Interesting variety in styles. Loved his voice. This is an album I could go back to and enjoy again.

Superb album from start to finish. I'd listened to it before and enjoyed it but paid more attention knowing I'd be rating it. A classic.

Classic sound and riffs. Really enjoyed this, even though it's so synonymous with modern rock that it sounds a little cliche.

Absolute virtuoso musicianship but I just couldn't get in to it. Short album that felt like it went on forever.

I have mixed feelings. There are some sublime moments and then at other times is self-indulgent pompous ridiculousness. For 1970 though, this seriously kicked hard and they need some credit for that. Genre defining but also prog in the worst way at times.

I did enjoy it and she's a clever writer but I don't think I could go to a 4 as the young, pained female with the self confessional lyrics and electro pop production has been done to death in the last 10 years and this seemed to be a fairly middle example of the genre.

Absolutely outstanding and an easy 5. Lyrically, it's sharp and witty and musically it's retro whilst will sounding original. Woke total ear worms on the album that I'll be singing for days. Second half of the album isn't quite as strong but I still loves this from start to finish.

I have the album on vinyl but I've not listened to it for years. It still hits in all the ways it did when I first heard it. Absolute classic. Easy 5.

Not what I expected at all. Really experimental and lots of instrumentals. It'll need a few listens to really digest.

Greatest album of all time? I wouldn't even put it in the top 3 Beatles albums. Has some incredible moments and then some filler tracks too. Nice to revisit it though.

Just felt a bit meh to be honest. Nothing really stood out.

Absolutely loved it. Amazing vocals all the way through (no surprise) but the really joy was the music, melodies and general feel good vibe.

Abrasive doesn't even do it justice. It grated on me for the full play through but I realised that's it's secret weapon. Some good stand out tracks. Not an album I'll revisit but I recognise it's qualities.

Some classics on here. I enjoyed it all the way through even though the second half is weaker.

A little forgettable at times but generally I enjoyed the album. I was unable to find the original UK tracklist on streaming so listened to US rerelease. Bonus mark for the amazing cover of What's so Funny 'bout Peace, Love and Understanding to finish.

I know this album fairly well but this was my first listen in about a year. It amazes me that this was recorded in such a short space of time and before they had a record deal. 4.5/5

Loved this album since it came out. Lyrically brilliant, and musically it was a breath of fresh air at the time.

I appreciate the experimental nature of this and that it's art rather than entertainment. With that said though, it's utterly dreadful. Completely unlistenable and without any meaningful purpose or theme behind it.

Hard to criticise as it's great, but it's probably the worst Beatles album. Really enjoyed it though and it shows what a tight band they were in the early days.

I really struggled with this. I understand the point of shoegaze but it so monotonous and repetitive that it's hard to listen to. It descended rapidly in quality in the second half. The final two tracks were abysmal.

One of the best opening 3 song runs of all time. The rest of the album doesn't quite ever live up to that but it's still a great listen all the way through.

Really loved it. Reminded me of early Neil Young albums. Definitely a record I'll go back to.

Amazing.

I thought it was really goofy at first but the more I listened, the more infectious the music and beats became. The goofiness is it's main strength, making it timeless fun that doesn't take itself too seriously and had me smiling all day.

Over 3 hours... No, I didn't listen to it all. She has an iconic voice but it's not a proper album, just a giant box set of recordings. Shouldn't be on the list.

I'm familiar with the band but knew nothing on the album. A few decent songs in the first half but it was a bit dour and dragged. They have such an iconic sound but I don't feel it was put to great use on this record.

He's a great singer and I enjoyed parts of the album but as a collective, I don't think I've ever listened to any album so beige and uninspiring.

I've had this album on CD for years but never really connected with it. Loved listening to it today though. Really strong all the way through. He was an outstanding performer. Feel this could grow to a 5 with some more listens.
