Interesting. I'm knew that he started with Charlie Parker playing Bebop and his style grew to be instrumental in the development of Fusion, but my first knowledge of his music starts with Kind of Blue. This is not there yet and is basically Post-Bop. It is really good and you can hear where he eventually went.
The Stones are my favorite of the 60s British Invasion Groups and this album has one of my favorite Stones albums, Gimme Shelter.
While this was a very popular album, Disco is not my thing. We Are Family is my least favorite song on the album. I am more favorable to those songs that lean toward funk.
The Smiths is a difficult listen because Morrissey is an ass. I like some of their music, but too much of it is about Morrissey.
One of Deep Purple's best albums. I am a fan.

I was very unfamiliar with this album and it is outside the genres that I normally listen to, but it was pretty good.
While I will listen to some rap artists, it is generally outside of the music that I normally listen to. I had never heard of Jeru the Damaja. It feels like the artist was not into the gangster lifestyle and was pretty mellow by rap standards. Not bad.
It might technically be very good, but the music did not speak to me and I didn't really like it.

Neil Young's best Folk album. It has some of his best known hits like Old Man, Heart of Gold, and Needle and the Damage Done.

The Youngbloods are listed both as a Folk band and as a Psychedelic Band. While I hear both, I also hear Jazz, Blues, and Bluegrass. They are inoffensive, but also don't have a lot to hold my attention.
Great album that fit in with the rise of Grunge and Punk in the 90s
Folk Rock and a little Punk. This album has some of my favorite Neil Young songs, Out of the Black and into the Blue, Out of the Blue and into the Black, Powderfinger, and Welfare Mothers.
This is The Police's last album, made when they were at their most popular. It is a very good gateway into The Police, but Ghost In the Machine and Outlandos D'Amour are better albums.
I love Solitude Standing, Vega's second album, and that's all I thought I knew, but there are several songs on this album that I also know and like, Marlene on the Wall and The Queen and the Soldier for 2. This album was her first album and it succinctly described where she was going. It's all very nice Folk Pop.
Crossing Psychedelia and whiskey blues, I can't say that I'm really a fan. Janis Joplin went on to greater things before ending in the 27 Club.
The soundtrack for all teenage boys, and some girls, in the 80s. The first album with Brian Johnson replacing Bonn Scott and the best. Hard Rock.
The height of California Soft Rock. It was very popular and I remember every song from my childhood. It rightly won several Grammys.
With Violent Femmes, I discovered Folk Punk. It was at a concert for this album where I first ventured into the pit, though admittedly just about the entire floor was the pit. Every song on this album speaks to me.

Angry Industrial Rock and NIN's most popular album, but I prefer Pretty Hate Machine.
Brit/Ork Pop from the 90s. Not bad, but not really my thing.

I'm not a huge fan of Courtney Love, but she did create a couple of great albums, this being the second.

I am generally not a huge fan of Morrissey. He seems to be a huge narcissist whose attitude seems to infuse his music. Having said that, this is not bad.

I generally not a huge fan of heavy metal, but Iron Maiden is a huge exception. Driving music with very literate lyrics. I like it a lot.

Very soft, slow, and melodic. Calming. I like Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and this is one of his better albums.
The first album of a folk rock supergroup. It had two hits with Judy Blue Eyes and Marrakech Express, but I also really like Wooden Ships.
Hugely influential. It was the guiding star for what Punk Rock would become. Fast, angry, and very catchy.
While Patti Smith was at the birth of Punk Rock (married to Fred "Sonic" Smith), her music is generally too slow and earnest for me. This is not bad.
While I don't normally listen to a lot of R&B or Soul, I like Bobby Womack's voice. This is a very nice soul album from the early 80s.
While I was familiar with some of Madness' other music (besides Our House), I had never heard The Rise and Fall. While there is a taste of Two Tone here, there is also some jazz, Indian, and pop. Not bad.
I like later Sonic Youth, but have little experience with their output pre-Daydream Nation (I knew and like Schizophrenia). It's a lot of noise and chaos, but it works and I like it.
The album that made U2 huge. The first three songs made their career. I like U2, and this is a good album, but I prefer when they were an Irish punk band like with their first three albums.
There is a reason that it's the best selling jazz album of all time. I picked up a copy of this CD when I was in college (35 years ago) and it's a great album both for active listening and background. I love it.
Megadeth is one of the better Thrash Metal Bands around. While there are no songs here that will fall into my regular rotation, this is not bad.
