Reminds me of Ants From Up There (this must be an early inspiration). Vocalist always sounds like they're on the verge of a mental collapse- half-wailing? Reminds me of Isaac Wood (a lot). Good composition throughout the whole album- very orchestral. Interesting, provoking lyrics! I like the one review that called it the whitest album they ever heard. Songs do blur together, though, and I can't differentiate between them all that well. Great cover art though.
Good Album! Not my favorites from the Smiths, but unmistakably them in terms of lyricism and melody. Very Smiths-esque. My favorite is still I Won't Share You- haunting last song from the band, isn't it?
Jammed up! Amazing guitar work, but would I listen to it again? Probably not, aside from the shorter tracks like Crosstown Traffic. It's just not my thing, unfortunately. Great cover art, though! Would like to try again with a new perspective on it in the future.
Epic. I like the guitars!!! OZZY OSBORNE IS A SICK NAME!!!! Great atmospheric music
Amazing album... Motion Picture Soundtrack never gets any less haunting and beautiful. HTDC is always a fav, as well as Idioteque. In Limbo is good as well, and I also love the ending "Untitled" track a lot---perfect ambient ending to the album. BUT I hate Morning Bell, I can't stand the way Thom sounds on that track. That's my only qualm with the album.
You can always count on Beck for a fun album! Definitely a very experimental mix of sounds... but they somehow work out in the end. A bit scary to listen to at times, but an earworm all the same. It has its hits: Devil's Haircut, The New Pollution, and Where It's At, but overall, as an album, it is not my favorite.
A classic!!! You can never go wrong with Neil Young (although from the reviews I realized that he really is a hit or miss for people) I’m not always a fan of long, instrumental-heavy “jam” tracks, but this album convinced me otherwise. Everything feels coherent and deliberate, even with its lingering, sprawling guitars and whatnot. Favs: Down by the river & running dry
Very fun!!!! Unique sounds
Doododoooo good vibes yadayada
First Billy Joel album I listened to but I loved it!!! I dig white boys going crazy on the piano
Hard to find online... but fun and unique! Might listen again just to experience it differently, because it didn't really click this time for me. I liked his tangent about the different types of blues though.
Good but is dragged down by its runtime…
10/10! Super influential and just gets me in that mood where I wanna move around the room real slow and wave my arms around to the beat
Expected more from a band with such a cool name.. bland, uninspired, and unoriginal… nothing memorable but not insulting to the ears. I feel like I got CLICKBAITED!
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would! Beep ba boop
Bruv what is this madness ?? 😭😭😭😭 The Godfather of Yuno Miles… also I swear dizzee put a spell on me or something because on the first track I was like “my first 1 star album…” and then at some point I started thinking “This isn’t SO bad. And it’s funny and entertaining, I haven’t been bored a single second” and then I got a little sad that the album was ending bc Bro Dizzee js my friend now he’s so funny and goofy what is he on man. Anyway I thought “I luv u” was the worst track ever when I first heard it but low-key it’s an earworm like the beat is horrendous but oh my god
OK stooges album. It was stodgy
