Illmatic by Nas
Mar 27 2026

Prefer Rakim.

xx by The xx
Mar 30 2026

it has a place but on the dull end of the spectrum

Odelay by Beck
Mar 31 2026

Some good bits, some a bit dull.

Aja by Steely Dan
Apr 17 2026
La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Apr 30 2026

Loved it when it came out, but it's a lost a bit of shine over the years.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
May 01 2026

Not as polished as their studio ouvre, but pure class.

Young Americans by David Bowie
May 05 2026

trying a bit too hard to be wacky

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
May 12 2026

Never really been my thing. All a bit safe and boring, tbh

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
May 13 2026
Stardust by Willie Nelson
May 14 2026

Nice but not 5*

The Renaissance by Q-Tip
May 15 2026

Nice in an Organized Konfusion, Tribe Called Quest kind of way.

So by Peter Gabriel
May 18 2026

It's ok. Some good classics, but not overly memorable as a whole.

May 19 2026

Cracking nonsense. Possibly not their best overall, but still excellent.

The Man Who by Travis
May 20 2026

Bland and inoffensive. Still miles better than Coldplay.

B-52's by The B-52's
May 21 2026

Crazy, quirky, and fresh, even 45 years later. Love it.

I See A Darkness by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
May 22 2026

Probably quite good. Not available as an album on Spotify in UK.

Who's Next by The Who
May 25 2026

Some great tunes there.

Murmur by R.E.M.
May 26 2026

Fairly dull, but inoffensive.

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
May 27 2026

I appreciate their place in the transition from 80s to more modern rock, but they've never really done it for me. Perry is a bit grating.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
May 29 2026

Took years to 'get' Neil Young, but I now love his stuff.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jun 02 2026

Absolute perfection in every minute.

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Jun 03 2026

utter bollocks

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Sep 23 2026

It's no Wu Tang, that's for sure.

Document by R.E.M.
Sep 24 2026

Some good songs, well written and produced, but doesn't really stand out as anything more than "not bad".

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Sep 25 2026

A couple of good tunes, mostly filler to me.

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Sep 30 2026

Not my favourite album of hers, but an interesting insight into her creative process.

My Generation by The Who
Oct 05 2026

Not their best work, imho.

Doolittle by Pixies
Oct 06 2026

I like a couple of their tunes and appreciate their impact on later genres, but whilst many of my friends love them, I've never been a massive fan. I have tried several times.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Oct 07 2026

Yeah, not a bad listen.

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Oct 09 2026
Machine Head by Deep Purple
Oct 13 2026

Gillan, Blackmore, Lord, Glover, Paice. You don't come across many lineups better than that.

Trio by Dolly Parton
Oct 14 2026
Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Oct 16 2026

Sure this was better when I heard it the first time 35 years ago.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Oct 27 2026

She had a good set of lungs, I'll give her that! Some classics on this.

Oct 29 2026

Excellent album, although I prefer The Heart of Saturday Night - cool jazz club vibes evoking such an atmosphere.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Oct 31 2026

Again, I'm not going to even give this dick the airtime.

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Nov 05 2026

I love Bill Callahan and Lambchop, so on paper Bright Flight should be right up my street. Instead, it sounds like a band trying to capture the weary, understated charm of both, but missing what makes either so compelling. The songs meander, the melodies rarely engage, and the deliberately shambolic performances become increasingly tiresome. I can see what they're going for. I just don't think they get there.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Nov 07 2026

Led Zeppelin have never really done it for me. I think Page is overrated as a guitarist, Plant's vocals are a bit whiny, and despite some interesting ideas, the album never really rises above the sum of its parts.
