Popular Reviews

An interesting reflection on that period of time. I found it really fascinating how a deep message of the album was about the racism in America and police brutality and really took a firm stance towards equality yet in the same vein was so so deeply misogynistic- I guess again of that time but the level of misogyny meant I couldn’t enjoy this album at all or any of the songs really. Would never put this on or listen to it again. It was a really hard one to finish.

Doolittle by Pixies

I didn’t hate this as much as I initially thought that I would… That being said I would never listen to this again I still strongly disliked it

Dookie by Green Day
Mar 23 2026
Smash by The Offspring

Graceland by Paul Simon
Mar 30 2026

Some real classics and overall like how this album switched up the sound quite a bit but kept the vibes high - big fan

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Mar 31 2026

Too heavy for me - a couple of fab intros that got me fired up (paranoid, iron man) - otherwise I found myself zoning out a lot with all the noise

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Apr 01 2026

Enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would… Second half was much better than the first with some fun songs. Overall songs were good but maybe a bit long and repetitive individually

Apr 02 2026

Overall decent vibes - a bit boring at times. First song and last song were the best and fell a bit flat after that

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Apr 03 2026

Cannot fault bittersweet symphony- absolutely timeless. Fell pretty flat after that for me

Harvest by Neil Young
Apr 06 2026

enjoyed for the most part - a couple of standouts - some bits felt redundant/same-y but overall decent album for me

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Apr 08 2026

Just fab - great sound/songs/vocals - a real classic

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Apr 09 2026

Did not like this at all - but enjoyed the use of cowbells. How far was a song I enjoyed but that was literally it out of the whole thing

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Apr 13 2026

Respect the art but Michael Jackson is not really for me. Do love Billie Jean though!

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Apr 14 2026

Some good songs some that felt a bit long and noisy

Django Django by Django Django
Apr 15 2026

Really enjoyed this one!

Apr 16 2026

The main singer had a unique voice but I thought every song sounded the same - not my favourite Just a quick gripe that this album is included but not let go by avril lavigne????????? Not sure about that

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Apr 17 2026

A bit long and a bit heavy for me but I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Apr 20 2026

This was so painfully boring. Not for me at all

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Apr 21 2026

Shockingly I managed to listen to this full album and I really enjoyed it. No album should be this long though. I’d rate it higher if it was shorter to be honest.

Vulnicura by Björk
Apr 22 2026

Interesting and different but not really my fave

Apr 23 2026

Love OutKast and this album contributed to such a unique sound and trends in the 00s. Some fab songs but felt there could’ve been some fat trimmed from both discs to really elevate it

Blur by Blur
Apr 24 2026

Started off okay but got a bit redundant so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I might at the beginning

Apr 27 2026

Disregarding today’s Kanye this is one of the greatest albums of all time. No skips, all songs have a fresh sound. I would listen to this anytime

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 28 2026

I just don’t really get it with Bruce Springsteen but go off I guess

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Apr 29 2026

Really liked this one. The first song will never not remind me of the movie robots. Thought the sound and instrumentals were nice and fresh - pleasantly surprised! Would rate it higher but there were a few too many filler songs

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Apr 30 2026

Found myself quite bored with this one

School's Out by Alice Cooper
May 01 2026

I surprised myself by actually loving this album. I loved the through line and the elements of rock, pop and jazz. So much fun. I would say for me it’s more of a 4.5 but I enjoyed it more than most of my other 4 star albums so bumping it up. Really loved!!!

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
May 04 2026

A lot more fun than I was anticipating! Even had my dog dancing in the kitchen

Machine Head by Deep Purple
May 05 2026

Not offended by this album or anything but wouldn’t listen to it again

May 06 2026

May 07 2026

Lots of fun and very different - I imagine this album is nostalgic if you grew up in Britain in the noughties! Enjoyed the listen

May 08 2026

Fine but a bit boring. Didn’t think this album was something very special.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
May 11 2026

This is for sure one of my faves of all time time. It’s definitely upheld by some of the bangers like Lodi dodi but I mostly enjoyed. For me the album is between a 4 and a 5 but closer to the ones I voted 5 previously so gets a push up!

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
May 12 2026

Mehhh. Nostalgic of that noughties not sound but I find this sort of music a bit redundant and whiny.. it was just an okay listen for me

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
May 13 2026

In theory I should love this album. I mean Xtina has one of the best voices of our generation and there’s some absolute classics in here but I’m clouded by the fact that this whole album feels quite inauthentic. P!nks album Mizundazstood (which I don’t think is on this list? BIG MISTAKE. HUGE.) literally ran so this album could walk. P!nk convinced Linda Perry from 4 non blondes to come out of writing retirement to help her write Mizundazstood as a fresh and more authentic sound than what a lot of the pop girlies were getting pitched at that time (think peak Britney Spears) and Mizundazstood was amazing and ground breaking - so much so Xtina asked Linda to write stripped for her to have the same perceived authenticity and relatability. Because I’m overwhelmingly a P!nk girly this loses major points because it’s hard not to see it as a less good replication

Sea Change by Beck
May 14 2026

I absolutely love beck. So chill and his sound is quite unique as well. Fully aware my review is bias due to significant childhood nostalgia of my parent owning and playing this CD loads when I was young. Don’t care. Still obsessed.

