interesting
Definitely Maybe lacks a unique sound, nothing sounds daring or sticks out, and the album falls flat overall. Stand outs on the album include tracks such as Live Forever and Supersonic. Other then those, I felt that this album had nothing notable to give and pales in comparison to Oasis' later albums. Definitely Maybe not listening again.
Interesting Sound, B Side was good up until No Cars Go where the songs started to get repetitive and same sounding. Solid album tho, 3.5.
This album has banger after banger. It's a near perfect album that isn't long, and still manages to lure you in for 41 mins and you come out not even realizing how much time has passed. Every song on this album is a hit. 5/5
For the love of god, pick a fucking genre. Too British, too boring, too fucking shit. I'd get more enjoyment by listening to someone mash two cheese graters together. Songs feel like they have no connection to one another. Feels more like a compilation of songs made for tv and movies rather than an actual album. Singing is uninspired and makes me want to jump into a 30 foot abyss full of sharks.
worst album ive ever heard 0/10
Pretty damn good album. The instrumentals on the album are insanely good and the artist meshed the genres together so well. This album is an absolute masterpiece for someone who was never fully into hip-hop/rap.
This album seemed to lack direction in some areas. Some tracks sound good, some are subpar, some feel misplaced, and some have an interesting sound instrumentally but are lacking lyrically. The lyrics on some of the tracks seem off and don't seem to have a good flow, which threw me off when listening. Overall nothing groundbreaking.
Notable songs: Nothin' To Hide, Animal Zoo, Love Has Found A Way, Mr. Skin.
"I came for EIlen stood for Reminisce" - David
"Its a deaf in one ear kinda album - Caleb
Nobody Papas like The Mamas
An okay country/folk album. The harmonized vocals make for a pleasant sound, but the instrumentals are lacking to make for unique tracks on the album. I dropped the album towards the end.
This album has very little direction, odd shifts in tone, subpar vocals and effects, and a few covers that are just not memorable. Each song had jarring shifts in sound style, and while changes like that would be considered unique, it doesn't really work here in an album with too many songs, and most, if not all, don't match well here. It was not very enjoyable to listen to, overall a 2/5 kind of album.
Notable songs: Holocaust, For You, Blue Moon
Heavily disliked: Jesus Christ, Stroke it Noel, Downs
The album opens with the track "School." It starts with a harmonica intro to open up the album and set the tone. This track shows off the album's proggy side. It includes standout vocals, interesting lyrics, and great instrumentals to give it a fantastic start.
"Bloody Well Right" is a standout track that opens with a dynamic piano riff and gives an introduction to a perfect lead guitar wah tone. The inclusion of brass and the unique sound of the Wurlitzer piano in the beginning tracks created something interesting to listen to. There's a heavy focus on percussion, bass, brass, and keys, as well as the inclusion of distinct vocals and engaging lyrics. The percussion and bass really complete the tracks and give the album a damn good rhythm.
The sixth track, "Rudy," is one of the longer tracks on the album and, in my opinion, the greatest on the album. I feel that there are no words to describe this track, as it is one hell of a complete experience for someone giving the album a full listen.
The end of the album gave a really great conclusion to the album, with "If Everyone Was Listening" and "Crime of the Century." "If Everyone Was Listening" was a great orchestral track that led into the next masterpiece to gradually end the album, which focused heavily on the instruments to close it off.
This album definitely had significant direction. It is overall a great blend of prog, art, and pop rock. Their use of saxophones, keyboards, strings, and harmonicas adds flavor to the album due to the quality of the production. I feel as if every song on the album is notable, and the length of the entire album is perfect the way it is. Easily a 5/5 as a complete album for me.
The album was overall a 3/5. Nothing stands out, but there's also nothing terribly bad. I probably wouldn't listen to it again.
I'm all for prog rock albums, but in my opinion after my first listen, I feel like this a weaker entry into prog. After listening, I didn't have a desire to listen to it again. I may give it another go soon to see if my opinion changes the 2nd listen, but for now I feel that it is a solid 3/5.
I feel like this isn't an album for me. I listened to it in the background and nothing really stood out to me. The songs feel kinda same-y to me and don't really accomplish anything new with each song. Guitar riffs and solos feel pretty lackluster, and overall the vocals are very draining. Will go for a 2nd listen if necessary. 3/5 for me.
This is a very notable album from the Beatles, with many hits that are easily recognizable, and some that I haven't dedicated enough time to that sound really good as well. It's a very fun album that is nowhere near a chore to listen to. It's short and to the point and many of the songs feature interesting choices in sound and production thanks to George Martin.
Drive My Car starts off the album with a distinct guitar riff and Paul's harsh "hard rock" vocals creates a very catchy track.
Norwegian wood is one I've listened to so much already that I lost interest in it, but it still is a really good song.
