Almost perfect but I'm taking one star off because of "Jamaica Jerk-Off". Like why did he do that.

So Jeff Mangum really just listened to this and decided "This is what I want to base my entire musical career on".

There's a million other classic rock bands who either play harder or with more virtuosity, so why not listen to them instead?

The instrumentals in the back half were the best because you don't have to listen to that wimpy guy's voice.

Sure, they've only got one song, but it's a really good one. Tighter and more energetic than a lot of the "classic" hard rock records on this list. Even still, ten tracks and 42 minutes is approaching the upper limit of how much AC/DC one can take in a single sitting, kind of like eating a meal that's nothing but chocolate cake.

If a TV show or movie in the 90s had a scene set in a punk bar or club, the music would sound basically like this. Not necessarily a bad thing!

Albums like this are why this list and this site are important. I never would've thought to listen to Senegalese music beforehand, and even if it wasn't totally for me, my view has been expanded that much more.

Normally I'd try to appreciate this on its own merits and file it under "just not my thing" but the lyrics for songs like "What I Don't Know" and "I Sang Dixie" kind of bring it down. Also the super-clean 80s production doesn't work for this kind of music imo.
