1001 Albums Summary

If you've only heard of this album's reputation as a "political" album, you might assume it's angry and confrontational. But in reality, it's disarmingly earnest and sad, and no less political for it. In the hands of a lesser artist, these songs would come off as corny and insincere, especially "Save the Children". But Marvin believes every word he's singing, conveying the confusion and desperation of someone who really does want to know what's going on.
