3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Sep 25 2024

Arguably high 3s, but mostly liked the songs. Album itself is too long though (with slightly different versions of the same songs and some interview clips). Would try other songs by them

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Sep 26 2024

Another where the live-ness makes an actual impact

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Sep 28 2024

Maybe like 3.3. Not really my thing, but enjoyed more than expected -- could be right if looking for offbeat angst. Would listen to more by them

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Oct 01 2024

kind of fun, kind of annoying

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Oct 02 2024

Very chill, would def listen to more by him

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Oct 03 2024

Very fun, enjoyed a lot

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Dec 04 2025

3.7ish? Considered a 4, but not sure how much I'd actually listen to this (and I'm being harsher with ratings these days...)

Faith by George Michael
Dec 05 2025

Mostly enjoyed more than expected, some are a bit slow but overall fun

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Dec 06 2025

For some reason not what I was expecting, but they're v chill, weird quiet stuff with gentle acoustic guitar, etc. Rating lower just because 1 v long song was actively unpleasant to listen to (The Murder Mystery), but otherwise enjoyed if in the mood for that vibe

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Dec 07 2025

Bit discordant but in kind of fun way, dive bar vibes

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Dec 08 2025

3-3.5 Fine, but a bit slow and repetitive. Admittedly, didn’t closely listen to the lyrics

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Dec 09 2025

Enjoyed it but wasn’t my fave

Fromohio by fIREHOSE
Dec 10 2025

3.5-maybe 4. It was fine, maybe would enjoy more on re-listen

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Dec 11 2025

Weird but cool, I quite enjoyed. Would def listen to more

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Dec 12 2025

The vocal parts got too weird for me, but I enjoyed other parts. I'd listen to other stuff by them

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Dec 13 2025

Very chill and pleasant

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Dec 14 2025

I didn't like every track, but enjoyed overall. Would listen to more by them, curious about later stuff.

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Dec 15 2025

so far only first 20 mins... not my thing, I think. Open to revisiting to see if I like it more sometime in the future, though.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Dec 17 2025

Not unpleasant, but slower/sadder vibes than I prefer

Green by R.E.M.
Dec 18 2025

I like REM, but I actually didn't think these particular songs were fantastic. Maybe a harsh rating...

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Dec 19 2025

Some fun stuff, but meh

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Dec 20 2025

Fun, maybe 4.5+? Good music to do something productive to. Would listen to more

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Dec 22 2025

Maybe more 3.5, but rounding up. Some fun, but not sure how often I’d be choosing it in practice

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Dec 23 2025

More chill and less metal than had expected, but enjoyed. Would listen to more

Tical by Method Man
Dec 24 2025

Maybe high 3s, but need to listen again with more attention to lyrics for definitive

The White Room by The KLF
Dec 25 2025

Weird but fun, listen to more by them

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Dec 27 2025

I think I had gotten him confused with Elton John, who (as of 4/4/26, maybe for no reason) I thought I would find annoying... but turns out I enjoy Billy's stuff!

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Dec 28 2025

Not my usual vibe, but pleasant listening

Jan 05 2026

Prob 3.5? I don't especially love live albums and they're not what I generally listen to, but better than expected

Forever Changes by Love
Jan 07 2026

Parts chill and enjoyable, others boring. Would try more if ever in the mood for slow, slightly psychedelic... but that's rarely my top choice

The Man Who by Travis
Jan 09 2026

Bit samey, but some enjoyably melancholy vibes

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jan 11 2026

Parts of it were sort of fun and I'd try more by them, but overall a bit meh

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jan 12 2026

A lot of fun: upbeat, chill, mostly instrumental

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Jan 13 2026

Mostly pretty boring, generic pop-rock

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Jan 14 2026

Considered a 4, but probably a bit too slow/downer to really want to listen to. But did like it if ok with downer vibes, chill/slow and she has a nice voice, and worth trying again and listening more closely to lyrics

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Jan 15 2026

Maybe high 3s (3.5-3.8?), liked parts but overall slower than I usually go for. Chill though

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jan 17 2026

Fun! Would listen to more by him

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jan 18 2026

Had heard most of these, but I enjoy 'em

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Jan 19 2026

Not usually my fave kind of thing but actually quite enjoyed, and thought the live recording added to it

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jan 20 2026

I already knew I liked them, but still a fun album. On the more folky side of their stuff (twangy guitar, harmonica, etc), fun

New Forms by Roni Size
Jan 21 2026

Considered a 4 because I enjoyed parts and think in the right mood I'd enjoy more, or possibly just other stuff by them, but parts of the album were not very enjoyable so I'm rating more harshly

Traffic by Traffic
Jan 22 2026

4.5? Considered a 5. I liked the slight psychedelic + rock vibe, mostly fun songs.