Peter Gabriel 3 by Peter Gabriel
May 15 2026

Enjoyed this a lot. Lots of different sounds, genres, instruments. Very pleasant listening

With The Beatles by Beatles
May 19 2026

Fun! Beatles are just good vibes. I enjoyed this album but it’s not back to back bangers like some other ones.

Odelay by Beck
May 20 2026

Not my favourite from beck but I like the uniqueness of this album and how it plays with sound and genres

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
May 21 2026

I disliked this album so much I couldn’t wait for it to end. It was such a chaotic jumble of things but not in a fun creative way more in an unsettling disturbing way. I thought I finally enjoyed one song on the album before I realised it had just ended and Spotify had shuffled something else. Yikes. This will literally never cross my desk again.

Be by Common
May 22 2026

Enjoyed this album! Lyrically it was really strong and a couple of different sounds in there but also some of the beats and backings were one note

Fragile by Yes
May 25 2026

I on lot listened to disc 1 because I didn’t have 4 hours but does one was fun and flirty!

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
May 26 2026

A good blend of genres and sounds and tempos. Really enjoyed - great album to listen to on a sunny day

Searching For The Young Soul Rebels by Dexys Midnight Runners
May 27 2026

Quite long and a bit one note. Was waiting for a couple songs to really pep it up but it just didn’t seem to come. Didn’t hate the creative sound just got a bit boring for me

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
May 28 2026

Better than their other album on this list. The Celtic influence and feel was fun. Not sure I agree they should have 2 albums on this list - more of a one hit wonder to me if I’m honest. That being said I didn’t hate listening to this album but won’t rush to do it again.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
May 29 2026

I thought I’d like this more than I did. Fun sound in the beginning but got boring really fast

War by U2
Jun 01 2026

I actually really like u2 but this isn’t my favourite album. Only one really stand out song for me.

Future Days by Can
Jun 04 2026

Ok background music.. but otherwise.. what?

Rapture by Anita Baker
Jun 05 2026

A bit boring but pleasant enough and inoffensive

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jun 08 2026

Good with a couple great songs but the album got a little boring with a lot of the songs having a similar sound

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jun 09 2026

I absolutely love The Smashing Pumpkins! This album is great… A little bit too long but it has so many different sounds and so much creativity. Would definitely listen to this again.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jun 10 2026

I found this mind numbinglt boring

Heavy Weather by Weather Report
Jun 11 2026

Good vibes. Really enjoyed the instrumentals.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Jun 15 2026

Something so homey and nostalgic about this album. Absolutely classic

xx by The xx
Jun 16 2026

I forgot how good this album is. Would happily listen to it back to front any time

Low by David Bowie
Jun 17 2026

Not for me

Rum Sodomy & The Lash by The Pogues
Jun 18 2026

I like this to be fair. Really fun music that I would absolutely dance to any time. Would probably not listen to this full album again but can appreciate it in small doses

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Jun 22 2026

Enjoyed this a lot more than the previous black sabbath album. Thought this had more depth and felt more blues inspired rather than ultra heavy. Some of the songs really gave me tenacious d vibes which tickled me

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jun 23 2026

Enjoyable to work to but not a huge stand out for me

Jun 25 2026

I actually really loved this. Fresh sounding with lots of different pop and funk elements. The neptunes production of this era just never misses for me. Good vibes!

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Jun 29 2026

Prefer this era of Michael Jackson for sure. Would definitely get me on the dance floor

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jun 30 2026

I couldn’t get into this at all. Why were the songs so long?

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jul 06 2026

A really strong album. Come together as an opener is just so peak. Immediately into it. So many good songs and very few just okay ones

Doolittle by Pixies
Jul 07 2026

I didn’t hate this as much as I initially thought that I would… That being said I would never listen to this again I still strongly disliked it

Kings Of The Wild Frontier by Adam & The Ants
Jul 08 2026

I saw this album cover and groaned because I thought was going to hate it but it was actually so camp - lots of fun

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Jul 09 2026

Groove is in the heart is great. Rest of the album is just okay. Very nostalgic 90s sound

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Jul 10 2026

Interesting but not really a fave listen for me

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Jul 14 2026

I find this just too sad to enjoyably listen to

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Jul 16 2026

I actually really enjoyed this. The 90s grunge was a welcome change from what we’ve had recently which was starting to feel repetitive

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Jul 17 2026

Even as background music this wasn’t my vibe
