Chill, cool

Weird, spooky, emotional, driving beats, makes me think of rain. The more time has passed since I listened the more I like it.

Funky basslines and sleepy ballads

50s honky tonky but more jagged, minus points because he sounds like a cross between John Travolta and Bob Dylan

feels poetic, reminds me of a Congolese jazz album I've been listening to which lead me to find out he worked with several South African musicians, which was controversial because it was during Apartheid - interesting stuff. I like the plucky guitar style and there are some killer lines.

Discordant and disturbing, echoey and loud, crash-bash-bang. Would be so fun to hear live. It's also cool to read about how many bands were influenced by her. Love a scary woman, she can cut my head off and eat it any time.

Didn't think I was going to like it, tried to keep an open mind, still didn't like it. Some of the softer stuff was alright, like Tangerine, but otherwise, too much dudes yelling. The classic rock dads can keep this one.

I feel like I shouldn't like this, but there's kind of an interesting vibe. Almost ska? But like really angry ska. It's loud and discordant but also a head bopper

Very beep boop wee woo but somber. The computer robot imagery feels a bit dated to me, very of it's time

Creative combination of electronic and acoustic sounds, it's got a rhythm and pulse and major bops. Queen of pop for a reason.

Category is: campy deadbeat dad in 1966 who drives an obnoxious convertible chic. I do think it ends in a high note though.

It's got a really droning buzzing vibe, sometimes good sometimes bad

No disco album will ever get less than 3 stars from me, and this is good solid disco. It's fun music-ified

Three powerhouse voices, lots of heart and soul, and the three-part harmonies kick ass

I used to like this, but I think I've matured since then and realized there's more to life than indie rock. It gets three stars for the nostalgia though.

This is probably a personal problem, but I think the best song on rock albums is usually the folkiest one, and this album is no exception. And not just because it's in Napoleon Dynamite.

Heartfelt, earnest, and soft, if a bit bland. I am a sucker for a song about sailing away though (a surprisingly rich category). In the 90s I feel like they were really into having a fast beat in the background of an otherwise not fast song - what's that about?