Entertainment by Gang Of Four
Feb 02 2026

I'd listen to the first half of the album again, but increasingly throughout it's more mixed-pleasantness instrumentals. Punk vibes in ways both fun and meh

Diamond Life by Sade
Feb 03 2026

Smooth jazzy pop, pleasant singing over elevator music but in a good way. I enjoyed it

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Feb 04 2026

It was fine, but found it a bit boring. Not bad though, could be good maybe when in the mood.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Feb 05 2026

Weird but cool. Should definitely listen to again + other stuff by him. Hip hop-inflected instrumental stuff, with electronica flavor and some strange shit -- sort of meow wolf vibes

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Feb 07 2026

Nice and chill, some were slightly annoying but overall enjoyed

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Feb 08 2026

Need to re-listen to, but enjoyed

Feb 09 2026

A few of the songs were fun, and a few were boring (especially 2 bonus tracks). Prob a 3.5-.75 depending on which I focus on

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Feb 10 2026

High 4s -- not my fave of theirs, but a lot of it is fun (and it's more funky vibes then other stuff, so if in mood for that it's a better choice)

Odessa by Bee Gees
Feb 11 2026

I'd try them again, but need to be in the mood for Weird British Shit™

Moving Pictures by Rush
Feb 15 2026

Thought they were fun! It's a lot of instrumental guitar solos and such, but fun chill vibe

Movies by Holger Czukay
Feb 16 2026

Maybe more like 3.5-7, because parts were more eh. But overall chill, would be willing to try more

Metallica by Metallica
Feb 18 2026

Maybe 4.5? Enjoyed, but felt a bit same-y by the end. Would listen to more by them, though

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Feb 19 2026

It’s Sinatra, you know what you’re getting! These maybe lean slower than some of his other stuff, though?

Eagles by Eagles
Feb 20 2026

Some fun songs, would listen to more by them

Feb 21 2026

This could be a 3 depending on the song... there were some fun ones, but a lot of them kind of drag and started sounding very repetetive.

Feb 25 2026

I enjoyed the 1st half, 2nd half got too boring (unless specifically looking for that vibe)

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Feb 26 2026

Maybe 3.5-4, but overall fine. Enjoyed at first but was a bit boring and repetitive by the end

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Feb 27 2026

Maybe like 4.5, not necessarily what I'd usually listen to but did enjoy it

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Feb 28 2026

Maybe 4.5+, depending on mood -- fun, enjoyed and would do more by them

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Apr 18 2026

Almost 5, but then the last few got too weird. High 4s though, bunch of bangers

GREY Area by Little Simz
Apr 20 2026

4.something, would listen to more by her

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Apr 21 2026

Prob 4.4ish, only because a few of them were a bit slow. Overall good stuff

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Apr 22 2026

Enjoyed them, maybe like 4.5? Again, much more chill than I assumed they'd be

Black Metal by Venom
Apr 23 2026

Grating, harsh and unpleasant... and yet the over-the-topness is pretty entertaining

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Apr 24 2026

Really 3.something I think, it's perfectly pleasant but not really my thing

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Apr 27 2026

Fun mix of old style and modern content

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Apr 28 2026

Fine for what it is... but what it is is same-y indie mope with a pretentious affect, didn't hate it as much as that sounds like, but I don't know when I'd choose it over something else

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Apr 29 2026

Fun short songs, but they kind of start to blend together

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Apr 30 2026

Maybe like 3.5, not bad but didn’t really stand out

Achtung Baby by U2
May 01 2026

4.something, fun mix of happy and melancholy

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
May 16 2026

As I recall the last Talking Heads album was meh, even though I’ve heard and liked them before… and this was what I’d been hoping for from that one. Putting aside the unnecessary Outtake additions at the end and a bit of weirdness, quite enjoyed!

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
May 19 2026

Enjoyed some, don’t know that I’d choose it over other Beatles-ish stuff

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
Jun 25 2026

Some of them were fine, some actively irritating. I’m not sure why I’d choose them over the Beatles, the ones I liked most were the most Beatles-ish

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Jun 26 2026

Fun upper songs, would listen to more by them. 4.3ish

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Aug 07 2026

A bit too experimental/pretentious to fully enjoy, with lots of slow weird shit, but parts of it were legitimately fun. Parts of Pt 4 sound very much like parts of the Stellaris soundtrack (if it were instead a 70s electronic album called Oxygène)
