ColdplaySucked when it came out. Sucks in 2024. Boring mono tone songs with overly nasal vocals. Lyrical content is sad and Grey and boring. Every song uses the same structure. Waste of time to listen to.

Every song sounds the same. no song stood out, same beat same tempo same cadence. this should have been a single not an album. there are some songs that add small different elements but they stand out uncomfortably over the sound of the album. instead of adding a fresh take it creates an awkward unwanted strain on the ear. and that is saying something when the entire album feels monotone and depressed. I cant see this album having an impact but it somehow has. and I dont undertand how
Shorter than I thought with only 6 songs. Great drumming.
fun up beat and all around great mixing. was not what I was expecting but I enjoyed it. just fun punk.
fun album. nothing amazing and no song stood out massively. I did not mind it but I wont go looking for it
album was ok. wont go looking for it again but I did not hate it
Mundane songwriting. honestly nothing of substance was sung about on the album. everything felt like normal everyday things. now nothing against that. but at the time there were so many other songwriters doing something similar, while still adding a bit of substance in between the songs. honestly teh album bored me to tears. every song felt the same. slight variances in tempo and tone but they felt the same.
Creepy sounding, weird dark lyrics. I like it. never heard anything like it before but I have known of the existence of it. over all very slow and not really my style so i wont go back to it but I did not mind it as much as some of the other albums I have listened to
not bad. again not my kind of music but its ok. short album, with rights issues on spotify south africa so I listened illigally and I am not afraid to say it. labels fuck around and artists suffer.
Great album enjoyed it very much.
I have always bene a fan of Frontier Psychiatrist and it has featured on many playlist. but because I discovered the video on MTV back in the day I never did a deep dive on them so this is the first time I get to hear the entire album and i really enjoyed it a lot
Very Chill. did not mind it. wont go looking but i did enjoy it
Pixies meets The Canberries. very enjoyale
Fantastic listen. this has been the album I have enjoyed the most of everything I have listened to. it was a fresh change from everything else that just all blended into each other. this was a fresh new song every time. nothing blended into each other in an endless stream of the same sound on an album as so often happens.
I really enjoyed the Verve here. I am sad that the revenue for bittersweet symphone, that is arguably one of the most iconic songs in my life goes to the Rolling stones because some composer made a song that sounds enough like this that they managed to win a copyright lawsuit. it is part of the reason I refuse to listen to the stones because it is a greedy money grab by them where they put in zero effort and make money. even if the Verve sampled the Symphony version of that song as it is claimed it should not be revenue for the stones it should be for the producer. as for the rest of the album. very enjoyable. captures the point in time it came out very well and hold us all these years later.
Possibly one of the greatest albums ever written. Every song on the album provides something that build up towards Bohemian rhapsody. I belive that song is the greatest song every written and this album just all feeds into it. I absolutely loved this
Fantastic Dark and Gothic sound. I can clearly see how this album bled though into other influences. I really enjoyed it very much
light lounge electronic music. some of it feels very familiar. but I cant quite place it. it was a pleasant listen even if its not something I would normally enjoy.
not as Whininy ans nasal as I remember it. but it is still very whiny and very nasal. i am not at all a fan. but people around me are. and I have never understood why I really tried. I went in trying to fight my bias and be objective. but I failed. I just dont like his voice. but many others do. and that is fine. Personally if I never need to hear Billy Corgon again i will be very happy. the music was great but
fun and upbeat. the music is very chill without sounding boring. I really enjoyed this album
Relaxing. I dont get summer vibes from it. but that is becuase I am from a place where summer feels very different to what it would be like in Europe. I really did enjoy A Minha Menina a lot and wont be upset if it comes around again
Fun to listen to would listen again.
Fun and interesting listen. Really enjoyed it
Enjoyable and feels very familiar. her voice is strong and soulful. I personally wont go looking for it again but I wont mind if it comes on in the background
Seminal and fantastic. the tuning on the guitar to make it work. the use of the tritones to create a sense of malice in the sound. the lyrics having a darker theme. all around fantastic work that changed the world
Fantastic album that I ahve listened to many of the songs from but never the entire album
feels like the Doors. pretty average no weird instruments or key changes, just some nice and relaxing background noise.
nothing wrong wht it but not for me. while the falsetto was impressive, there were moments where it felt like ti was showing off and did not fit into the song. like a guitar solo going on for jsut a little too long some parts of the falsettos were jsut slightly out of place for my liking. but I am not a critit
upbeat music, angry lyrics. clear message to be shared. musically its mediocre by the standard of 2024 but the message remains relevant. the influence and impact can be seen and heard in so much music its too much to name.
interesting listen but I will not be doing it again any time soon
boring and un-inspired. droning vocals nothing special in the songs at all. this straight up does not deserve to be on the list and was a complete waste of my time.
intersting listen and very good ambient noise. I felt like I had a movie on in the background. and to be honest it was good enough that I found my brain wanting to go look for the movie to actually watch the visuals that go with the sound. very fun experience and I feel my life is slightly better for listening to it.
chill background music. unoffensive and relaxing.
Slow, Whiny depressed but very very good.
slow music with a sad sound. happy lyrics sung in a sad way. not for everyone and personally not a fan but i did not mind it.
slow and hard listen. being a double album made it worse. I enjopy some of the songs but as a whole this album as not a good listen.
sadly only had one song available in south africa on spotify and that one song did not impress me enough to try and find a different way to pirate it. the good old men in suits deciding who can listen to what win again.
