American Idiot by Green Day
Oct 22 2025

Fast American punk done well a little poppy but all good and a great band live Love the title track which has very relevant lyrics 20 years before trump 7 out of 10

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Oct 23 2025

Very chilled and easy listen perfect with the newspaper and coffee on a Sunday morning . Issac has a very smooth and soft voice which feels like velvet , enjoyed the album very much and is a departure from my usual listening habits.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Oct 24 2025

Very chilled and easy listen perfect with the newspaper and coffee on a Sunday morning . Issac has a very smooth and soft voice which feels like velvet , enjoyed the album very much and is a departure from my usual listening habits.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Oct 25 2025

Didn’t really enjoy this album , primarily due to the poor production, even allowing for the fact that it was made in 1969 and the number of songs which had no structure and appeared to a product of a jam session . Appreciate their input to the soul genre and have done some very definitive songs but this does not drag the album past two stars

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Oct 26 2025

Not sure what to say , genre not my thing but can recognise that the band are probably good at what they do and the record was well produced and balanced .

Imagine by John Lennon
Oct 27 2025

It’s hard to like this album as I always thought the Beatles were an overrated band , however I had to force myself to listen to it . I recognised quite a few of the songs and can understand why they are given the credence attached to them and also appreciate the strength of the lyrics , but unfortunately they do not instilled a joy in me and encourage me to immerse myself . Therefore it is an unfortunate low score

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Oct 28 2025

Never heard of this artist and was pleasantly surprised , a very nice blend of soft female vocals and some very quirky songs which is enjoyed a lot . As the album progressed I engaged with it more and more and will as a result listen to more of her content

Kenya by Machito
Oct 29 2025

Would not normally listen to listen genre of music but enjoyed its energy and challenge of not dancing a badly choreographed salsa to it ? Perfect for a Sunday morning reading the papers and drinking coffee and eating a hearty brunch

Calenture by The Triffids
Oct 30 2025

Not overly impressed , very formulaic in terms of the songs , nothing out of the ordinary and could name a number of post punk bands who have done this better and stood the test of time . Professional production but very forgettable

Oct 31 2025

This is the easiest review so far as I already have this album and love it. Devo have their own style within the electronica genre , I played this loud and was dancing round the kitchen to most songs and such fun to listen to

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Nov 01 2025

Nice collection of blues and rock , well constructed songs which are very relaxing and lightly enjoyable

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Nov 02 2025

I enjoy reggae in small doses , so wasn’t really looking forward to this album , I know of Peter Tosh but not to listen to . I thoroughly enjoyed it as it was more mellow than most in this genre with the softer bass lines and his very silky voice

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Nov 03 2025

Had no expressions of this album , but was pleasantly surprised with the great voice Marianne has and the quality of the songs . Which were both edgy and melodic in equal measure

Bossanova by Pixies
Nov 04 2025

Obviously Pixies are an iconic band but somehow they passed me by , it is why I enjoyed listening to this album and rated it highly , the vocals were fab mainly because they reminded me a bit of Marcie Smith. The structure of the songs were great and the album raced by and could not wait until the the next track

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Nov 05 2025

I had only heard the major singles and was not really looking forward to it as I don’t enjoy the songs , mr Blue sky,etc for me to much use of electronic voicing and don’t like the composition, however I can appreciate the structure of the songs we’re and musicianship but not for me and won’t listen again

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Nov 06 2025

No need to listen to this album as I have done so a hundred times before , seen the bunny men live a few times and this is their best album by someways. This album is in my top ten of all albums

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Nov 07 2025

Love the cardigans and this album is fantastic but I think the better album is Gran tourismo ,

War by U2
Nov 08 2025

I have a mixed relationship with U2 , loved this album and Boy and enjoy the early stuff more , however seen then twice first in 1981 (Sheffield) Lyceum ) but went to see the support band ( comsat angels ) but didn’t play , saw again at Glastonbury and wanted to dislike but they were amazing . Great album , that works and is great post punk rock

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Nov 09 2025

I was hesitant to listen to this album but gave it a go due to my aversion to country music . This proved to be the case and have to admit to fast forwarding a lot of the tracks as there was nothing ground breakin* in this album and is a johhny cash rip off , or maybe the other way round ? Either way nit for me

Larks' Tongues In Aspic by King Crimson
Nov 10 2025

King Crimson are an iconic band but have never listened to them , I loved the blend of prog rock and psychedelic undertones , very experimental for the time , haunting vocals and so well put together , very surprised at how much I enjoyed the album as a hole , even if at times it did lose some mommentum

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Nov 12 2025

Surprised at how songs I recognised on this album , and Alanis has a very distinctive sound , which is not necessarily to my taste as it’s a bit warily I can see why it made the 1001 list though as it’s well put together

Pump by Aerosmith
Nov 13 2025

Classic rock , well made and produced , enjoyed immensely and was much better than I had anticipated

Queen Of Denmark by John Grant
Nov 14 2025

Had no expectation of this album as never heard of the artist and was very pleased with the listen . Big lover of electronic music and this album pushed the boundaries with some cool songs .

