to but I can appreciate why others would enjoy this more.

Other than being really popular I'm not sure why such an inoffensive band attract such hate. This is pleasant enough but doesn't hit the heights of their second album.

Apt soundtrack for a dreary Thursday morning commute. Haven't listened to a Cure album start to finish previously, but this was wonderfully moody and visceral.

Pleasant enough and really tight musically. Nothing really caught my attention though and can't see myself revisiting this.

Had no idea what to expect from this but the weird ass cover art doesn't reflect the music particularly well. Some thoroughly decent songwriting on offer here. I was entertained throughout the full 43 minutes.

Glad I preserved with this. Really wasn't feeling the first couple of tracks, but as a whole album this was a treat.

The conclusion of an incredible three album run. There was a time when Arcade Fire could do no wrong. It's a shame their output has been increasingly dire through time because this is a reminder of how great this band used to be.

It's difficult to listen to music created for 12 year old girls in 1999 as a 34 year old dickhead in 2026. The title track being iconic and a couple of songs that cross the threshold into 'so bad it's good' give this one an extra star.

An amazing debut album. Not familiar with The Doors besides from a couple of the hits (and Jim Morrisons antics). This was brilliant from start to finish.

Excellent for the most part apart from some pretentious noodling half way through that seemed to last forever.

The vocals are grating. Lyrically, there's on the nose, then there's whatever this is. Not even some of the greatest musicians and songwriters of a generation could salvage this.

As someone not particularly well versed when it comes to country - this was a nice enough listen.

Sometimes, someone is that much of a cunt that it's impossible to separate the art from the artist and that's where I'm at with Clapton. It's a shame because this is a great blues record, albeit a bloated one.

An incredible album with the confidence and swagger of a band at the peak of their powers

Beyond the obvious classics, I've never really given Led Zep the time of day. I wish I had.

Some decent musicianship here... But this wasn't for me.

Tom Waits - elite songwriter and storyteller. This is exactly what you'd expect and want from a young Tom and for the most part it is delightful.... But I have to knock off one star for how jarring and conceited the pre-song chatter is at times.

Raw, uncompromising and really fucking good.

Delightfully smooth. A slightly frothier Portishead.

Doing some background wiki reading listening to this. Surprised to see the band were so scathing towards their own record. There's definitely something missing that makes this fall slightly short of greatness. That's not to say this isn't of brilliantly crafted tunes though.

Another one for the 'Jazz isn't for me' pile.

Middle-of-the-road britpop and very much a product of its time.

Raw, clever and charismatic. Classic.

Some smart songwriting and brilliant production. Not nothing that really stands - don't quite get the critical acclaim with Beck.

Found the first track somewhat grating and didn't have high hopes for the rest. Glad I stuck with it because this is a solid record with some really cool themes and sounds.

Energetic and fun for the most part. Can't help but feel this was repetitive at times.

The singles from this album are absolute all-timers. The rest is a mixed bag. Still worth a listen nonetheless.

I've always associated The Pogues and Shane McGowan as a bloke with no teeth who once sang Fairytale of New York with a shark on Harry Hill's TV burp. Turns out they're really fucking good. Who knew?

First there's the childish amusement of seeing the name of this album - Then there's the horror of realising that this is indeed 69 songs long. Surprisingly though I couldn't help but enjoy this - full of charm, wit and character.

Maybe I'm just unworldly and uncultured... But this bored me.

This is really well-produced, with some nice beats. I really appreciate the important message being conveyed lyrically, especially given how sensitive this topic is. Unfortunately, though, it just doesn't have enough musical energy to fully engage me.

This weird guy can sure write some classics tunes.

I'm not a huge rap fan but this was absolutely solid if not a touch too long.

I've never fully understood the appeal of Dylan. That being said I liked this more than I thought I would.

Very top heavy - 3 massive singles back to back followed by a mixed and sometimes bland collection of tracks.

Sounds like it belongs on the soundtrack of a middling snowboarding game on the PS1.

Magical stuff. This is album number 65 for me, and from a purely songwriting viewpoint probably the best of the lot up to now. I am gobsmacked that Nick Drake was just 21 when this was released??

This felt like the same 2 or 3 songs on repeat. Good songs nonetheless but not enough variety.

Considering the man and the meaning behind this album, I'm glad I listened to this. Will I listen to it again? Probably not..

Okay for what it is.. Lyrically heavy handed and nothing particularly memorable.

Eh.. Really well made album, but didn't really interest me. I know it's an ignorant excuse but if I understood the lyrics maybe it would have got an extra star.

This sounds like it was created by the white guy with dreadlocks from the second Inbetweeners movie (the one Will rants at). That being said, there's some really nice, groovy sounds here but the lyrics made me cringe more than once.

Groovy baby

Had high hopes for this after the first track but it loses it's way at points.

I could feel my eyes roll back into my head at getting another jazz offering. This was great though - full of chaotic twists and turns. At no point this this drag (which a lot of these albums have). A pleasant surprise.

An album of complete filler with the odd bop thrown in.

Lovely, melodic and easy to listen to.

Subtle as a brick to the face and all the better for it. The smell of Jack Daniels and stale cigarette smoke is strong with this one.
