Highway to Hell by AC/DC

I couldn’t finish this one. I have heard enough AC/DC to know that it is not for me. Every song sounds the same and I feel like I heard the whole album after listening to the first two tracks.

Abraxas by Santana
Jan 12 2026

Nice vibey album. Already familiar with the hits. Nice to see the wider context. Makes me forgive him for Smooth but only slightly.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Jan 13 2026

Really nice. Not my usual style but I really enjoyed it.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jan 14 2026

This is a great album. I have already listened to it plenty. It was nice to have an excuse to put it on again though.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Jan 15 2026

I thought this album was very good and I was happy to have listened to it. Not something I would often put on, but I’m happy I have been reminded of Ray Charles’s music.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jan 16 2026
She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Jan 19 2026

Great hits plus some stinkers. I can see why it’s memorable.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Jan 26 2026

I couldn’t finish this one. I have heard enough AC/DC to know that it is not for me. Every song sounds the same and I feel like I heard the whole album after listening to the first two tracks.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Jan 28 2026

I can see why this album appeals to some people, but it’s definitely not my style. It’s very much music for the radio.

Remedy by Basement Jaxx
Jan 30 2026
Smash by The Offspring
Feb 02 2026
Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Feb 09 2026

One of my favourite all-time albums. It was really nice to have an excuse to listen to it again after many years away.

Purple Rain by Prince
Feb 10 2026

I still don’t quite know how this artist is as popular as he is. He’s clearly very talented but this music doesn’t stir anything in me.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Feb 12 2026

Classic album from my childhood. I remember loving it. I don’t think I will listen to it often on purpose but it’s fun nostalgia.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 17 2026
Superunknown by Soundgarden
Feb 27 2026

This is one of the first albums I bought as a teenager, and it was surprising how good the album was from front to back, definitely not an album that relied solely on its singles, even though the singles were very strong

Play by Moby
Mar 02 2026

This is fine. It’s super bland and the sort of thing I would not hate if forced to listen to it in a waiting room for a doctors office or something, but never would I choose this to entertain me.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 03 2026
Brothers by The Black Keys
Mar 11 2026
Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Mar 16 2026

I was surprised by how much I liked this album. This was a lot of fun and also extremely technical. I’m very impressed. I guess it goes to that saying that this was my first time sitting down to listen to iron maiden on purpose

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Mar 17 2026

Out of all the The White Stripes albums to include, this one is probably the weakest that I have listened to. I think they’re a great band and they have a phenomenal catalog, most/all of their best songs were made before this album.

Who's Next by The Who
Mar 18 2026

I completely understand why this is considered a an important rock album. I would never put this on as I have heard most of this ad nauseam on rock radio for my whole life. I kind of wish I could have come across music like this and similar by choice or curiosity as opposed to it playing on the radio everywhere. It sucks that a whole era of important music is background music for grocery shopping and waiting on takeout orders in my mind.

The Undertones by The Undertones
Mar 19 2026

I really really like this album. This is exactly the sort of thing. I was hoping to find when taking on this.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Mar 21 2026
Hotel California by Eagles
Mar 23 2026

Bleh. The best way I could think to describe this was music that is perfectly fit for daytime radio. Seems like great music to slow dance to on your backyard patio while white wine drunk with a gross sunburn. I understand it’s popularity but it’s not for appeal.

Document by R.E.M.
Mar 24 2026

This is a great album. It’s hard for me to appreciate how impactful it was because I started listening to music in the post R.E.M. era so there was a lot of great stuff owed to their innovation.

Damaged by Black Flag
Mar 29 2026

I’m sure this is great for the right type of listener, but judging it just based on how I liked to listen to it and nothing about its importance to music. This album was not for me.

Odessa by Bee Gees
Mar 30 2026
Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Mar 31 2026

I’ll be honest I didn’t listen to all 8 discs of the edition that’s on Apple Music. This seemed like well put together rock music, it’s not really my speed but I can see why people like this.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Apr 03 2026

Not for me. Vaguely better than the eagles but not by much.
