1001 Albums Summary

Great, very pleasant all around. Moving first track

not too much of my jam, but it wasn't unpleasant to listen to either.

I already listened to it before. I really like the emotions that shone through this album. Wouldn't listen on repeat, but it's been very nice to rehear it today.

sick beats, but some lyrics were distracting. I enjoyed the second half better

Enjoyable listen, altough this record's sound is a bit too consistent for my taste.

surprisingly nice, title track is my favorite. Corny, distracting lyrics though, wish it were more inspired.

Really nice to listen to, forgot i liked chiller music. favorite was the opener.

a deelight, but also a bit too consistent for my tastes

nice listen, but a bit of too repetitive for my tastes. middle of the album was a highlight

My fave suggestion so far on day 10. Really cool all the way through, made me feel nostalgic.

I enjoyed it overall, i like the energy, but i don't know if i'd ever relisten to it on any given day. Hasn't left a mark on me like Bjork's solo work has done before. I think some of them shine much brighter.

nice listen but seems either overhyped or not my jam. Appreciation might also be influenced by what i think of the artist

nice homework, bit long but still nice with the right mood

Underwhelmed a bit, but it's ok. Made me want to listen to something else though.

C'est chic

i like the crazy. Could've singed about more diverse subjects tho

Didn't think it was much of my vibe but I actually quite enjoyed myself. Nice surprise, nice listen.

Glad to have heard this, but it's just not ween enough for me.. maybe not in the right mood, perhaps will improve my opinion later on

peak ? vraiment plaisant merci air, belle découverte

It was quite pleasant all in all, but it really does feel like this album has a severe iron deficiency

felt pretty limp today, so i didn't think i'd enjoy the listen but i actually did !

huge banger, but couldve gone without all the misogyny and other vile lyrics. product of its time but still

ngl, first album i didn't enjoy on day 23.. bored as all hell and disappointed. still kinda enjoyed 2 songs in there. but ticked off by the fact that this was hugely popular, it sounds so empty..

Honestly a bit of a let down, prolly not their best album

I enjoyed my time with this album, although too much time with a voice as distinctive as Morrissey and it starts to feel a bit repetitive for some reason. perhaps the smiths could have benefited from multiple vocalists

Mr Wonder blessed my day with an absolute banger ! More often than not, i feel too gloomy to enjoy such happy music, but I bet this isn't how it works

Might not be a fair review, but i really did not enjoy my time with this album. There was nothing stimulating at all to me.

sorry but much too long. not bad but too long and uniform.

Pretty nice listen ! short and sweet

i like that it wasn't long, bc it's not my vibe.

nice listen !

pretty great, enjoyed it more than expected actually ! really catchy stuff, pretty redundant topics though lol

Pretty pleasant ! but it wasn't as engaging as i'd hoped.

enjoyed it more than i shouldve, it was a vibe

found out i like the beatles

pretty great ! n depressing

Yea, pretty nice, though got bored with the too consistent rhythm

yup, pretty nice vibe, it's just the right length, i think it wouldve gotten stale if it went on for longer

Yeah, this right here is straight fire actually, i have nothing else to say lol

Liked it, especially the low, tired end of the album. But something is missing, even with two listens, maybe it just didn't vibe with me today, or maybe it's because i got a fire-er eno album yesterday.

banging! my one big complaint is i couldn't at all focus on my reading, there was so much going on in my ears. that's on me though!

pretty nice, though pretty sloppy sounding too. sounds like sad soup.

was pretty fun all in all, but minus points for reminding me the usa exist lol

major banger alert, it sounds like a warm evening with a gentle breeze. one of the most enjoyable listens so far, loved it !

just another reminder curators are painfully usa and uk people. who the heck cares for so much americana in a single list, if not those who were shoved this kinda music down their throat growing up ? what the hell does "world music" mean ? got irritated by the over-representation of americana music, though this album wasn't so unenjoyable towards the end. but minus point for its name and cover, cuz i'm a salty prick. just thought this list might be a good opportunity to expand your horizons, you know ?

sure, whatever, i'll take it over any country album lol. makes for an interesting ambience actually

It made for a nice listen, but i didn't feel there were any particularly memorable parts for me

mr. albarn will always sound like childhood to me. always a treat to discover another one of his side project, one of his most cohesive ones as well ! i think this dude should try to make videogame music btw, i think his sound should lend itself well to the medium. also, i don't understand why this is on here ? why is this here but not demon days or plastic beach ? tf ?

