I can tell this is a good album by a good band but I just find them annoying.
At least the voice is less gravelly and dumb than in their later releases.
They're quite prone to writing a good song then being like what if we made loads of irritating noises now lol
They just say stuff
Why are you just putting static in my ears for no reason. Fuck off.
I used to pretend to like this more than i did because I didn't want to sound thick. I'm actually enjoying it more than then though.
Few songs in the middle are a bit of a slog.
Kind of hard work at times but very good. Shame Thom Yorke's a zionist freak
Why do people put baby crying noises on their songs? It's wank.
A lot of this is just them saying their names. Stop introducing each other.
This album is cool and I can see why people like it but at times it's either boring or annoying.
I get why this is good and why people like it but to me it's grating. Even the songs I like on it are vaguely annoying.
Very cool, stylish, timeless.
A little bit samey at times though.
Good one to throw on in the background at some sort of dinner/wine party if you want people to think you're civilised
A bit repetitive. Needs some actual bangers that stand out
First song is pissing me off. It's ass.
Don't like any of this. I like some of his older stuff but this just sounds like an annoying old man trying to be David Bowie.
It's so whiney.
Every song is really annoying and it's embarrassing for an old man to be going round like "ooooohhh I'm David Bowie"
That was ass
She's good but a lot of this is very forgettable.
I'm listening to it and get the sense she's capable of better.
Needs a couple more bangers. I thought we'd got on to another banger but Spotify has moved onto a different album lol
Pretty mid. Outside of a couple decent songs it just feels like pure filler.
This sucks.
Lots of wailing, not much substance.
It's fine. Not very memorable.
Dragging on a bit now.
Nah it's ass
I love this band but not sure why they chose this album. Think a couple of their later albums are more polished and have more standout songs
If I put aside my feelings about the band and their fans, it's really good.
Doesn't feel that ground breaking when you listen to it now but hearing it for the first time will have been sick.
Isn't special enough for 5 stars but it's a great album.
A couple of songs are pretty ass so far. Based on the first song i thought I'd hate it, and I feel like I should hate it but for some reason I don't.
It feels like a band Jeremy and Super Hans would be in.
Might have caught me on a good day but I didn't mind this
Found the first song quite annoying.
I hope the second song is bett- oh right he's being massive nonce now, nice.
Feels quite soulless to me. The vocals are weak.
He's doing 70s voice and quite badly.
I didn't realise this song is The Passenger or that it's by him - i don't like it lol
This feels like 70s slop in the same way when I was growing up loads of bands copied The Libertines and then later Arctic Monkeys except somehow this has endured. It's shit.
Lol I truly am finding this completely insufferable.
Turn Blue is genuinely one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I can't wait to 1 star this shite
Class so far. 3 of the first 5 songs are fairly iconic.
Not life changing but very good. Not doing enough for 5 stars but super solid album.
This is ass. Not offensively bad, just ass.
Don't know if this was considered ground breaking but it's ass
Some songs are merely fairly ass rather than straight ass but I can't think of a set of circumstances in which I would ever listen to this again
I know some people love this band but I find them very bland and the guys voice is nails on a chalkboard to me.
I don't think they're a bad band but i find them painful to listen to.
This isn't terrible but it is incredibly bland, generic, uninspiring.
I just listened to it and can't remember a single song. It all just blends into one yawnfest.
This will be quite a generous two stars.
Starts and ends strongly but there's some weak songs in the middle.
3 stars with a couple of songs i really like.
Some great songs again the beginning but then faded into background noise for me.
Could see myself liking it more on a second listen but don't feel overly compelled to give it one
Thought it was okay but not sure what makes it so special.
Another one that might improve with another listen but I don't actually want to listen to it again
I would say I like REM but struggle to listen to a full album of theirs. This has a strong start and finish but a lot of shit in the middle.
A good 3 I would say
This is dogshit. Incredibly bland and mildly annoying.
Not sure i can bring myself to fini.
sh it
This is fairly ass but not as ass as I expected having been forced to listen to an Iggy Pop album.
Still ass though
Some okay songs but not sure why they picked this album.
Turning this band off after an extended listen feels like turning the extractor fan off.
This is boring.
Fucking hell it just keeps going. It might be talking itself into 1 star.
Picked up a bit at the end but still ass.
This list has a habit of taking great artists and choosing their worst albums
Good band. Decent album but not their best work.
Like this way more than I thought i would
Pretty shit. Whoever wrote this book is fascinated with including bad albums by decent artists
Pretty good. High points are high, but some of it is mid.
This is so insanely annoying to listen to. I can't believe anyone genuinely likes this.
It feels incredibly self indulgent
Meh. Didn't capture my attention back then or now. Mediocre outside of a couple catchy songs
It's a brilliant album that I would recommend to anyone. Not quite special enough for 5 stars for me personally but close.
Surprised by the number of thickos who dislike this.
Feels like a really good album that just doesn't quite click with me. Might re-listen at some point
Bowie has some great songs but I don't know if he has a single album I actually enjoy listening to straight through.
They always feel self indulgent and are often quite annoying.
This sounds like the song Jez tries to write for Honda. "What we need to do is create a powerful sense of dread"
