Life Thru A Lens

Good fun, positive vibes. Makes really nice Cities: Skylines background music if anyone was curious
I don't have time to type this but 5/5 for sure
I played through the first 5 songs of tago mago on bass, just doing it by ear and jamming with the band, and wow. The subtleties of those bass lines are incredible, the interplay between the drummer and the bassist is some genius stuff. Especially on the song Helluhwah, the way the bassist will be playing the groove, subtly changing it over the course of a few measures and hiding behind the beat, then just dipping out in a way where you don't even notice he stopped playing and a synth/guitar break will come in and carry the song in a new direction
A wild burst of energy that gave me an admiration for this genre which I otherwise would not have listened to. I went down a YouTube rabbit hole watching this guy's old performances the night I found this album
Pretty chill vibes, good music for a date night or chilling at home on the couch

Love the bassline on the end of first worksong, welcome to the occupation is fun and singable, and of course there's it's the end of the world as we know it. I didn't even know that song was on this album and probably wouldn't have thought to look at this one
Loads of energy, loads of charisma, some questionable lyrics, but an overall a solid album with some iconic hits
i don't have time to write this but it was fun lol
Nothing particularly wrong with it, just thought it lacked energy and was a bit generic at times. Two songs that stood out to me personally were octopus and it's no good trying
Interesting
I really wasn't a huge fan, taste is subjective I suppose. I found some of the guitar work interesting, but to me it felt like a throwback to 70's punk, which is cool, but the band really didn't seem to bring anything new to the table. Singer is always yelling, even on quiet songs, which became irritating.
How u gonna give this album anything other than a 5?
Amazing mood booster, super fun
I listened to this while having some Guinness and talking about life with my brother, for that it is really fitting. Really unique ambient house with some interesting textures, especially on the drum tracks. A lot of the songs feel like you're listening to an 808 trapped inside of a black hole
Definitely a keeper, I have to let this one soak in for a bit before I'm ready for the final rating
Rad
Hilarious, at times almost psychedelic, but really not my thing. Just couldn't get past the tongue and cheek feeling of the whole thing lol. I cast you out! Unclean spirit!
Great energy, unique melodies and beats, a truly good album. Good positive vibes I dig it overall.

A lot more refined and mellowed out than I expected. I think I am more familiar with his upbeat radio hits. An unexpected treat. But there is one thing.... Wonder? Rings a bell for some reason... wonder.... Strange.
Interesting moments, especially those coming from the rhythm section. Guitar work complimented the music and even had a few cool moments, like on track 4. The dark and brooding lyrics mixed well with the instrumentation, although the falsetto screaming was in my opinion in poor taste and a display of improper technique on the part of the singer. Beyond the first half of the album I just couldn't retain much interest and sincerely felt that some of the tracks were half hearted. This could have been a 4 star EP, but it is a 3 star LP given the completely uninteresting second half and... misguided vocal performances.
Absolutely loved this album, totally off the wall, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find the lyrics captivating. Interesting.
Meh.
My favorite hipsters
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC - 1988 edition Jack of all trades, master of none.
I wish I had more time to write this review. An easy 5, fun, catchy, and also some political moments. Great album!
Awesome, great vibe, and I even recognized a few tracks! I want you to want me is legendary
More of the same crap. I'm getting real cynical toward 70's-80's punk/post punk/alt stuff from this list. The integration of the horn section was good, I liked the moody songs somewhere around track 3/track 4 but not really impressed.
i wish la da da da da da song was on here. -1 star
Woooohooo
Quit listening half way through but listened to it on the way home and didn't regret it. What a fun album, and of course i enjoyed the bass work
Made it on my playlist, love the chill vibes, beautiful vocals and smooth flows
The Beat Holes aren't so bad after all
Listened to it quite a few times, such good vibes. I really hear a lot of hooks and stuff that sound like they could have been in modern indie rock music, so I suppose their influence lives on!
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs always give me the feels and I enjoyed revisiting this album, reminds me of high school years
I really relate to the lyrics about feeling lonely, seeing the genuine emotions in people even when they can't, feeling like you don't have a home, and unconditional love toward someone who you care about later in the album. I found it very relatable and it's really nice for the right setting, I don't think I'll be jamming it every day but great lyrics, great voice, excellent story telling
Definitely not an industry plant lol

Upon my initial listen I am not extremely thrilled with this piece. I think that it's very prototypical punk music, and that modern music would have suffered without acts like Buzzcocks. Unfortunately, I don't think I understand it yet, and most of the album just bleeds together for me. After hearing the song Ever Fall In Love from a different album, I think I understand the influence, but I need to listen to more of their work to fully respect what this album and the group means for culture going in to the future. Just an average score for now.
Gets a little hard to listen to after a while but that's more of a matter of taste. I love a lot of tracks on here and the skits mixed in are hilarious, eminem is one of the greats
Thought provoking lyrics and buttery guitars, some catchy beats. A couple tracks made it to my playlist but I wouldn't really come back to this one.
Can't go wrong with this album, just some classic 90's shit
Entertaining, not the biggest fan of her voice though
Lofi beats to study and relax to
Neil has just never really been my thing, but I gave 3 stars for respect. More of a taste thing for me.
With the context in mind that this was their last album together, it makes sense that the themes felt a bit disjointed. A lot of concepts seemed like an interesting direction toward more accessible pop music, but lots of this just felt unenthusiastic or half baked. The first half of the album was pretty great, really loved A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours, and Death of a Disco Dancer found my self bopping my head and even laughing at a couple of the lyrics (in a good way). The sappiness on a lot of the tracks toward the end of the album would normally be welcome, but I felt the lyrics were too bluntly stated to be poetic, especially given their previous work.
There sheee goooeeesss. The album is actually solid, probably not something I'd listen to regularly but I would have loved to see them in the early 90's at a small club, drink beers, and dance like an idiot.
Reminds me of a movie soundtrack for an imaginary film about rocket ships being lost in outer space. Super interesting, really chill, I love it
One of my all time favorites, Kurt Cobain at his gloomiest and angriest, what else can I say?
Just a good ass album, it has all the components of a perfect rock album
I was busy with work so didn't listen super close but really liked it
Super chill
First song is an absolute banger, worth checking out if for nothing but that
Awesome album!
I don't have time to type this but 5/5 for sure
Gotta love the vocals, and the songs as standalones are all perfectly fine, but I find a lot of FM's stuff really samey and difficult to stay engaged in when it comes to listening to a whole album.
How could you not like steely Dan?
Nothing special but nothing particularly unpleasant
Out of this world jazzy psychedelic bundt cake
Screw kid rock. Just no.
see you, space cowboy
It was a good album
Bangers
