Black Sabbath
Black SabbathThis is a surprise to me. I though black Sabbath was all hard core rock. There is some swing in here that I was not expecting. The vocals are good too. I will likely listen again! 4/5

Rather eccentric album. It definitely sounds like something that would have been made in the 80s. The main thing that threw me off was the upper octave echo parts throughout most of the tracks. I skipped a few tracks when that started up. Won't listen again. 2/5
I couldnt nearly get through this. Itβs so messy and uninspiring. 2/5 Not a fan
The way the band flows from song to song is really fun. He has such command of the band sound and flow. All songs are classic swing and soul, a real fun listen.
It sounds like this stuff was screaming through radios in the 80s on country roads. A few classics Ive heard before. Very American. Little too repetitive for me though. Many of the songs could use more dynamic back ends.
I am not a fan. Alot of the songs are rather long winded and mostly instrumental. Alot of the background band is really just noise; there are times where I can't hear a melody of any sort. This feels like a halfbaked album that could have been a weird 4-5 track EP. Also don't care for the range the singers hang in most of the time, very shrill.
Coming off of The Who - Tommy album from the 60's... this was a breath of fresh air. Very well produced and balanced. I wouldn't guess this album was from 2003, it really sounds out of its time. I enjoyed the unique nature with intermittent tracks of more modern stuff. I never wanted to skip a track really. Will likely give it another listen in a month or so. This is really a 3.5 but where it comes in the stream of albums it earns a 4
Truly a great album. I was transported to the old west. Marty's command and storytelling of his voice is unmatched. 5/5 album that I will come back to often when I am in the mood for a western.
This is one of my favorite bands from the past. I love thier classic hits but have never sat down and listened to any of thier albums. Alot of thier songs have alot of similar motifs and rythems which is fine by me. I love the sound that they trailblazed and that has been copied in many modern bands. They were truly influencial on a large scale. Love this album 5/5.
This album sounds like a group just hanging out, jamming and having a great time. Great sounding sax as well. It is a very chill listen. I think 4/5 for sure, I will be back if I'm in the mood.
Hip hop is the genre I know least about. I can see how this album was influential to the genre especially coming out so early in the 90s. It's just not for me. 1/5
This is not for me. It's really repeative and uninspiring. This sounds like the music from that era which is my least favorite era of music (late90s-early00s). I won't listen to this album again. 1/5
This album was OK. Itβs not really my cup of tea, but I can understand the influence on other albums of the time I do like some of the rhythms and flow and some of the tracks. It is also a little too vulgar for me. 3/5
I like this album. I didnβt know that Queen was hard rock like this. I always knew them for their major hits that had more of a vocal aspect to it. I will definitely listen to it again. 5/5.
This genre of grunge/noise rock is not enjoyable to me. I think some songs are listenable but majority is more noise than anything. I can listen through it but I would not actively seek it out. 2/5
Not for me. It was all in German and super dark. Not sure how this is in the list. 1/5
It's a pretty interesting sounds coming from the 90s; definitely would not have placed it there. Over all though it's not really my speed. Some of the tracks use some pretty high pitched sounds for the melody and I did not enjoy it. 2/5 I would not seek this out
I know very little about Bowie. He has an interesting sound for the late 70s. It sounds very much like 80s music. Over all it is OK album to me. If I am in the mood for 80s I would listen again. 3/5
The production value is good. The tracks are too explicite for me quite frankly. I likely won't listen again. 2/5
this album is quintessential 70s. It reminds me a lot of the beach boys but not as good. I didnβt love it and I didnβt hate it. 3/5
This is nothing like anything I've heard from the late 90s / early 00s; I would have thought this was more recent. The sampling is really fun and really spans across all genres. The beats are also unique and entertaining. I am also a sucker for seamless track transition; it's like one big stream of consciousness. I will listen again. 4/5
Such an iconic album. Definitely on the top shelf. 5/5
Not for me. I could not finish it. I don't like the sound of the Sitar. I can understand how this was influential to global music being put on the map. I did not finish. 1/5
Pretty groovy album over all. I like steely dans top songs so it was cool to see what other stuff he had. Might listen again. 3/5
