The Suburbs
Arcade FireA fantastic album
A fantastic album
some enjoyable tracks but mastering/production rubbish in parts with balance of instruments and vocals
Enjoyed this, for something 26 years old it doesn't sound particular dated. Pretty phenomenal for a debut record.
I quite enjoyed this whole album. While I'd heard one or two songs off it, overall it's got great guitar and rhythm and the vocals were great too.
Wasnβt sure what to expect from this. Not a genre I frequent. Ended up listening to most of it twice, couple of tracks I really wasnβt into (2nd) but some I quite enjoyed. 3rd, 4th, 9th. Quite interesting Rhythm/beats, with mixture of instruments/sounds (strings etc) etc.
The whole rappers feuding with other rappers and dis track thing doesnβt really do me. Never the less, nicely produced with some good tunes in there.
Quite enjoyed this, might be the album, might be because Iβm at the beach on holidayβ¦
I love this album, played heaps when younger, the dudes a bit crazy but putting that side, great album.
Meh. The βAmericaβ ness is a bit heavy handed for me. Couple of decent tracks.
Couple of excellent tracks on here. But some really odd lyrics on others. I will say that the production quality is excellent, Bowies hand showing.
Some genuinely good stuff on here. Bits Iβm not into as well. Dunno if just the Apple Music mastering but wildly different volumes across a couple of tracks.
Some high points on this album, but some bland bits too. Definitely a 70s sounds palate, bit of prog rock, ballad etc. Almost gave it a 4 but ultimately decided Better music albums from the mid 70s.
I know itβs critically acclaimed but I find it hard to connect with and then appreciate the lyrics and writing. Itβs not unlistenable but not something Iβd chose.
Great album even 15 years on. Taking into account when it was written 2006/7 the messaging around the commercialisation and exploitation of Religion makes more sense in that context. The gloomy tone is helped by the usage of organ etc throughout the album. Intervention, no car go, my body is a cage, keep the car running some of my favourites off this album. Doesnβt get as much credit as it should, probably not helped by being the follower to one of the most acclaimed indie debuts ever.
Itβs of a time and of a style. Feel like Iβm in my grandparents living room after dinner and a full dessert, sitting on the couch.
Undoubtably a important album. Find it hard to appreciate how unique this must have sounded upon release.
Not my Jam. Very mediocre
Not a fan
I enjoyed this, felt very raw and real.
Ehh couple of good tracks rest didnβt click
Pretty great sounding album for 50 years ago
When I saw 4 tracks at 40 mins total time I knew it was going to be something unusual! Didnβt mind it though, they were def on some shit when they wrote this
Great album, listened to this a lot when younger
Interesting listen, ranged between spoken word, some great tracks, and some that could have been IRD hold music.
Didnβt love this. Pretty mediocre and enormous length too but all sounded the same
Iβm sure they thought this sounded good when they made it while off their faces on drugs.
Quite enjoyed this. Good to just cruise along to
Ehhh started ok then not to my taste
Solid album
This is a great album full of tunes
This is a great album full of tunes
Some good songs but some just donβt click with me
I enjoyed this more than I expected too. Some quite varied track, and vocals. pretty decent.
Was not into the vocals at all. Weird vibrato
A fantastic album
Ehhh
Ehh meh
It was ok.
Takes me back to childhood. Dad used to play this album often. Hearing it now after 15 years itβs like a comfy jersey
