Disintegration
The CureNot my typical cup of tea but not unenjoyable. Some cool stuff going on but overall not a huge fan of the Cure so meh
Not my typical cup of tea but not unenjoyable. Some cool stuff going on but overall not a huge fan of the Cure so meh
It’s not bad just wildly overrated. Enough good songs to be a good album but not close to the best of its genre as some people say it is.
Good album, though i do not think i am the target audience. Not a ton of standalone great songs but still enjoyable.
Hilarious that they took a break in the late 70s, discovered synth in Europe and then dropped this beautiful album. Wanted to give it 5 but back half a tad weak
I like how different the two sides are but they still work together. Love some Ray
The henry fonda guy said “don’t mind the lyric sheets it’s chill” then she didn’t even know the lyrics cmon now
Plain white bread of music
i like crazy horse but neil young is meh. also, i used to think (yesterday) that crazy horse was just a native dude that neil young liked to collab with
i have never really liked any talking heads songs i've heard so this was a pleasant surprise. cool vibe and mostly good songs (song about buildings was ass)
Nothing groundbreaking but they are the best at what the do. And this is their best
It's like they made a full album out of the ending part of A Day in the Life
Drummer can’t drum the bass player can’t play the guitar player has one riff. The singer is this utter buffoon. But this album had it’s moments
Jolliest album cover I’ve ever seen
Some okay songs and cool vocal stuff but not a pleasant listen
I like to imagine someone has used that “it’s your big day” song in their wedding
5 stars for production quality + execution of concept. Not my favourite tracks listed but still great
I’m always shocked that this came out in the 80s. timeless and very solid all around
Too jazzy
Not terrible just a bit repetitive for me
Cool vibes and not something I’d ever listen to normally
never listened to this all the way through. much better all around than i expected. very very relistenable
I don’t think anyone needs to say pussy that much
First three songs were insane but the novelty kinda wore off after that. Still crazy rhythm guitar work
I like when he takes requests. Very fun on the mic and everything sounds great recording wise (except June)
I was going to say “wow Jeff beck sounds a lot like rod stewart.” Lo and behold. You learn something new every day.
there was way more to this than i expected. obviously some straight forward classic country but some cool basslines and stuff like that too
I enjoyed it for the first half a lot but his voice gets a bit grating after that. Guitars are cool
her voice kinda sucks. hate to say it because all the drugs and homelessness that cam before this but im just keeping it 💯. Why'd You Do It was a fitting closer to the album (it sucked)
The first song is so dumb. Very funny band because they brag about not doing drugs or anything and then the next line is like “I will stomp out a pimp”
Didn’t expect to like this but I listened to it while studying so maybe that helped its case. Got kinda bored of it by last few songs but im feeling generous
Didn’t know they sounded like this. Best part of the album: instrumental bits in papa was a rolling stone. Felt like i was in a 70s spy movie. Worst part of the album: 2nd song (i think I am too white to listen to this)
Not a huge fan of his voice but it works. Really liked everything else which surprised me a lil bit. Would be 4 star w more likable voice
Good classic rock. Some parts were a little basic 70s rock to give it really high marks but a good album
Weird but cool vibe I guess. Gives me 30 rock Tracy Morgan vibes
Partially listened to in Barcelona. Maybe the vibes added an extra star
You get the gist of it pretty quickly
I liked this more than anticipated. Wish I hadn’t read dads review about Fred armisen which did ruin it a bit
Reminded me of that paper roses song. Very classic country and very good
I’ve been pleasantly surprised a lot lately. So east coast its almost comical. Lot of different flows and most of the beats are pretty good
Kinda Radiohead-y but minus the interesting musicianship. Way too sad for lawn mowing
Liked the first few songs but it was a bit too much after like 3
This was like Smooth by santana but mixed with linkin park. It was kinda shitty but somehow I liked it
Better than I remember. For no one the best on the album. Also ringo must’ve been on more than acid wtf is yellow submarine
Not as good as i expected. Too many weird fuck songs and not enough pinball
I'm with peytie the Girl is Mine is the greatest song of all time
Nothing crazy going on here but solid enough. Not my genre really so 3 stars
Better than all the other 3 star albums but just fell short of expectations. Consider it a 3.5
Run of the mill CSNY album (not memorable, listenable, sounds like chez 106.1)
Pretty basic whatever this genre is. Not a huge fan
Nothing crazy. Didn’t love some of the weird bits
Thought this was gonna be another album where I think “okay but not my genre.” The first 3 songs on this are insane. Loved it. If it was a bit longer with the same quality it would be 5
Surprisingly good for lawn mowing
Very Tommy-esque (derogatory). Last song was a banger tho
Expected sex pistols part 2. It was not that.