To everyone reading this: if you don't want to listen to this pedophile, How about listening to this modest selection of other variété française ? - Charles Aznavour - Emmenez-moi - Georges Brassens - Les passantes - Joe Dassin - Dans les yeux d'émilie - Françoise Hardy - Le temps de l'amour - Jacques Dutronc - Fais pas ci, fais pas ça - Bruno Pelletier - Le temps des cathédrales - Maxime le Forestier - San Francisco - France Gall - Poupée de cire, poupée de son - Hugues Aufray - Santiano - Jacques Brel - Amsterdam - Edith Piaf - Milord - Nino Ferrer - Le sud - Daniel Balavoine - Tous les cris les S.O.S. (don't hesitate to skip songs if bored, i wanted to try to cover the genre's main figures/songs instead of suggesting one album) (other famous songs which aren't classic singer-songwriter stuff:) - Les Rita Mitsouko - Marcia Baïla - Partenaire particulier - Partenaire particulier - Manau - La tribu de Dana - Salut c'est cool - Les fleurs If you want to go explore old french music more in depth but don't wanna listen to vile people or lyrics, i recommend you avoid gainsbourg, claude françois, jean-luc lahaye, and maybe michel sardou as well as noir désir.

actually, i respectfully didn't enjoy this one. too monotone all the way through, & the disengaged yelling becomes grating pretty early on.

pretty fun, nice gothy vibes, a bit drawn out tho. love that the 80's sound is so different and far from today's music that it kinda starts to sound alien to me.

It was a nice listen but honestly not a memorable one.

a fun listen ! pretty fun, but didn't think much else of it tbh

love that woman, it's such a unique sound and a weird album all in all, i'm glad that this has come up as the suggestion yesterday

I quite enjoyed it ! was scared not to, due to the over-repetitive rhythms, but those heartfelt vocals do seem to help break the risk of monotony. still a bit too long for the lack of variability though

a teensy bit fun, i do like stories

absolutely depressing subject matter distracted me from how boring the instrumentals are. singer has a beautiful voice too, so bonus point

boooooooored as hell

really fun listen, some major tunes in there, tho is it bad to say i enjoyed music for the masses better ?

and you're telling me this is his debut album..... what the heck, still such a banger, it was probably that much more impressive around the release time.. one of my fave suggestion so far, it's such a solid classic.

Idk, got pretty bored !

This guy wants a girlfriend i think ? All in all, thought i'd hate it but i probably only lightly dislike it. Too long as well, but one bonus point for the honest lyrics, i did kinda liked them as it turns out

wayyy too long/repetitive, but i appreciated it a bit. liked his voice too.

Loved it ! Jack Bruce sounds eerily similar to Josh Homme sometimes, or is it just me ?

absolute blessing for my ears, this is such a solid record ! loved every second of it

Was pretty fun and different, but a bit too soupy and similar all the way thru. still quite enjoyed it

kinda nice but mostly boring tbh ! monotone rapper, & minus point for boring lyrics themes, couldn't keep me engaged at all

had a high quality nap waking up to can't make a sound

wayyyyy too long songs, some of them would be better off cut in half. drawn out but would've been enjoyable otherwise

I do find disrespectful to only credit one of the three singers out of an album called trio. that said it was pretty great, i do love proper story telling and great skillful singing

It was okay

Was pretty ok, though would've been maybe a bit boring if it weren't for the beautiful singing voice. Had to skip Someone like you for optimal enjoyement.

Nice listen and appreciate the change of pace from soupy sounding stuff. Stronger first set of songs with a doors kinda vibe, the rest was less memorable.

Booooring.. absolutely nothing of note, almost soured my mood

glad this is over

Great discovery ! Loved the change of pace from the ultra predictive stuff this list has. Pretty limp album though but that's part of the point. Also pretty strong for a debut album

ch ch ch ch changes so many classics in 1 package, though i couldve just listened to changes 11 times for the same score