You Won't See Me is a track I haven't listened to much and grew on me during this listen. Great vocals from Paul, perfect backing vocals from John and George, and a great groove from Ringo's drumming here.
Think For Yourself is a great track with George taking the lead on vocals and the guitar. Overall a great sound and very notable.
The other few tracks are pretty good but it would take way too long to say how I feel about them all.
Girl is another hidden gem for me, since I haven't listened to it enough. John's vocals are insanely good here. The acoustic guitar in the track is great to hear, and the backing "dit-dit-dit" completes the track.
The next 4 tracks are insanely notable hits with In My Life taking the spot on my most notable.
Run For Your Life is an okay song to end the album. It isn't perfect but it's still something good to listen to.
Most notable songs: Drive My Car, You Won't See Me, Nowhere Man, Think For Yourself, Girl, In My Life, Wait, If I Needed Someone
Notable: Norwegian Wood, What Goes On, Girl, I'm Looking Through You,
Not for me: The Word, Michelle, Run For Your Life
An okay album. I feel like it could have been done better, as most of the songs feel like a drag for a 2 hour album.
Overall this album features really alluring sound effects that add to the vocals and instruments.
Protection: A nice chill track, doesn't feel dragged out and has some really good sounding background effects, vocals, and instrumental track. Great send-off to the track with light rain sfx. Overall a really good start to the album. 5/5
Karmacoma: Really great beat throughout the song, once the chorus starts there's specific whistle/airy/eerie sounds that give atmosphere to the track. 4/5
Three: Nice beat with soft vocals. 4/5
Weather Storm: Includes a chill atmosphere with a very pleasant piano track and a soft beat. 5/5
Spying Glass: I wasn't totally paying attention at the time but I remember it sounding like a 5/5
Better Things: 4/5
Euro Child: Slightly repetitive imo but a good track to listen to. 3/5
Sly: Great soft vocal track with strings appearing from the background occasionally, which enhances the overall atmosphere of the song. Strong beat throughout the song. 5/5
Heat Miser: Amazing repeating piano melody that catches the listener from 0:00-0:40. Breathing sounds and strings instruments dominate the first half of the song. The piano, strings, and bass take priority here, with a hint of synth around 2:07. Definitely my favorite instrumental on album, 5/5.
Light my Fire: My least favorite on the album, still a 3/5.
Dropped album at track 5. The overall sound of the album feels very much all over the place trying to sound like other bands while succeeding at nothing. I couldn't bring myself to listen to any more of the songs after Ambulance. Very repetitive sound and lazy vocals, therefore not innovative at all.
Hearing this in full for the first time, there is quite literally no competition. This is a beautiful and perfect album in its entirety. Easy 5/5
Pretty good sounding album. At times the style of genre changes are odd but the album has an overall nice sound to it.
Not for me, but it wasn't terrible.
I did not expect to like this album as much as I did. I only really gave it a casual listen instead of active listening but I will definitely not hesitate to listen to it in full again. The style of the album is very notable and the instrumental work is insanely good.
Feels like a demo album from some artist that never planned to release it. Kind of all over the place and not an overall great album experience. His guitar playing is really good but something about it just doesn't sit right with me.
An interesting start to Black Sabbath. It's a fun album to listen to, but not as good as others in their discography. The third track on Spotify that mixes Wasp, Behind the Wall of Sleep, Bassically, and N.I.B. is my favorite.
Way too much of a repetitive sound and includes very cheesy lyrics. Not really my cup of tea, as it is very forgettable for me.
I do like the sound of this album but something about it doesn't make it a 4 for me. If i could I would rate it 3.5 stars. It's definitely fun to listen to
An okay album, not really my thing for casual listening. It has an interesting sound to it but I feel like this album is weak overall.
Not terribly awful but not great either. I would be fine if some songs came up through the algorithm, probably wouldn't listen to the full album again as it was pretty forgettable.
Fantastic album with fun tracks to listen to. It never feels like it's too long or even too short, there's just so much fun to be had with the songs and the swing feel that accompanies it. An energetic album with fantastic vocals from both Louis Prima and Keely Smith and the enjoyable instrumentals from Sam Butera & The Witnesses. An easy 5/5 for me.
Pretty good sounding psychedelic rock album but kinda drags in the middle. The audio panning gets kinda annoying but there is a good album there, just with 17 tracks it's a bit much. Very Sgt. Peppers Beatles like and has some good moments as well as some bad. Overall probably a 3.5
Has an interesting overall sound but not many songs stand out.
Good sounding album with some really good tracks but overall feels like its missing something to bring me back to listen to it again.
Really strong album, highly recommended
3.5, really good album at the start but fell off in the 2nd half.
Very good album to listen to. 4/5
The first side of the album is insanely good and memorable, around the 6 and 7 song mark is when it gets kind of stale. The ending however works well. Overall a 3.5
