1984
Van HalenI enjoyed listening to this album while working. Of course "Jump", "Panama", and "Hot For Teacher" are staples from my childhood watching MTV, and I like them, but I hadn't listened to the rest of the album before.

I listen to this album every few months or so. I'm a huge fan already, and this generator doesn't change anything. I adore Chrissie Hinde's voice. My favorite track is "Brass in Pocket" and it's one that I love to loudly sing along with.
When I first so this come up today, I groaned internally. My impression of Frank Sinatra is that I'm too young for this; hilarious, I know. The first track was instantly recognizable, because its been in every other romcom flick, as were others in the album. I recognize how influential this album is, and I didn't mind it, but its definitely not something I would ever choose to listen to.
I get that this was super influential, but its just not for me.
The first half of this album is nearly perfect.
I've heard that this album was heavily influential, and several of the songs hold up well 50+ years later. As an entire album, I don't find it very cohesive. The remaster makes me wish it was recorded better. One particularly bright point was "Bring it on Home" at the end; a track I hadn't heard before but loved.
Black Sabbath has never been a favorite of mine. "War Pigs" is, of course, a masterpiece. I first heard it covered by Faith No More, so that will always be my favorite. I hadn't listened to this album before; there are so many perfect songs.
This isn't my most listened to Oasis album, but that's just because of timing. The songs aren't deep, but there's a trance like aspect to the noise of the band, and what's when they're at their best.
2 stars only because of his energy and great performance. That's all I can give a racist pedophile, and probably murderer, who stole most of his material from Little Richard.
I don't see it. Why is this one of the 1001 greatest albums of all time? I have never heard anything of these before, and they don't seem special in any way.
This is my first one star. I don’t get this album one bit. They songs started sounding all the same and I fast forwarded past them.
It was okay, but not something I'd seek out again. Surprising for a Queen album. "Killer Queen" was the only track that I recognized.
Solid album, with "Born On The Bayou" being a banger.
Solid album, although nothing really stuck out. Definitely not my new favorite band.
The first shock rock super star's most famous album. The titular song is a class. The rest doesn't necessarily hold up well, but I did rather enjoy the "Grande Finale" instrumental.
I liked this album and think I'll be listening to it again. It had a slightly tantric feeling, which is also almost on the edge of boring due to repetition. I'd give it 3.5 stars, but that's not an option. The percussion in Track 5 was particularly enjoyable - I thought my cat was getting into something in the other room at first.
Much better than I expected! Lots of silly skits, which reminds me of rap albums from the 90s.
Timeless tracks. Disappointing that 6 out of 14 tracks aren't available on Spotify. Even with those tracks this is a very short album compared to modern ones.
Wow, this album is amazing. I'm not a fan of this era's music, for Sinatra for the most part, but this album really is perfect.
I mostly remember my sister and her friends listening to this album. Madonna wasn't the icon she is now, but this album was the start of that.
Great album full of songs I’d never heard before.
Definitely my favorite classic punk album. I am not a big fan of punk, unless it leans towards pop, which I recognize isn't good but I still like it. This album embodies everything that is good about punk, and spawned many copy cats. I'm sure purists will point out all of the lesser known bands that the Sex Pistols stole from - never mind that bollocks, the Sex Pistols made this great album that stands the test of time.
I really don't get what's great about this album. Not bad, but utterly forgettable. I've felt that way about east coast hip hop music before, so I guess I'm just not a fan.
Did not enjoy.
Did not enjoy.
What a trippy album. Not really like anything I’ve heard before. I think I liked it.
One of my favorite bands in the 90s, I still go back to this album today.
Very much enjoyed, even if it’s not the sort of music I’d typically listen to.
This is a perfect album that holds so much personal meaning for me.
Definitely a solid album, even if its not my cup of tea.
Love this album. Great background music for focusing on just about anything. No one was really packaging up stuff like this until Eno.
Great album, although its almost like two albums stuck together.
Is there a more perfect pop album? Maybe close, but I don't think so.
This started so well, but then turned into something different that was not great.