Imagine the backyardigans grew up to be the most annoying women at a family bbq
Today i learned queen is kinda mid. Couple standouts but a lot of meh
Imagine they used their powers for good (hair metal) rather than the forces of evil (prog rock)
Totally acceptable 90s rap album. Some songs were pretty good (lovesick in particular) but a lot of the lyrics were kinda juvenile/sloppy. “[School subjects] have a purpose. Genocide makes me nervous” like what
Dude we heard you the first time
Maxwells silver hammer inexplicably holds a special place in my heart. Whole album is nearly perfect. One of their best
Little bit of everything with this one. Some rock, country, folk, happy stuff, sad ones, and even a little bit of acid. Some of their best stuff
Couple decent upbeat songs but too much depressing bs
First impression: bit of a joe Walsh vibe Second thought: definitely a j geils band typa thing going on Third thought: wait this sounds like steely dan. I think this is steely dan guy. And it was steely dan guy
Only knew the passenger but lots to like on this album. Somehow ahead of its time (in a strokes-y way) and super duper 70s. Big fan.
Way better than expected. Not the typical csny forgettable bs. Some variety and lot of good tunes
First time ever taking time to listen to jack white. A lot more variety than I was expecting. Exceeded expectations a lot.
Was hovering somewhere between 3-4 but I accidentally listened to some of the extended edition I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Better be good to me >>>>
Maybe I’m just feeling really generous today but this was really cool. Enjoyed almost all of it but some parts dragged quite a bit
One of the greatest metal albums ever. Only a few average songs and everything else is masterful. Children of the damned so underrated and hallowed be thy name is maidens magnum opus
Wild horses is sooooooo good but everything else is just ok. Very underwhelmed.
Somewhere between 1-2 stars. Only thing making this cohesive is the annoying ness. Not a fan of the vocals, lyrics, or instrumentation. Particularly confused with the constant alien noises in the background. Not enjoyable.
This did nothing for me. Boring!
Like a folkier Sgt peppers. Thumbs up.
Felt like a cross between Mac Demarco and Orville Peck. Big fan of this album minus the last few songs.
Enjoyed parts. Lot of repetition which at times was a bit grating. Rounding 2.5 to 3 stars (blur may benefit from being directly after super furry animals in my listening order)
Bruce being Bruce. Lot of underplayed bangers on here. Racing in the street my personal fav. *edit* had to edit and upgrade to 5 stars. Been listening non stop for 3 days.
heart of glass is probably one of my favourites of this era. Overall very good album probably somewhere in between 3 and 4 stars
This was fine but it was 22 minutes so not sure what’s going on spotify. Great energy but just gonna go 2 stars since it could’ve been much better.
Didn’t hate this album but also will not be revisiting. Not a fan of the vocals.
Really liked the first song but downhill from there. Until the last few songs which were decent again.
Knew many of the songs but some were surprisingly good and unheard of. Overall haunting and wow his voice sounds incredibly emotional. Tear stained letter underrated
The long songs were all good. The short songs were a bit hit and miss
not bad but definitely worse than the previous smiths. Last song just made me hungry
Not nearly as good as London calling but nothin wrong with it
Disney adult music
This had some good songs but not sure why it’s on the list. Kinda bland and all I could think was “this sounds like a knockoff of ___” Overall not my favourite and no big standouts
Never listened to Solomon Burke but really liked this album. His voice is like a different flavour of sam cooke.
Meh. Not offensively bad but not very enjoyable imo