This album is quintessential 80s which is not too bad. However, I could not stand his voice. The background instruments were OK. Overall would not seek out again. 2/5
This is my first modern pop album from the list. I remember when this came out and it was a big hit! I am personally a fan of Taylors music going all the way back to her first few albums. Overall solid album. 4/5
Iβm not really a big fan. This is my second album from Beck on this list. I would say itβs better than the shaggy dog album. Overall not too bad I might listen again. 3/5
This is just noise. Did not finish. 1/5
That's a nope from me. 1/5
I enjoyed this album, not as much as thier prev. more popular album Rumores. Thier sound is somewhat different; I will likely come back and check it out again. Still a solid, clean group. 4/5
This was alot of screaming. I understand it probably takes alot of skill to yell like that and alot of 70-80s bands do that; but it was too much for me. 2/5
Over all a well produced album. The genre is not for me. I have a problem with extremly repetitive loops. I won't be listening again for that reason. 2/5
Rather eccentric album. It definitely sounds like something that would have been made in the 80s. The main thing that threw me off was the upper octave echo parts throughout most of the tracks. I skipped a few tracks when that started up. Won't listen again. 2/5
I am not a fan of spoken word singing honestly. Also alot of the lyrics were really troublesome and hard to get through. 1/5 could not finish.
ICONIC. So many hits from this album. Truly one of the GOATs of soul. Will be back 4/5
Make since they toured with Led Zeppelin, they have a similar sound. Over all a fun albulm to listen too; I am a sucker for ballads. I will likely listen again. 4/5
I am not big on Hip Hop but this is extremely listenable. Well produced. I like the sound bites they use throughout. I may revisit this album in the future. 3/5
Dolly is Iconic. I can say I've never listened to this album all the way through before. I will be returning because it gives that feeling of home and comfort. I am not a fan of all country music by any means but this not like alot of country.
Elton is always a great listen. I want to spend more time in his discography. This album also starts with Tiny Dancer, one of the most iconic. I will be back. 4/5
I am sorry I can not stand his voice. Could not finish. 1/5
Truly an iconic sound. I never knew what group some of these tracks came from. Such soul in this group. I'll be back if I am in the mood for soul. 4/5
I can't stand the lead voice. Quintessential 80s mumble singing. 1/5 could not finish.
Over all not bad. I can see how it w as before it's time coming from the 80s; this sounds late 90s early 00s if I had to guess. Though it is well produced its not particularly my favorite genre. I might listen again, 3/5
It's OK. All the beats and volume are relatively monotone. Very 90s. I would not seek out. 2/5
Once again I have an issue with the voice, especially when the lyrics at the end are extremely repetitive! I could not finish 2/5
Wow, got two of his albums back to back. Same issue, could not handle the voice. Could not finish 2/5
This one surprised me. I am always on the look out for great instrumental only albums. This one was good. The drum tracks and repetitiveness were very 90s/00s but it wasn't enough to be off-putting. I will likely listen again when I am reading or working. 4/5
This is extremely listenable. I didn't know how easy it would be to listen to if I don't speak the language. The band ensemble also flows really well; they are laying down some great sounds. I will definitely listen again. 4/5
Overall, this album is pretty OK. Itβs giving a lot of Beatles vibes. I enjoy the instrumentals more than the vocals. I might listen again. 3/5
I mean itβs Jonny Cash. The song writing and vocals are top notch. Even though the recording quality of the instruments arenβt great itβs a special album because itβs at San Quentin Jail. For sure top shelf 5/5
Rage against the machine has a very definitive sound. I like their strong base and lead guitar motifs. I may listen again if in the mood for 00βs. 3/5
This is what I would expect to be playing in the background of a hip hip dance training video. Very of itβs time. Over all not bad production quality. I donβt enjoy repetitive beats very much though. Iβd say 3/5
Did not enjoy, did not finish
I mean it's queen. Such an iconic sound that I am sure they were the first to do. There are some top 100 songs on here but some of the albulm was too experimental for me. I will probably listen again. 4/5
Not a bad Beatles album honestly. I am not the biggest fan by default. I will likely listen again if I'm in the mood for Beatles. 4/5
I understand Metalloca had a cult following and influenced alot of the metal music around that era. I just don't think I am a fan of Metal like this. 3/5 it's OK.