One of the best New Jack Swing albums made. A classic!
Nearly perfect. I love the mood listening to this puts me in.
Possibly the best album ever made. Nuff said.
Yet another banger! I remember growing up my mom loved David Bowie but never understood this album. I'm very happy to listen to it as an adult and make up for all of that.
I've always had a fond spot in my heart for this album. Full of great songs and easy to listen to, this album is very good.
An absolute pleasure to listen to. Not what I normally go to, but this lead to a very chill and productive morning at work.
Do not want. This is purely fan service for Pink Floyd fans.
I'm not a huge fan of live albums, but this is just about as iconic as you can get.
I get that this album was extremely influential, but listening to it much later outside of the context of the time it was released doesn't really show that. I did enjoy it, but its not something I would seek out to listen to again.
I can't believe that I've never listened to this album before! Of course, "Golden Years" is a classic hit, but I didn't realize the rest of this was so funky and ahead of its time!! Wonderful
Wonderful background music. Ella Fitzgerald is a gem. I can't say a liked all of the songs. And there are lots of them. Too many.
I know this album is very popular and great background music. This is not the sort of music I ever think about listening to, but it was good.
Some really great songs, although not very many. This feels more like an extended single release. I had no idea that Hooverphonics' 2Wicky was sampled so directly from this.
She's the queen. I enjoyed it, even if this isn't the style I normally turn to.
I guess this album was very influential. I didn't like it.
Another head scratcher for this list. By no means would I say that this album is bad. I had never heard of the Doves, this album, or seen anything to suggest that this album was influential in some way. Why?
What a treat. It still sounds good today; albeit dated, but in a good way. You really can see how this album influenced much of the electronic music in the 80s and possibly into the 90s.
It was okay. I'm not the right person to make the call on how influential it was, or whatever. I'm not sure I really needed to listen to this before I died.
Pretty good album, but mostly held up by a couple of hits.
Reggae is not my jam, so I wouldn't venture to say what's good or bad, but these songs much have been influential because I recognize them.
This album was integral to my college years. I remember listening to it on repeat during my summer internship because I was shredding all day for days at a time. I really do like this album, but does it belong on this list?
I'd never heard of this before. I loved it! Especially track 9 "No Sympathy" I had to listen to it 4 or 5 times in a row. Its been a while since one song stuck in my brain for this long before.
What a great live album!
I'm pretty sure my parents liked this album. I found it to be pleasant. That's all I could come up with.
I had never listened to this album, but I know half of the songs. This is what I'm talking about! This is exactly the type of album that should be on this list. So great.
Not the usual sort of music. I really enjoyed this.
I was surprised to see Sisters of Mercy on here. I have had a lot of goth friends over the years, so while I've never intentionally listened to this album, I've heard most of it before. Very solid album, but not something I'd have expected on this list. Just okay. That is, until I did a bit of randomized listening afterwards and realized just how many goth bands completely copied Eldritch's singing style and the style of the songs on this album. I can see how this was a very influential album.
For some reason I've always felt like Green Day was over-hyped. Perhaps it was influence from friends in the 90s who thought that they were "fake punk" or "sold out" or whatever. I've enjoyed their songs throughout the years. The mainstream success of American Idiot made it something that I avoided checking out. Listening to it today, I was struck by how many of these songs I've heard before. They go well together. I'm not really sure about the story of this concept album, but I enjoy the theme and feeling. This really is a great album.
Just perfect.
Damn good
Pretty good, but nothing I'd say is great. I suppose it was influential because it looked much older than I would have expected based on the style of the music.
I enjoyed it.
Why was this album on the list? I did not find it particularly good. More boring and forgettable.
I was told this was THE first major rock opera concept album. Honestly, I was very busy and did not get a change to listen carefully, but what I heard was great! I will definitely try to listen to this again when I have the time to fully appreciate it.
This album could be nominated solely based on the titular first track. And I'd be okay with that. The rest of the album was solid, if not extraordinary.
I like King Crimson. Usually. I don't get this album.
It was okay, but I don't think it belonged on this list.