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Nov 15 2025

Classic blues done by the master , Simple as that , the songs just flowed and sat so nicely in the air the time went and you relaxed and immersed in the quality of the sounds

Water From An Ancient Well by Abdullah Ibrahim
Nov 16 2025

Nice chilled jazz , well put together and love the structure and pace of the music , proper music for a nice chilled Sunday morning reading the papers and drinking coffee

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Nov 17 2025

No brained had only listened to this album last week , as I love it , so controversial and one of the best music videos of all time with two tribes . In my top 10 albums

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Nov 18 2025

Classic soul album by one of the best , has Mrs Fitz favourite song on there top album

Nov 19 2025

Never heard war before , enjoyed the track , well produced and another great soul album and would listen again

Fragile by Yes
Nov 20 2025

Nothing against prog rock but this was a step to far , appreciate the musicianship but tried to combine too much with this album and as a result found it too unconnected , didn’t flow

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Nov 21 2025

Hated the voice and the songs , just properly grated on me

Ramones by Ramones
Nov 22 2025

Love my punk and The Ramones are one of the originals and only a few American punk banks make the cut ,the DKs being the best of the bunch. This is fast pace and does what I says on the tin and was iconic at the time

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Nov 25 2025

Really enjoyed the blues and hip hop collaboration and the album was really chilled , much better than anticipated

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Nov 26 2025

Nice and chilled and lovely lead vocals , perfect for chilling on a rainy afternoon , loved the melodies and the album flowed really well

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Nov 27 2025

Classic blues which formed the basis for some fabulous rock and roll over the years and original songs , however this album in my opinion is not their best work and any number of their albums should have been picked over this one

1984 by Van Halen
Nov 29 2025
Slipknot by Slipknot
Nov 30 2025

Wow proper shouty , metal , and have to admit didn’t like it a whole lot , however I have seen this band at Leeds and enjoyed the experience as it was full on mosh pit and I was slightly drunk a theme which will emerge through these reviews

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
Dec 09 2025

I enjoyed this more than I anticipated and was a really easy listen and loved the harmonies and chilled guitar riffs great album

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Dec 10 2025

Never listened much to Radiohead previously and always was a bit sniffy about them , however I quite enjoyed this album and May therefore give others a listen . Despite not loving the vocals , a good arrangement of songs which showed a lot of talent and a few songs which I really enjoyed

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Dec 11 2025

I have love the singles form this album for sometime but have never listened to the whole album all the way through , wow what top rock and roll , metal what ever top tunes all the way through and lennys gravelly voice just adds to the chaos which is this album First one I have reviewed which warrants going out and buying and adding to my collection

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Dec 12 2025

Classic soul from the master awesome vocals on this man

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Dec 13 2025

Obviously very talented piano play to the untrained ear , and is fine in the background whilst reading the Sunday papers and drinking coffee , hard for me to engage with

Dec 14 2025

Love this album and the message is such an iconic rap love , literally a master of his craft

Third by Portishead
Dec 15 2025

Great band and great album but not there best in my opionion and preferred their more earlier stuff

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Dec 16 2025

Dec 17 2025

Classic disco tracks done by the master of funk Niall Rodger’s top album which gets everyone dancing

Station To Station by David Bowie
Dec 18 2025

Absolute legend , great early album with a favourite of my DB in golden years , wow what a voice this man has

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Dec 19 2025

It is a fun album , not a fan of country music but can appreciate the quality of mr Cash’s voice but not for me I’m afraid

Musically this album is not fantastic but it is absolutely ground break8ng in breaking into the punk genre and setting the standard for all the British punk to follow , in my top 10 albums ever

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Dec 21 2025

Great album even though not a Massive hip hop fan , however grea5 album which brought this genre more into the main stream , very listenable and good to dance to

Suicide by Suicide

Medúlla by Björk
Feb 20 2026