Over all OK album. Nothing to write home about but also not terrible. 3/5
This is a pretty groovy album, I was plesently surprised. Pretty fun listen. I will likely give it another go. 4/5
This is a surprise to me. I though black Sabbath was all hard core rock. There is some swing in here that I was not expecting. The vocals are good too. I will likely listen again! 4/5
I.con.ic voice of the 80s. So many bangers. 5/5
There are some great hits in here! However this is not my favorite Coldplay Album. Still a great and iconic album that put them on the map of pop music. 4/5
I am already a fan of the Black Keys. There recipe is pretty straight forward: deep drum grooves with a solid guitar melody and back up, then a strong lead vocal and throw fuzz on everything. It's all good stuff though. It's not dense where you really have to think about it. They are just providing solid song writing and arranging that you can have going in the back ground. Not top shelf for me but for sure will be back to have another listen. 4/5
Mostly OK. Very reparative which I would have on for background music. 3/5
This is a subset of music I know nothing about. It seems like it would have a group of folks that remember this from their youth back in the day. Over all itβs ok 3/5
I mean itβs Stevie Wonder. Instant classic. 4/5
Truly the GOAT of swing vocals. 10/10
I donβt have the nostalgia for Prince like a lot of people have. Still a very great artist and I enjoyed the album for the most part. 4/5 Will likely listen again
Never heard this type of early alternative music. I think most of the songs are about a min too long. Not a fan of super repetative stuff. It's ok 3/5
I couldnt nearly get through this. Itβs so messy and uninspiring. 2/5 Not a fan
This was an OK album. I had no real draw to it. Over all well produced but not super interested. 3/5
This is really a bunch of noise to me. I donβt really enjoy this type of music. 2/5
CCR! Sound of the 70s! Top shelf 5/5
Truly an inspiration in the jazz realm. I enjoyed listening to this, and Iβll probably be back when Iβm in the mood for some jazz. 4/5
This is just a SOLID rock album, I will return to listen for sure!
The opening sex scene is an immediate skip from me dawg. 1/5 did not finish
Ehh, not my cup of tea. Alot of it was kind of noise with some good beats. Did not care for the large use of falsetto singing. 2/5 won't come back to.
I know Nirvana is an important group in the history of music. However, I think I would have enjoyed this more if I liked Nirvana more. I know this person wasn't the original singer but I can't get past the vocals: very nasal, raspy, and flat. 2/5 I will not be back to listen.
Hm, not sure how this is near the top of the list. I liked a few tracks in the record and they are quite good at making a lot of noise in the middle of the music. But I don't think I will be reaching for this. 3/5 eh
I get it, I am sure they are iconic for 80s/90s straight rock. However, all their songs sound the same! They also have terrible vocals; it works for their big hit but it got old. 2/5 I won't be back, but I did learn some history.
I can see why this is a classic. It has as ALOT of soul. This would fit right along the best of the age, Aretha and others. Overall great production and execution. 3/5 May listen again. For sure adding to my soul playlist.
This is not my cup of tea. Not a fan of constant profanity. Would not seek out
A really solid prog rock album, I liked it. The 20 min opener is a fun twist on how albums are generally created. Vocals are not overly shrill and over bearing. It's balanced really well. 4/5 I will be back