Enjoyed the music. had a very aggressive industrial feel. and the Growly sound of the lead singer reminded feels more like a late 90's industrial sound than something from the 80's. if someone played this for me and told me it was Til Linderman making a French album produced by Trent Reznor I would believe it.
Absolutely Fantastic Album. holds up all these years later. I have a bias as I havae been a fan of the Offspring since the 90's and I do listen to this album at least once a year. but I listen to this that often because I think it is that good.
I really struggled to listen though this album. droning vocals basic music. great lyrics but it feels very dated as a non American in 2024.
Fantastic album but I do feel like it has 2 songs on it and 90% of the album is either a stupid girl clone or an only happy when it rains clone
Loud, disjointed. aggressive sounds and very hard to listen to if you are not in the mood for a sound that is all over the place. it is still good and things like where is my mind and Gigantic stand out like a lighthouse in a sotrm. over all I was not a fan but I feel like that was more a mood driven thing and on a different day this could have been much more enjoyable.
Musicaly a very goof album. I felt very disconnected from the content as I am not american and I am white from a country where White people are the minority. so the contemnt while powerful and valid in its own context felt very disconnected from my personal experiences. that does not invalidate the struggles at all
Fast Aggressive. loud. angry. its everything you want from Slayer. and if you do not know then this is a great way to get to know them. Angel of death and Raining blood are amazing songs that changed music. the opening riff of raining blood is instantly recognizable. by the standards of deathcore and DEath metal the lyrics are clean.
good album
Weird. chill lounge music. idnt hate it. but I can see why it needed a gimic to se;ll. the music alone would not do it
proto punk so lots of noise, disconnected sounds. not for everyone. personally did not enjoy but I think that could have been more mood related than anything else
fantastic piece of art. Very far removed from what I listened to. not at all a Genre I enjoy but the way the album was put together, the messages in it, the story telling. he managed to draw me in an I enjoyed this so much more than I was expecting to. one of the best albums I have listened to on this journey
mundane hillbilly crap. this was as annoying to listen to as country and western. I want the 39mins I spent listening to this horsecock back.
Seminal piece of art.
I really enjoyued this one
fantastic album. Rob's falsetto's perfectly match the guitar tone and in some songs the contrast really works. the lyrical content managed to stay relevant more than 50 years later without trying to hard. you can not only relate to the issues being discussed but the issues are still around. especially on songs like breaking the law. the song was true in 1979 when it came out. it was true when I left school in the early 2000's and it is true now. the world is run by people about to retire who make choices based on the world they lived in instead of the world as it works now.
Fantastic listen. Brilliant musicality and lyrics that are hard hitting and relivant
Production value is off the charts. Lyrical subject matter is kind of boring and repetitive. basically "I am great and I get a lot of woman to sleep with me" said in a few different ways. musically its hip hop so nothing to write home about. it was very difficuilt to remove the art from the artist in this case.Kanye is a twat that needs to be drawn and quatered publiccally along wiht the rest of the wealthy 1% of the world.
not for me. boring. sad. and monotone
Not bad
Fabulous listen
Background noise at best. Very repetitive. Forgettable and I won't be going back
i grew up wiht this playing on MTV and the singles getting a lot of radio play. this was my first time listening thought the album. and honestly Its not for me. Timberland has a big influence and that cuts though the sugery sweet artificial flavour of the bubblegum pop this album was set up for. but you can feel the tonal change in the album compared to the pop music of a few years earlier. the feel is darker even in more light hearted songs. you can truely feel the change away from the happy pop of N'sync and the backstreet boys or even Britney spears and Cristina Agrilaria that I consider the peers of this album, even though they were before 11/09/2001 that event changed the world around it to a point where it could be felt on this album. more minor keys in the music, less majour keys slower tempo. Over all this album is less happy than you would expect of a pop album and more sober feeling. yes its not for me but taking teh album into acocunt for its time and you can almost see it as leading the charge in pop music to be less bubblegum and more serious.
I can understand the impact and see how many bands took insperation. but I do not like the way the lead singer sings. there is something so whiny about his voice. while this is not something he ever says he feels like someone who is complaning that women dont want nice guys anymore
chilled background noice that was very plesant. not what I was expeciong but a fun listen
Changes is an amazing song and really stood out. The rest of the album was good as well
Nothing special. One beat used for all the songs everything just meshed into one boring drone
everything sounded like come on Ilene. every single song.
Sucked when it came out. Sucks in 2024. Boring mono tone songs with overly nasal vocals. Lyrical content is sad and Grey and boring. Every song uses the same structure. Waste of time to listen to.
Fine background noise but nothing special
decent background music. nothing really stood out. but it was not bad
feels ahead of its time even now. does not feel like it came out in the 70's feels like it was a mid to late 80's sound. I enjoyed it but i will likel not revisit the album again
boring and mundane. not at all worth a listen
just skip it. its so bland and boring. songs are slow and depressing. I was expecting some fun upbeat surf rock instead I got a slow depressed collection of life advice from what felt like sterotypical Youth pastors. WTF is take care of your feet pete?
wasnt bad
Such an important album for it's time
it was fine
loved it
Excellent album
